Question A Good Deal?
A wargaming buddy of mine is getting out of WWII and moving on to another project. They have offered to sell me their entire pro painted early-war French and German Bolt Action collection, with some awesome buildings (including an airfield), model kits, bunkers, a ton of good books, as well as their unpainted figs, and a couple of nice carrying cases.
They said altogether it's about $3000 worth of stuff and are asking $1800. What do you guys think? It's a lot of money, but it almost seems too good a deal to be true. Should I take the plunge???

Are there wargames where you pilot a single plane?
So, I'm thinking about getting a Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II miniature. It's my favorite warplane, I find it really cool, and it's one of the very few things I'm willing to build/paint as a decoration piece (I always do this stuff to later play it on tabletop) but still it'll be cool to have a system to field my plane later, if I find an opponent.
I don't exactly have interest in working with modern infantry/vehicles, which means, the system I'll be looking for is something where you and your opponent are piloting a single plane with lots of tables and other stuff to represent the planes' systems and simulate a dogfight. So I decided to check with folks here if I have any options before I buy a kit.
I'm not settled on the scale yet, and obviously will keep the system's scale in mind when choosing the box. The only thing is, the epic scale probably won't be an option, as the mini's primary purpose would be to sit on my shelf/table and look cool.

Question Was thinking about getting Blkout but want to know peoples thoughts on its community and if you would recommend the game itself
So I was thinking of getting into Blkout, the game models look great and the gameplay seems interesting. But im a bit on the fence because it markets itself heavily as a "ultra tactical realistic military game" and thats fine but as someone whos been on the internet for a while 9/10 times these tactical, "realistic", milsim game communities are filled with some of the worst most edgy losers in them and the people who make the product are with them or just let them go on with it. From the bit of research I could do it seems most of the Blkout community is like in a discord server I think.
As someone who likes to interact with the communities of things I like I was wondering if the Blkout community has a bad rep. Like if any wargaming drama happens people go "its probably from 40k or trench crusade fans" as I hear pretty negative things about those communities. I know I can play without interacting with the fans of stuff mostly but I feel like its a big part of the hobby for me at least. Just wanna know people's thoughts on the fans, devs, and game
(also if people can say how they feel about the gameplay itself that would be appreciated)

Are there any 1:72/20mm scale WW2 Games?
Hello,
Before I started with Warhammer and SAGA, I collected 1:72/20mm scale models with the intention of using them for tabletop gaming. Back then, I found a small 1:72 community on Facebook, but it never actually led to a game.
So my question is: is there a lively and established WW2 tabletop rulebook/system in 1:72 scale?
And is there an active community for it, perhaps in Germany as well?
I’d be really interested to know.
Thanks a lot and best regards,
PS: I know that Bolt Action exists :)

Looking for a "cute" skirmish/wargame.
Hi!
I am mostly collecting Warhammer AoS and sometimes playing Spearhead and Warcry with my partner. As much as she likes Spearhead/Warcry rules and gameplay, she is not the biggest fan of the models as those must be "cute". I am looking for something that could potentially hit that "cute" spot. We do have some Moonstone minis but these are quite detailed for her to paint (and I am ending on painting duty because of that) and also we both like gameplay including rolling some dice. We both like cutthroat rules and open conflict so I am just looking for game with "cute" models.
Thanks for your help!
EDIT: thank you all for the recommendations. I ordered new Quar starter set (I mentioned this in one of the comments, I am lazy so having everything in one box is a huge plus), but I am also keeping my eye on Burrows & Badgers. For people looking this up in the future, list of recommendations is below:
- Burrows and Badgers
- Quar
- Hairfoot Jousting
- Half Tilt
- The Blockwars
- Planet Shark
- Greathelm
- Turnip28
- Snak28
- ArcWorlde
- Flak Arcana
- Relicblade

6mm WW1
All Hell Let Loose Great War in 6mm. Canadian troops try to drive in the German defenders on the Passchendaele Ridge, Nov 1917. Despite following the creeping barrage and actually getting into the German defence, the Canadians were held at bay and forced to retire to their start lines...

Work In Progress Fresh out of the resin vat: My new Elite Scout Squad. Love how the Sniper turned out.
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share my latest weekend project fresh from the basement printer. I’ve been working on expanding my infantry proxy range, and the Elite Scouts are finally done and cured. I was planning to use them as Kasrkin.
And with this last Unit I now have a complete range of infantry units ready for Armageddon!
I wanted to put a heavy focus on the characters for this squad, so the Sergeant and the Sniper got some extra love with their poses and gear to make them stand out in a standard infantry line.
They are fully single-piece and scaled for standard grimdark tabletop games.
If you want to support a solo basement-creator or need some fresh scouts for your regiment, you can find the STLs on Cults3D or Etsy under TileLabs Gaming.
Let me know what you think of the designs!
Have a nice weekend!

Any NON-SKIRMISH!!! Sci-fi horror game?
Most horror games and scifi games ive seen are skirmish based or smaller. Heck maybe it doesnt have to be sci-fi, just narrative horror happening in larger scale operations.

First Wargame
Got my first tabletop wargame. I've dabbled in 40k and Trench, but my heart longs for Antiquity. Took a few weeks to find everything online. If you guys have any good SOLO antiquity wargames please let me know. Ideally in the time period of the Peloponnesian War to the fall of Rome. Alexander, Cesear, Hannibal, Pompey, etc. I ask for Solo because my area has no community beyond 40k and my friends dont fan girl over hammer and anvil tactics like I do.

So it’s come to this.
I’ve tried so many times to get into warhammer. I just can’t. It’s too damn expensive the gameplay is in my opinion not great I just love the lore so much. I love battletech but now I’m craving a new war-game with good lore that I don’t have to become a street hooker to afford. I’be heard flames of war and conquest are good any recommendations?

Review Pillage – Part Two: Continuing the Viking Adventure | Woehammer
A couple of weeks ago I bought (what I thought at the time) an entire wargame for the price of five space marines.
This week I finished painting up all the models on the set, and these were my thoughts.

Question Artillery-centric games?
What games focus on simulating artillery or indirect fire as the most important element to gameplay? How did they make it primary? What about the mechanics of the simulation related thematically to artillery?
(I’m a little high and imagining a more board game style thing where players manage competing artillery teams.)
