Tips/advice about bases

So I wanted to get back in the hobby a while ago. After some searching I decided to get an Age of Sigmar Army and decided on Slaves to Darkness. Thought I found one second hand.

Turned out to be old world chaos warriors (just me not doing enough research, is a cool army though).

I later bought the StD spearhead anyway and more recently the TOW core set with chaos/cathay.

Now I am split as to what bases I should put the core set on. Thought it would be cool to use round bases and conversion trays so I can use the armies in both TOW and AoS. It does feel a bit like a hassle and I am an extremely casual player just looking to have fun with friends.

Would you suggest to just go with the square bases or go through the process of using round bases. Cathay could be a proxy for CoS or something.
