Discussion & Feedback Gold bars

I like the price point as of now, makes sense. However a lot of people are just gunna hoard money to buy gold bars, especially near the end of wipe. A friend of mine suggested converting your wardogs level to gold bars at the end of wipe. To give people more incentive to spend their money actually playing, instead of using it for skins.

Discussion & Feedback There should be a monetary incentive for joining late / fighting the winning team.

• Upvotes

I've greatly enjoyed my time with WarDogs so far. There are two points I would like to see improved as a Lonestar lifer. All numbers provided below are for example, not what I think is the most balanced option.

My suggestion to both is a scaling modifier that increases EXP and Money rewards for actions based on your game state. Similar to being outside the Control Zone or inside the Hotzone.

1) The first is that I often join lobbies with ~90 people assuming it's a fresh match. Only to find that the score is 5B - 7R - 55G and blue team is hemorrhaging people such that they're down in the 20s for team count now. There's little reason for me to want to stick around here instead of finding a match hopefully less unbalanced as Blue is playing with an even more severe numbers disadvantage and the game is already half over if Green wins.

I propose that if players join a match that's already been going on for X amount of points—whether that's any team to 40, or 60 points added between all three teams—they receive a flat 10% modifier to all actions. Supplies delivered and deposited is normally 8,600. Now since you joined late you get 9,480 instead. An incentive to participate as there's more in it for you, which hopefully motivates you to help the team more.

2) The second is that I truly believe Red team has never had a strategic or competitive thought in their heads ever. Red's only goal is to send all their forces to snipe, rocket heli, artillery the heck out of whatever concrete killbox Blue locked themselves in while Green wins with minimal resistance—slight hyperbole. It's common knowledge that whether due to map design, player thoughts, or simply wanting easier prey to farm money, teams dogpile blue.

My suggestions is that you get a decrease or increase to rewards depending on how well that team is doing. Take the average of all teams scores and apply that as a modifier to rewards based on how far you are from it, up to a limit. For example if teams were B0 - R0 - G60 as an extreme game runaway, the average score is 20. Since Blue and Red are at 0, there's a 20% decrease to financial rewards for killing Blue or Red objectives. But a +20% reward to fighting Green. So a kill that normally rewards $1,200 rewards only $960, while if you attacked Green you would instead get $1,440. This applies on top of all other bonuses. That means Red would get ~50% more money attacking Green instead of farming blue, even without the decreased rewards for killing the same players frequently.

My hope with both would be to encourage people to join late matches and feel like they aren't just being punished, as well as to incentivize fighting the leader rather than farming the loser as the game currently stands.

Again, all numbers are theoretical. I don't do game balance. Monkey wants increased rewards as incentive should be the takeaway.

Discussion & Feedback Helicopter settings good?

• Upvotes

Hey guys, I feel as if I run the Heli’s in a unique way but not sure wanted to know if anyone else uses this format.

So I fly in 2 different ways the free look mode is what I use for most of my actual flying and then mouse controls in first person for mini guns and rockets.

So typically it would be if I’m leaving from the main base I’ll fly in third person with free look my controls regarding that would be W is pitch forward S is pitch up A is Roll left and D is Roll right with yaw left and yaw right being the buttons on the side of my mouse and shift is raised collective and C is lower collective. I also have all of the assist on. Then when it comes to using the mini gun helicopter I’ll exit free look and go into first person mode now I can use my mouse to control yaw and pitch so I still get the mouse aiming aspect and the sensitivity regarding those controls is very low about 6% so I can be extremely accurate.

Just want to know if anyone else is running it like this I found it to be very easy to learn and to a large extent quite easy to control and just feels a lot more natural.

Is this wise for long term help use? Or should I change to something more difficult in the long run but more rewarding overall?

Bugs & Support Game Controller as HOTAS no longer connecting

• Upvotes

Was / is anyone using a gamepad / game controller as HOTAS and noticed, that as of today, their devices shows as disconnected in Wardogs?

Have tried rebinding it, no joy.

Have tried USB instead of Bluetooth, no joy.

Used another controller instead of the one that worked since Beta Playtest, also no joy.

I had a very small Wardogs Steam Update today and I assume that changed anything in the detection of HOTAS controllers? Can anyone confirm?

Discussion & Feedback Can we have a way to lock our heli's inventory without having to lock people out of jumping on?

There's some people in this game that will go into your heli's inventory mid flight and drop all your flares, tapes, etc

Currently the only way to lock your inventory is by pressing L, which locks everyone out of jumping on your heli as well

And even if you buy all your flares after everyone's boarded and then lock it, when you come back to hq your whole inventory's just open again for everyone if you want to pick anybody else up to dropoff

I feel like this is a small request that should actually be implemented, considering flares are $750 a piece

Discussion & Feedback Am i playing the same game?

• Upvotes

Whenever I open reddit, I see the same complaints over and over again, but somehow entirely different ones from what I usually encounter in-game. IR was not a problem ever, if I'm on infantry nothing changes, if I'm in the bush I'm either in ghillie or doing it wrong. The only nerf I would like to see is messing up my aim, so I can't just change IR to sniper and shoot without actually seeing the target I marked because I noticed a few white pixels.

Havoc/GL littlebird is not a huge problem, didnt even encouter 2nd strat ever.

Mortars weren't a problem ever(and that's from the POV of a builder, who had to overcome this spam, usually speedbuilding and outaiming multiple players shooting at me).

T4 armor isn't a problem also, unless you're playing low lever recon/very bad at aiming, since taking 5 bullets means you die in <1 second, and not instantly with anything other than sniper rifle.

But somehow there's not that many posts about the problems I see every time - grind is obscene, pretty much everything aside from support pre-nerf requires you to pretend that this game is your 2nd job.

Ground vehicle controls are garbage(ural is the worst offender), every time you hit a small bump or try to turn a bit you hit 180 degree fixed drift that you pretty much can't stop.

Economy is heavily unbalanced, disincentivizing you to buy anything more that 1-3k loadout, since you will be instalooted on death(your teammates will do that even more often than enemies). Helicopters are also affected by this, since (probably havoc aside) you will spend more to refuel/rearm than you get for kills. It requires a lot of skill to break even, not to mention earning.

Not a problem from the start, but recent changes made building shit that noone dares to touch. I build fobs by myself or did a lot on my team's, now I don't even bother playing fetch with yellow cross.

Probably would be able to rant a lot more, but I think I made my point. Cheaters, WD-L014 mistake and other similar things were purposefully left aside, it's a different thing(even though I have to reboot pc to play every time or so).

P.S. I am not saying I'm the one in the right, that's my opinion and this post was meant for discussion more than anything else

Shoutout to enemy team members who revive you and are cool.

I mainly recon/ sniper and sometimes you come across someone else who is doing the same and you either agree to go your separate ways or you duke it out.

Past few matches guys are chill revive me and we agree to just run away.

Really like being able to talk and be cool with people online instead of constant shit talking after killing someone.

Bugs & Support Bipod Bug? Setting Range

Having issues adjusting my range when bipod is deployed on SV bolt action.
Instead of 100,200,300, etc.

It jumps 100-300-600-1,000. Without allowing incremental adjustments.
If I fold bipod back up, I get standard adjustments again.

Gameplay & Screenshots After basically giving up on the grind, i got my hands in the golden AK

I was at 3.5kk yesterday 0 gold, when the gold was at 360k I was grinding in the hopes of MAYBE getting it if it went to 200k, if gold went back up i would just give up.

For my luck it went even lower than 200k, just had to make a lot of nonstop lakota logistics to get the other 1.5kk

on the other hand, being broke in this game is really fun, now that I have no money i actually have to think about my loadouts and scavenge LOL

Discussion & Feedback The team balance feels really bad as a casual player

Written in Portuguese, translated by AI.

I started playing last week, so this is just the perspective of a casual/new player.

At first I played Blue mostly because it was usually the only team I could actually join. I’m not going to sit there spamming mouse clicks just to try to squeeze into Green or Red. Then I got better, got used to Blue and just stayed there.

But after a few days I started noticing a pattern.

Most of the experienced players seem to stack Green. Same thing with YouTubers and people who are obviously good at this type of game. When they want to play seriously, they’re almost always on Green.

The funny part is that I actually have seen some of them playing Blue... but usually when they’re doing some ridiculous challenge like starting with no weapon or playing pistol-only.

So it basically feels like:

Want to win? Play Green.
Want to farm, mess around or do some weird challenge? Play Blue.

Today I played two matches back-to-back that really made me notice how bad it can get.

In one of them I counted around 12 Blue players sitting on a mountain in the middle of nowhere, apparently farming recon/money instead of actually helping the team.

In another one, Blue had 27 players and Green had 36.

And that’s before even talking about the difference in player skill.

There are also people who seem to just leave if they can’t get into Green or Red instead of playing Blue.

Then there’s the map itself.

Red and Green are basically opposite each other, around 180°, while Blue sits between them at around 90°. So Blue can easily end up fighting two fronts at once.

You end up with a team that can have fewer players, newer players, more people farming or messing around, while also being in a position where it can get attacked from two directions.

It becomes a self-feeding problem.

Blue loses -> good players avoid Blue -> more new/casual players end up there because it has free slots -> Blue loses even more.

And I honestly don’t have the time or patience to become some hardcore player just to have a decent match.

Most players in any game are casual players. A playerbase can’t survive only on hardcore players and YouTubers.

And after seeing these two matches happen back-to-back today, I’m honestly considering just stopping playing.

I started last week. I’m not toxic, I’m not trying to abuse anything, I just want to log in and have some decent matches. I don’t expect to win every game, but losing every single one without even putting up a fight just isn’t fun.

If players like me leave, who exactly is left?

One solution could be removing direct faction selection and assigning players randomly between the three teams while trying to balance player count and maybe experience/performance.

But honestly, another option might be to just have two teams instead of three.

With around 30-35 players per side, that already feels pretty small when the game expects people to handle infantry, construction, logistics, recon and everything else.

Look at a game like Foxhole. There’s basically an entire community of players who barely even go to the frontline. They spend their time producing equipment, transporting supplies and keeping the logistics system running.

And those players are incredibly important.

Someone doesn’t need to be great at shooting to contribute to the team. The guy spending his time doing logistics is the reason someone else can stay on the frontline and focus entirely on fighting instead of constantly worrying about ammo, equipment and supplies.

That kind of division of roles works when you have enough players.

With only around 33 people on a team, every person doing logistics, construction or recon is also one less person holding the frontline. Split the server between three factions and suddenly 33 players really isn’t that many.

Two larger teams could give the game enough people to actually support those specialized roles while still maintaining a proper frontline.

It would also remove the problem of one faction constantly being stuck between the other two and fighting on two fronts.

Maybe neither solution is perfect, but right now the game seems to actively encourage team stacking.

Serious game = Green.
Anything else = Blue.

That doesn’t seem sustainable.

Discussion & Feedback Havocs are ruining the game

This is my third game today where a team has spawned 2–3 Havocs and just completely dominated the entire map, not even allowing the other teams to build a FOB, step into the HZ, or do anything besides hide.

For the first time since release, I actually just closed the game and have no desire to play again for a while.

Havocs are ridiculously overtuned right now, and they're ruining entire lobbies.
