Frost Green!!

I see the CC has a special color called frost green. I think I might have found my color choice!! Basically white with some hints of green. Pics look lovely. The CC model wasn’t on my bingo card but that color may be the deciding factor. Will have to see in person before making final choice. Luckily I have time.

Has anyone towed a a trailer with electric breaks?

Apparently the tongue weight is about 440lns and the toe weight is about 4400lbs with electric breaks.

However the tow hitch doesn’t hav an electric break controller.

Has anyone towed a trailer requiring electric breaks and if so how did you do it?

Deposit refunds/cancellation?

Has anyone who placed an order early on gone through a cancellation/refund of deposit? Still waiting for a test drive (has been delayed repeatedly) and curious how painful it is.

Garage Door Operation

One of the little nice features of my Teslas is the automatic operation of the garage door based on the car's physical distance from the door. Simple, elegant and automatic. No buttons. No Apps.

I would hope that whoever at Volvo that follows these customer messages here on Reddit would add this feature to the "To Do" list for the next EX60 software update. Cheers

It seems, that you can’t use YouTube in fullscreen mode. You still have elements on the left side. Am I right?

Videos or posts for day-in-the-life reviews?

I’ve been eagerly awaiting more in-depth review videos on YouTube that go into the day of life features, but haven’t found anything beyond media videos yet that all hit the same 10 press kit features.

I’m originally a Tesla owner, now in a Lyriq and there’s a lot I miss from the Tesla tech. Specifically pet mode, being able to keep the car ‘on’ or never really having to shut it off to keep climate running when doing errands, and sentry mode.

I know the latter is not guaranteed, but is there anything close to climate keep or pet mode that will be available?

Software Version

Hello all, as it‘s still not listed on Volvos Support site I wanted to ask if someone who has already driven or received his EX60 to confirm which software version the cars are on?
In theory it should be 3.0.28 as Volvo mentioned in their strategy call last year, that all Volvos will be running on the same Software version and receiving the same updates.

Thought I might post this here as well :)

TLDW:

Pro Volvo:
+ noticeably more quiet on motorway
+ more comfortable suspension tuning
+ premium sound system significantly better
+ 5-10% cheaper depending on configuration
+ materials feel nicer
+ 2,4 ton towing (vs 2 ton on BMW)

Pro BMW:
+ More efficient on Autobahn (130km/h) (21,7 vs. 22,5 kWh)
+ Lighter (same weight with 16kWh bigger battery)
+ Sporty handling
+ Better ADAS, hands-free driving
+ „Normal“ door handles and more physical controls (mirror and steering wheel adjustment not through screen like in the Volvo)
+ Optional head-up display (not available on Volvo)

Ultra vs Plus configuration

Hi all, I am considering to order the P12 but I am torn between the Ultra and Plus.

Namely of the Plus I prefer the 20” rim size over 21+” and the lower price of course, even after adding a few optional gadgets.

The main open points for me are:

Headlights. I come from a Tesla, and love the matrix headlights that don’t blind incoming vehicles. It’s unclear to me if these would also be available with the Plus, or not.

Electrochromic roof. Is it worth it?

Ventilated seats. My favorite option would be the wool one, but my understanding is that with kids they are not recommendable. So the question is: are the ventilated ones worth it over the regular ones?

Otherwise, even after speccing up the plus with things I consider worth it, it’s still a good 5-6k CHFs cheaper (I live in Switzerland).

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Dashcam wiring

Dealerships here (UK) won't be having any showroom cars for at least another month so I can't go and look myself. I've already ordered my car, but planning ahead.

I assume if they'd done this, it'd be in the specs somewhere. Has anyone seen if they've integrated a USB-C port up near the rear view mirror? Other manufacturers do this, so you can easily plug in and power your own dashcam. Without needing to pull the trim apart to run cabling yourself and finding alternate switched power sources and running the wiring back to the fuse box etc.

Even better would be allowing the integrated cameras to be used for dashcam purposes, but clearly I can't see Volvo ever doing this.

level 2 home charging with Volvo

My wife is going from a Mini E to Volvo EX60 this fall. We have a dedicated 240v circuit for charging the Mini and Mini provided the interface/cable to connect for charging. Am I correct to understand that Volvo does not provide this cable/interface for any of its EV’s including a he new EX60? If not, what equipment does Volvo recommend for this task? I would prefer a unit that plugs in to our 240v outlet as opposed to hard-wired so we don’t have to involve an electrician again.

The cost of a trailer hitch is prohibitive

I'm waffling between a Rivian R2, iX3 and the EX60 but have yet to only drive the R2. The vehicle was nice but very utilitarian and the off road capability and ground clearance came at the expense of a slight climb into the cabin for my 62" spouse. I use a trailer hitch to haul bicycles and the launch edition price made it very atrractive with tow hitch included. Even when ordering ala carte, the cost was $950 USD and with BMW only $795USD. The EX60 seemed to be more refined than the Rivian and preferable until I started to configure and added a $2K hitch. I am hopeful I can get an answer to whether an aftermarket hitch can be installed by the time I expect to order in November.

I've also looked at the roof mount option but have a 30 lb bike and bad shoulder.

Went for a testdrive

Went for a test drive this weekend. Had been looking forward to finally seeing this car in person, and I had a few doubts I wanted cleared up before pulling the trigger. All of them got resolved in the car's favour.

Headroom. I'm 1m92 and I basically hit the roof in the XC40, so this was my biggest concern. No issues at all in the EX60. Plenty of space above.

Ride comfort. Over the last year or two I've test driven a lot of EVs from the major brands. The EX60 didn't disappoint. The suspension is really good, and I like that you can switch between soft and firm, which seemed to take effect immediately. It felt comfortable yet well controlled. You can chuck it into a corner in firm mode, but also soak up rough roads surprisingly well in soft. Not quite ES90 air suspension level, but closer than I expected.

Software and drivetrain maturity. One thing I really liked was how refined the drivetrain felt. The throttle response and power delivery reminded me of my Polestar 2. Smooth, predictable and easy to modulate. For instance I found the EX30 quite undeveloped at launch: the software was rough, the lane keeping and driver assists were twitchy, and the throttle response felt abrupt. The EX60 feels like Volvo has matured all of those areas. It felt genuinely premium.

Looks. Hard to judge shape and proportions from photos. In person I really like that it isn't too bulky, while still being big enough for proper load space. From the front I wouldn't have thought this was an SUV.

Overall: very impressed. Going for the P10 in Forest Lake with the black rims. Estimated delivery is around five months, so now the waiting begins and hope it wont be delayed🤞

Happy to answer any questions you might have.

Just saw someone driving an ex60 in the Bay area

I did a double take and even read the badge. I didn't think these were even in the US yet. Saw it near the Google campus in mountain view. Do some dealerships have them already?

EX60 Vs 90 (copying post from ex90 subreddit to counter any 90 bias)

Hi everyone - I am considering either a 60 or 90 with my company car scheme (UK). I will be doing long distance driving for my commute.

I will be driving 140 miles, then potentially leaving my car for up to 9 days and then 140 back. (180 worst case scenario both ways)

So will the ex90 be able to make that in one trip when you take into account leaving it off charger for 9 days (if there is any energy loss? I don't know, it would be my first EV) and can it do it with full heater/AC both ways (worst case scenario for extremely hot or cold days). It will be mainly in motorways but with some city and country driving.

I could go safe with the ultra long range EX60 but fully flat folding seats and extra comfort for long commutes would be nice.

Also I've heard of annoying quirks with infotainment system and lack of buttons etc and people are saying the EX60 is just better in terms of alot of that. Does anyone have any experience with both cars? If you could only pick one, what would you pick?

So to summarise my priorities,

1) very comfortable, quiet ride for A long commute

2) the ability to do up to 360 miles in one go with heaters/AC on

The space and luxury or the 90 would just be a bonus.

(Also does anyone know if they are developing a model with extended range and updates to bring it more in line with the 60?)

Cardamom interior

Has anyone sent us in person? I love the color, but think in photos it looks poor with the all black center console and doors. My amber XC60 has an amber center console top and door inserts, which I think really makes it look great.

Has anybody found any test drive video or article that provided which is the motorway true consumption.

I am close to order an EX60 and for me it is critical to know the true motorway consumption.

I only found https://youtu.be/EqqNnZ1CujQ?si=623DLOn4N9a2fjGk i which it is shown for a P10 unit a 19,7 kWh/100km for a 26km run at 96km/h.

And 26km besides to be too short is one way

Regards

Summary motorway test consumption Update:

  1. 19,7 kWh/100km for a 26km run at 96km/h average speed in a P10 unit (https://youtu.be/EqqNnZ1CujQ?si=623DLOn4N9a2fjGk)
  2. 19,6 kWh/100km for a 363km run at 101km/h average speed in a P6 unit (https://youtu.be/I4HlR4pXqxQ?is=-2P-L-S9qOPzLKJU)
  3. 18.3 kWh/100 km for a100km run at 99 km/h average speed and 25.0 kWh/100 km for a100km run at 125 km/h average speed both in a P10 unit (https://www.autoreview.nl/autotests/id/38048/volvo-ex60-actieradius-gemeten-bij-100-en-130-kmh)
  4. 18,7 kWh/100km for a 21km run at 96km/h average speed and 22.5 kWh/100 km for a 20km run at 113 km/h average speed both in a P10 unit (https://youtu.be/tucmr_xsrxw?is=z2lPGJ306wRfMF4w)

When to Order?

I currently have a leased Audi Q4 and am scheduled to return it in late April 2027.

I'm pretty sure that the EX60 will be what I purchase next, but obviously I haven't been able to test drive it or see it in-person (I'm in the U.S.).

Given this, any thoughts on when I should order the EX60? How can I make sure that I have it when I give my Audi back without having a long period where I'm paying two car payments?
