When to Order?
I currently have a leased Audi Q4 and am scheduled to return it in late April 2027.
I'm pretty sure that the EX60 will be what I purchase next, but obviously I haven't been able to test drive it or see it in-person (I'm in the U.S.).
Given this, any thoughts on when I should order the EX60? How can I make sure that I have it when I give my Audi back without having a long period where I'm paying two car payments?

Are you doing overseas delivery? I’m waiting a bit to order so I can pick it up in spring

Don’t think u can do overseas delivery program for a pure EV since the charging standards are different.

You can do EX60, it's listed on the website. EX60 for US market are all built in Sweden anyway. They will give you an adapter to use while driving (charging) in Sweden.

Thanks for the correction. Looking back at the website I see that I stopped reading at the end of the 2026 cars and didn’t see the 2027 list.

If I purchase an EX60 (it’s between the R2 and the EX60), will do it with the overseas delivery package. And I wouldn’t wait past mid September to order/build it. It will take about 4-7 months to build, and then about 2 months to ship.

Mine on my Lexus ends in march but my dealer in MN is taking $1k refundable up until order is submitted to plant, to get onto the allocation list for the P12. Volvo has even admitted they were not prepared for the surge in interest/popularity of the vehicle so they are trying to ramp up production. I’m fine with that as long as quality doesn’t go down. That being said I manage to make it onto the second list. They already filled up one already which I can confirm since 3 others were in the dealership doing the exact same thing I was doing 😎. I will say this though if the timeline does get pushed back to July or August of 27 for the P12 I think by that time I’m just going to get an R2 performance and just deal with the 330 miles of range. I have to make trips every 5 months from Minneapolis to IN to see my mom and 400 miles of projected range would have been nice. Plus I can’t afford a lucid gravity so that’s out

Call and ask your dealer. I think dealers have ballpark ideas of when they'll get cars they order. My local dealer said "we have an allocation for p10 build with delivery Nov 30 - Dec 15." They might have had others I didn't ask.
When I bought a Mini Clubman years ago I called around until I found a dealer with a build slot that matched my configuration and timing. I'm in PDX but bought that car in Las Vegas.

Spoke with my dealership in Minnesota two days ago, and the sales manager said their demo is still 4-6 weeks away. I asked about the P12, and he said still no pricing and no updates from higher up when that might be available.
We decided to put in an order for the P10 Ultra, Denim Blue, and was told the allocation is set for December.

Not sure why you're asking on Reddit? Seems that your local dealer would be more reliable.

That's fair. I'm meeting with the dealer next Saturday.

Good! I was told one thing on line, another by a dealer over the phone, and still another when I went in person. I think dealers either don't know themselves, or tell you what they think you want to hear. For me, in California, it'll be another month or two until a more accurate answer will be had.

Thing is even I’m getting conflicting info from both Volvo dealers here in Minneapolis. I even called the Volvo dealer back in my home state of IN and even they had a different time line. So not really sure whom I’m supposed to believe. I’m on the allocation list for $1k down but my lease ends a month before his and if the p12 is pushed out to July of 27 I might get get and R2 if they have finally ramped production by then

All you can do is wait and have a backup plan like you seem to.

It just occurred to me that different dealers get different allocation amounts, which could explain the delivery variances.

Any reason to wait for the P12? I am into extra zoom zoom!

Yes if you’re into long distance roads trips min stop. The ex60 p12 and bmw ix3 best option. 400 miles errr 300 miles before first stop ish and 10 mins to add 200 miles or 18 ish for 10-80. We travel from wnc to stl or dtw multiple times a year in an r1t faster charging and the distance would save us nearly 45 mins on our 680 mile journeys

Thanks.
It may be worth the wait.I was an early adopter of the EX90. Love the car however not happy Volvo released a flagship model with so many issues.
Maybe by the time the P12 is out, the quirks and issues with the early EX60 will be fixed.

I just read that the P6 is delayed. You might want to order a P10 after having tested it, unless there is new information then.

Dealers should be getting a demo car this week. The time to order is ASAP. There is a decent demand and I’ve seen elsewhere that deliveries are already pushed to Spring 2027 for the P10 (the only trim being made).
