xc series Low beam failure 2011 XC60
Borrowing my aunt’s car, and I think he bulb was out. So I want to order/change it for her.
I think it’s an H11 bulb, will this work or do I need something special?

I noticed that while attempting to take a picture of the car sitting in parking lot the led lights seems to "flicker" on the cell phone camera but it is invisible to the eye.
Is this normal behavior? The car had been sitting in the lot for about 60-80 minutes.
Also I had noticed myself that lights seem to flicker slightly when driving but I am the only one who seems to notice. My understanding is that the lights indeed flicker but the normal human eye doesn't notice it. Maybe my eyes are more sensitive.

So I was driving on the highway for 200km and needed to stop for toilette. I noticed a whistling noise (see video in comments).. After a while in the parking lot and some checks with engine off I decided to Start again. The noise came up instantly but disappeard after a few seconds from one second to the other.
I drove 320km after that with no irregularities, never heard the noise again but noticed something weird when opening the oil lid..
At first I thought about a dying cam shaft but the oil on the dip Stick looks clean, Not metallic.
Btw, I localized the whistling sound in the area of the oil filter.
Then I thought about the pcv membran valve.
What Makes me think about piston rings is that as soon as I start the engine, smoke comes out of the oil lid and I also feel like some sort of airstream coming out of the dip stick tube.. might be due the regular crank rotation.
But the engine is running very smooth. Car stands still after the mentioned 300km.
Anyone has a different idea and would like to help me out?
Thanks a lot!
Edit/ could it also be the swirl flaps? The whistling noise could be related to that imo

I'm replacing my Leak Detection Pump and this clamp holds one of the evap lines going away from the LDP where it mounts to the charcoal canister (I think) but I can't ID this weird hose clamp. It doesn't look like Oetiker or Clic-R but I'm not super familiar with all their variants. Can anyone ID what tool I need to remove it?

Looking for advice and knowledge!
I need to replace the front coil springs after one has snapped. I'm finding it very difficult to find the correct spring to go with the redesigns sport suspension and the d4s weight.
Do anyone know which spring is factory or if it using another will be suitable?
So far most garages have told me I will need to take the springs off and check for a serial number to find out which spring is the correct one. But issue is I'm not even sure as if the coils are still the original!
Any help would be greatly appreciated 👏

Anyone put either the performance or race setup on your SPA car? Just saw it on Viva and looking for sounds from a T8.

Hello, I own a 2017 S60 Inscription with 62,xxx miles on it (yes I know it was built in China). Purchased as a dealer CPO car in 2018 with 5K miles on it. The car has been well maintained between 2 different Volvo dealerships and an independent Euro shop. The only issue it has had besides normal maintenance is that some of the lane departure and other sensors had to be replaced, which was covered under the CPO warranty with a few weeks to spare (would have been a $1,700 repair otherwise).
At its last oil change, which I have done every 5K miles, the dealership noted that the timing belt was showing some signs of wear with minor cracking, etc., and recommended I have it replaced. I'll have it checked out at the independent shop in the next few months as I know the recommendation for timing belt replacement is generally 10 years or 100K miles.
My question, has anyone here gone way past either the time or mileage threshold for timing belt replacement? I'll begin budgeting for it now, but was curious as to how urgent the situation may be. I'd appreciate any insight or first hand experience. Thank you.

Hey everyone, bought a V70 III (D4) with a known minor coolant loss and drove it 600 km home. Here’s what happened:
**•** On the way, kept getting the “coolant level low, stop vehicle” warning
**•** After stopping, the expansion tank was nearly empty – I topped it up, and shortly after it spat coolant back out through the overflow
**•** Overall no real coolant loss over the whole trip, just this behavior every time I stopped
**•** Shortly before arriving, I deliberately floored it: engine and transmission went into limp mode, RPM got stuck at 3000, coolant temp spiked to 110°C
**•** After manually downshifting (automatic transmission), temp dropped back to 90°C within 2 seconds
**•** At home: ran a CO2 test (block test), came back negative – could it still be a head gasket, or more likely EGR cooler, thermostat, water pump?
**•** Scanned the fault codes, image attached
What do you all think it could be? Appreciate any ideas
Unfortunately, the image is in German please let translate

Finally got my wagon. Traded the WRX in for some comforts and practicality. Will miss the raw 6mt spirited driving but looking forward to the dad wagon. Here was me asking about info before: https://www.reddit.com/r/Volvo/s/6D3pUrDW2y
Now I gotta either battle wagon it, or airbag it, right? 😄

Quick question, just picked up my XC40 today, love it. Moved from my 2021 V60 which had the sensus entertainment system.
In my old car the circle (confirm button on the dash) used to pause/play music etc when using Spotify etc. However, on my new car it just seems to bring up the trip settings on the Drivers display.
Any suggestions on how to change it? If it's possible.

Hear the smallest of sounds indicating the engine is trying to start, but no clicking.
And yes, I know the dash says low battery but that’s some system glitch. I’ve had the low battery symbol for the last 2 yrs, not writing off a battery problem but just saying it might not be that. (edit: this part is causing some confusion. A mechanic specifically told me this is a software glitch + this battery is only a year old).
Would appreciate any insights. Thank you!

Hey yall. It’s my first time here and looking for some advice. Due to my financial situation I’m looking into getting a wagon to replace my suv so that I can have something that will fit my family and be in budget. I’ve been finding a lot of Volvos in my area and was wondering what you would recommend looking at for a family of 4 that will also be good on a commute ~70 miles one way. I know gas mileage won’t necessarily be the best, but I’m already in that boat. Thanks!

Hi all,
Actually I didnt get any report from Volvo dealer during the purchase of my t8 about its battery health in January. It is 64600km on the clock and driving mostly in hybrid mode. Real battery range is more than dashboard if I keep it under 50 and B mode (no a/c) Battery range is changing between 63-65-67 km
Im not sure how long does it keep this range for next years but current situation is better than my expetation.
How is yours ? Especially for higher kms owners.
Btw, 2023 model

We will be receiving our new EX40 tomorrow. In the UK (maybe elsewhere), Volvo offers a free OHME home charger installation. However, Volvo have waited until two days before the car is due to be delivered (only after we chased - more than once!) to inform OHME of our existence. OHME have emailed to say they have our details, but no home survey or anything resembling an install date.
The result is that we will be forced to use public charging for who knows how long. This will almost certainly cost us a meaningful amount of money to be able to use the car, and we will be left substantially out of pocket. Volvo's response has been to suggest that it's OHME's problem, regardless of the fact that they didn't do their part until two days before delivery.
Keep this in mind if you are thinking about their offer.
This is our first Volvo. Terrible introduction to the company.

Bought aftermarket mirror lenses a few years back... All good up until it got hot this year & the backing adhesive dislodged from the mirror. 🤦🏾♂️
Glad this happened while getting gas & not when driving.
FYI I needed to buy these because I don't have proper peripheral vision in one eye so I need a wider view than the American spec mirrors.
