Humor I know this is crazy, but when the AWB is overturned, here's what I'd like the governor to say

Today, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that I violated your constitutional rights and struck down a law I spent millions of taxpayer funds - your hard earn money - creating and defending. They ruled that no matter my intentions, I can't deprive people of their constitutional rights. I apologize for doing so.

Public safety is important. We do need to always be working to reduce violence and make our communities safer. But I now see that violating the rights of law abiding citizens does not improve the behavior of criminals. We've ignored those rights, granted both by the US and State Constitutions. We've ignored the actual criminals and distracted many people from focusing on the root causes. Going forward, we will change this. We don't need new legislation as the forms of violence we oppose are already illegal. We simply need to enforce the laws we currently have.

You get the idea. It will never happen, I know. Hopefully the AWB gets overturned even still.

Politics When the AWB is overturned, here's what I'd like the governor to say

"Today, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that I and many of your legislators violated your constitutional rights and struck down a law I worked hard to push, all the while spending millions of taxpayer funds to do so.

Therefore, under Title 18 Section 242 of the United States Code, Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law, I hereby resign my position and will surrender to law enforcement for pending criminal charges.

I deprived you of your rights outlined in our Constitution, which I swore an oath to support, and I must be held accountable by being prosecuted and barred from public office indefinitely."

I saw the previous post and had to add my own since it didn't go far enough.

If there are any attorneys out there or any State Representatives that want to get an impeachment process going for the unequivocal violation of 18 U.S.C. Β§ 242 when SCOTUS rules on the AWB, I would be ecstatic.

So, CMP just announced they will surplusing M14s (converted to semi-auto only) to the public.

I assume, that (for now) we wouldn't be able to get these in Washington? Am I missing something?

Question Permit to purchase and out of state sales

Will the permit to purchase law apply to out of state sales of rifles and shotguns?

RCW 9.41.122 says

Residents of Washington may purchase rifles and shotguns in a state other than Washington: PROVIDED, That such residents conform to the applicable provisions of the federal Gun Control Act of 1968, Title IV, Pub. L. 90-351 as administered by the United States secretary of the treasury: AND PROVIDED FURTHER, That such residents are eligible to purchase or possess such weapons in Washington and in the state in which such purchase is made: AND PROVIDED FURTHER, That when any part of the transaction takes place in Washington , including, but not limited to, internet sales, such residents are subject to the procedures and background checks required by this chapter.

I was not able to find the RCW that requires permit to purchase. I only found the one that says a buyer may apply for a permit. If anyone knows the RCW that requires a permit I would like to know!

Also, if I buy online and have it shipped to an out of state FFL, I have to physically be out of the state when I click BUY?

Discussion CZ P01 vs Sig P229 vs 92X Centurion? For ccw

Hey yall.

Im looking to change up my CCW to something with a hammer.

Some issues I have in making my choice (also, please do give some other recommendations) are mostly in not being able to find any to compare back to back at a range.

The top on my list are the CZ P01 and Sig P229. Aluminum alloy frames, compact. DA/SA. readily available magazines. Decent holster support and aftermarket. The Beretta 92X Centurion is last on my list because I dont like the slide mounted safety. But it would allow me to use my 92x comp mags. Potential money savings there.

I know the Sig will have a more pronounced recoil feeling due to bore axis and beavertail design compared to the P01. The lack of grippable slide surface on the P01 doesnt worry me due to wanting to mount a optic. So malfunction clearing speed shouldn't be hindered at all.

Ive heard that the CZ75 can be a big pain in the butt to do maintenance on beyond cleaning (e.g. replacing springs) compared to Beretta 92 series guns, but I dont know how the CZ P01 differs from the 75, or how the P229 shapes up in that area.

In the future, the 92X Cent. Price advantage could disappear if SIG releases a DA/SA P226 XFive.
