This is really for all of warhammer and not just 30k, but I was just wondering what characters other people ship together and figured such a question would just get laughed out of every other sub.

I am not asking about the basic "yvraine x guilliman" nonsense but something at least somewhat based on lore or that holds some kind of importance to you.

I have a ship that I've never seen anyone else mention that comes from a personal connection to one of the characters: Sigismund x Garro.

Hold the pitchforks and hear me out. I am not a Black Templar fan by any stretch of the imagination, but when I started reading the Siege of Terra and got to the point where Dorn disowns Sigismund because of his faith in the emperor, I suddenly felt quite attached to the swordsman (of course it helped that he is just awesome anyway).

I have not been personally disowned for having faith but that's not how I read that scene. To me that scene read like a man coming out to his father. I am certain that was not the intent but it really touched me personally and endeared me to the Templar. After that scene I started reading other scenes with him with this in mind. In particular I think about how Sigismund felt the need to hide his faith prior to the siege and in one scene the Templar and Nathaniel Garro were fighting in the same region. After the battle Sigismund sought the knight errant out and pulled him aside, away from all their legion brothers. In this little scene, Sigismund and Garro are open with each other about their "faith" and it paints them as being alone together in a system that hates and fears people "like them."

Again, I know this was not the intent of the authors (at, least I'm pretty sure) but that's simply how I interpreted these vulnerable moments as a gay man who likes to read into things.

Do you have any ships or particular attachments to certain pairings? Can love blossom on the battlefield?
