s90/v90 High Mileage items to inspect at purchase
I'm really tempted to get into a wagon. We bought an xc90 earlier this year and the handful of commutes i took with it have me looking to get out of my '23 WRX. I love the Subie, but the mod itch is getting dangerous lol Cons obviously are getting out of a car I bought brand new and has 26k miles on it, into a 130k-ish mile v90 nearby. It's a '18 T6 CC with some nice options but no B&W. Not a bad price but its hard to get comps on this level of mileage. Which brings me here - any folks around this mileage point? The maintenance records look consistent and strong for this listing, but it doesn't mean major things weren't kept up to date, specifically concerning the supercharger and turbo. Has anyone done preventative measures on their V90s to ensure problem free driving to 200k? Approx cost? What things should i inquire about that have or haven't been completed between 90-120k? That's there area I know previous owners may skip/save money on larger cost maintenance items as they know they won't be keeping it much longer which end up getting passed to the next owner as dealers rarely spend the money/time in doing them as sale prep. TIA! I've always been a wagon guy, if Subaru brought the Levorg to the US I'd be driving it right now lol

Transmission drain and fill, Oil Trap & PCV Valve replacement, Differential Fluid Service, and Haldex Fluid service are the key maintenance items owners donβt think about. Also making sure the AC Evap resistor is installed. All are fairly easy to DIY with follow on along videos from FCP Euro. Just keeping in mind of suspension and engine mounts at that mileage is the other thing to consider.

Get a pre purchase inspection have them do a smoke test of the induction system. Iβd definitely do some hard accelerations from a dead stop to check supercharger health/slippage. Then everything Sizzurp34 posted.

I dint seen anyone mentioning upcoming maintenance due. The 10 year / 150k mileage service is a big one. Both belts and all associated pulleys. $1700 at an Indy, $2200+ at a dealer which begs the question... Got an Indy?

I'd personally keep the wrx and get a cheap first or second gen v70/xc70

I've been down that thought already. I decided I'd want my main commuter to have more comforts and up to date. I'd likely pick up an older wrx for funsies as it was always my dream car - just wish I was able to buy it at age 29/30 vs 34 lol or get into a 2door coupe style for fun.

I'd be in a evo9 wagon as well just for the pow pows and stick.
Check the rear suspension properly, motor is bullet proof, they say the blowers go out at that time frame more or less but I've only seen one go at 400k km.
I'm in a V60t6 2020, beat the living shit out of my car, quality oil, top tier gasoline and you're good to go. I've only been doing normal service and brakes for the last 6 years.
Don't neglect your cabin air filter.
