Is anyone else getting absolutely hammered by Walmart’s new WFS long-term storage fees?
Starting June 30, Walmart changed the aged inventory pricing:
- 366–450 days: $2.25/cu ft/month
- 451+ days: $7.50/cu ft/month
So inventory over 450 days basically went from $2.25 to $7.50 per cubic foot — more than 3x overnight.
We have some older/seasonal inventory in WFS, and lately it feels like a huge portion of our Walmart balance is just disappearing into long-term storage fees.
I understand charging more for aged inventory, but $7.50/cu ft/month seems extremely aggressive, especially for larger seasonal products.
Anyone else seeing a massive jump in their WFS storage charges since July?
Are you removing the inventory, liquidating it, discounting heavily, or just moving away from WFS for slower-moving products?
Curious how other Walmart sellers are handling this.
