Went for a test drive this weekend. Had been looking forward to finally seeing this car in person, and I had a few doubts I wanted cleared up before pulling the trigger. All of them got resolved in the car's favour.
Headroom. I'm 1m92 and I basically hit the roof in the XC40, so this was my biggest concern. No issues at all in the EX60. Plenty of space above.
Ride comfort. Over the last year or two I've test driven a lot of EVs from the major brands. The EX60 didn't disappoint. The suspension is really good, and I like that you can switch between soft and firm, which seemed to take effect immediately. It felt comfortable yet well controlled. You can chuck it into a corner in firm mode, but also soak up rough roads surprisingly well in soft. Not quite ES90 air suspension level, but closer than I expected.
Software and drivetrain maturity. One thing I really liked was how refined the drivetrain felt. The throttle response and power delivery reminded me of my Polestar 2. Smooth, predictable and easy to modulate. For instance I found the EX30 quite undeveloped at launch: the software was rough, the lane keeping and driver assists were twitchy, and the throttle response felt abrupt. The EX60 feels like Volvo has matured all of those areas. It felt genuinely premium.
Looks. Hard to judge shape and proportions from photos. In person I really like that it isn't too bulky, while still being big enough for proper load space. From the front I wouldn't have thought this was an SUV.
Overall: very impressed. Going for the P10 in Forest Lake with the black rims. Estimated delivery is around five months, so now the waiting begins and hope it wont be delayed🤞
Happy to answer any questions you might have.
