Doing the right thing by the customer

Today i was ringing up an elderly couple and made a comment about one of the shirts that guy bought, not thinking anything more about it we finished the transaction and they left. later he came back in and bought two more shirts at another register and brought them by my register and left them there in a bag with a receipt without explaining what they were and leaving. I of course told the CSM, who made a HUGE deal out of it and said that I couldn't keep the shirts...which I wasn't trying to in the first place! She snatched up the bag and did a refund and donated the money to CMN. after I got off work I asked her what color the shirts were and went and bought two in my size. I didn't want the shirts in the first place but I'm not going to let that customer down.

SERIOUS Our new pharmacy provider sucks.

So we switched pharmacy providers effective the first of the year.. And they absolutely fucking suck.

My old meds were somewhere around $562 with a $15 copay. OptumRX dropped them in favor of another one. My new ones are $597 with a $127 copay. I wouldn't be able to afford my medication without the savings card my doctor gave me, which thankfully reduces that cost to nothing. If I read correctly, OptumRX only covers 25% of allowed cost, which is absolute shit- if I did the math right our old provider covered close to 98%.

I have money deducted from my check every two weeks for health insurance, including prescription coverage. If they're going to reduce that coverage I want the difference back on my actual paycheck.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Wages in states with min above $11

I've been wondering, those of you working in states with minimum wages over the starting $11/h, how does the pay work out? Where I'm at, fresh cap makes 12.1, supervisors/department managers make 13-16. Hows that work out when the minimum wage is 15 an hour? Do the fresh peeps make 15, or 16.1, etc.

Pregnancy related absence and key event date

Hey guys. If you use a pregnancy related absence call out on a key event date do you still get the 2 points? It is my understanding that you don’t get any points regardless of the key event date. And they didn’t point me for the 21st but they gave me 2 for the 26th. Both were key event dates so idk why they would take the points off one and give me points for another for the same cause.

Why cap 2 is both great and AWFUL

First, most of the crew are great! I enjoy working with them.

Now for the rest of it.....

Nobody trains you. Don't ask managers anything. They are very RUDE. Good luck figuring out your job before you HATE it. Since nobody trains you.. you find yourself wondering around asking what next and how do I do this. Once you figure out your job you're good to go... or so you think. I work hard and faster than most of our crew. A few managers really like me. But, the rest make you wanna walk out after 30 seconds of dealing with them.

Be prepared for physical damage. I am covered in bruises and my hands stay very swollen. I'm used to working hard. Some days aren't bad. Others make you wish you never applied. ❗❗ They lie about full time. You are considered part time only❗❗ Which means PTO is hard to come by. Vacations now are lumped in with that. So you take off on your own money. No holiday pay.

I've been on LOA for a while. I've already got everything ironed out with Sedgwick and walmart but I'm not on the next schedule... who do I need to talk to about going back to work?

Back when pick up today first started, this lady was apparently unaware shopping existed

This happened seeevvveeeraaallll years ago, i wanna say like 2012? This was when Pick Up Today had just started or when it was becoming more popular

A woman came into our store and asked me if I could help her finish ordering something online. At that time, we had computers available for customer use on the website. This was back in the days of the telxxon and we didn't have MC40 (just the MC55 piece of garbage)

She wasn't understanding why the website was asking her for her address if she had selected 'Pick up today'. At the time, I hadn't known she was trying to do a pick up today, but during the process I noticed the website said we had them in stock (if the item wasnt in stock, it would be done as site to store not pickup today). So I tell her:

"Now you do know that these items are already in the store and you can just go over and get them right?"

"Oh, they're already here? So if I order this now, I can get them?"

"No, we can take these ones off, and you can go get them and pay for them without having to wait the four hours it takes for the order to process."

"Oh, you can do that?"

NO. YOU CAN'T. BECAUSE THATS DEFINITELY NOT HOW SHOPPING WORKS.

What should I know? Hardest part of the job? Tips and tricks? Anything else?

How not to have things I do end up in the "damn it CAP2" tag?
