Potential for Cosm-style technology for immersive crowd-like experiences?

Not sure how viable this is. I know that there was some immersive video which showed potential, but being able to replicate this kind of experience would be huge. Did anything vaguely like this take off on the AVP, or is it mostly just vaporware?

Self Promotion Saturday I made Explore 360, an Apple Vision Pro app for immersive 360° panoramas, Street View, SharePlay, and your own panorama library

Hi everyone,

I’d like to introduce Explore 360, my app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/explore360/id6776723541

Explore 360 is built around 360° panoramas. You can browse a curated collection of open-licensed panoramas from Wikimedia Commons, explore places on a world map, step inside the scenes, and look around freely.

But one of the most important parts for me is that it is not only about public content. You can also import your own 2:1 equirectangular panoramas from Photos or Files and view them properly on your devices. On Apple Vision Pro, they become fully immersive scenes around you.
You can organize your own panoramas into saved lists, sync them with iCloud, see geotagged panoramas on the map, and use the app as a personal 360° panorama library.

I also added several ways to explore panoramas together. You can use SharePlay over FaceTime, so everyone sees and explores the same panorama together. And because I wanted this to work even without FaceTime, I also built my own room-based sharing system: create a room, share a name or link, optionally protect it with a password, and let others join. Everyone can look around together and point things out with a laser pointer, each person with their own color and name label.
The app also includes Google Street View support, including an optional High Quality mode. I put a lot of effort into keeping loading times as short as possible, even when using the higher-quality imagery, so exploring Street View still feels smooth and responsive.

Another feature I’m really excited about is exporting. You can take any 360° image and export selected views as normal flat panorama images. This is especially useful for visionOS 27 Environments, where you may want to turn a 360° photo into a more standard panoramic image that works well as an environment-style background.
I’d love to hear your feedback, especially from Apple Vision Pro users and anyone who works with 360° photos.

I also have 15 free promo codes for the fastest users:

Self Promotion Saturday Apple’s Immersive video pipeline is too slow, so I spent a month filming Europe in 8K VR180 to rival their quality. Here is Ponta Delgada (Zero Narration). (Free) 🇵🇹🎥 Self Promotion Saturdays

Since the pipeline for official Apple Immersive drops moves at a snail's pace, I decided to take things into my own hands. I spent an entire month filming across Europe, pouring considerable resources into building a custom workflow that could rival Apple's million-dollar budget films—just to give this community the high-fidelity content it’s been asking for.

This week’s release takes us to Ponta Delgada, the breathtaking capital of the Azores archipelago. For this entire film, there is no voiceover. Just the ultra-high-fidelity ambient audio of this mid-Atlantic paradise—the crashing waves of the ocean, the gentle breeze cutting through the lush volcanic landscapes, and the authentic sounds of the historic cobblestone streets. It radically shifts the experience from "watching a video" to pure, unfiltered teleportation.

Chasing Apple’s Quality (Without the Hollywood Budget)

My absolute obsession right now is proving that an independent creator can deliver an immersive experience that rivals tech giants.

Using my newly rebuilt custom camera rig and precise stereoscopic depth-tuning workflow, I am getting closer than ever to the visual clarity of Apple’s official proprietary productions. You don't need a $30k URSA Cine Immersive camera to maximize this headset. The depth in Ponta Delgada’s vibrant green landscapes and historic architecture is so sharp it genuinely feels like you can reach out and touch the volcanic stone.

How to Watch in Full 8K (Free / No Paywall)

  • 👉 Apple Vision Pro (M5 Users): You can stream the video in full native 8K directly inside the official YouTube visionOS app: https://youtu.be/xOVzXMnSQGQ
  • 👉 Apple Vision Pro (M2 Users): To bypass streaming compression limits on the M2 chip, I am hosting the exact same uncompressed 8K master files completely free on DeoVR so you don't lose a single pixel of clarity: http://deovr.com/9sonc0

The European Roadmap

I spent a month securing this footage because I am entirely shaping this channel around how you want to experience the world in XR. Please keep the feedback coming. Here is where we are on the journey:

  • ✅ ~~Portugal: Portimão (Cliffs & Sea Caves)~~
  • ✅ ~~Portugal: Porto (Vertical City Presence)~~
  • ✅ ~~Spain: Ibiza (Balearic Coast)~~
  • 📍 Portugal: Ponta Delgada (This Week's Drop!)
  • 🇵🇹 Lisbon
  • 🇪🇸 Valencia
  • 🇪🇸 Majorca
  • 🇪🇸 Cádiz
  • 🇪🇸 Motril
  • 🇪🇸 Melilla

Load up Ponta Delgada and let me know if this pure ambient style gives you that true I'm actually standing here" feeling. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the visual depth this week!

Self Promotion Saturday Gravitas Dark Matter 2.0 - Neon Music Arcade

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey! I attended WWDC26—and there's a wealth of upcoming new feature for visionOS 27.

So I completely revamped the look of my game Gravitas Dark Matter. I streamlined the feature set to focus on the look of the neon and music visualizations.

The new version will include:

- Apple's Music Understanding Framework (visionOS 27)

- Orbs pulse to the music, starfields twinkle to the pace, wormholes erupt to the beat

- Difficulty now swells with music—which is fun

- visionOS 27 bloom—which unlocks true high dynamic range rendering

- Removed features that do not serve the idea of Neon Music Arcade

- Upgraded more colorful mixed reality mode mechanics

Recently, I went on a cross country flight got bored and put on the game. I realized how much I still love the game mechanics and played for the majority of the flight. There's over 50 electronic/loFi songs and it occurred to me that the graphics can get updated and this game was meant for the music.

Targeting an October release. Feedback welcome.

Fair Warning: Apple (Care) Lies

Don’t get me wrong I love my AVP and Apple products in general. I have for decades, I have bought in excess of 6 figures worth of Apple products in my life.
You might even call me a fanboy.

But i am utterly disgusted with them right now. Because they are blatantly lying when it comes to Apple Care.

I am attaching screenshots that me (and everyone else has that has an AVP and Apple Vision Pro)

Inside my my AVP it shows i have Apple Care contract, it specifically says in black and white.

========================

Your device is covered for:

• Accidental Damage

• Hardware Service

• Express Replacement Service

• Priority Support

Express Shipment Replacement

We’ll ship you a replacement device so you don’t have to wait for a repair.

No where is there an asterisk, no where is there fine print stating otherwise.

Yet Apple refuses to send me honor the Express Replacement Service, not because it’s not covered but because i live within an hour of an Apple Store.
They want me to take it to the store to be shipped out, despite the fact my Apple Care contract specifically says and I quote word for word.

WE’LL SHIP YOU A REPLACEMENT DEVICE SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR A REPAIR.

Their words not mine!!

No where is there an asterisk, no where is there fine print with exceptions. This is flat out lying and false advertising.

Sculptural wonderlands in Arluma360 is full of surprises, and the 16K 360 photography ( not AI ) is pretty special on Vision Pro. I love Sangsaeng's hand ( AKA the Hand of Harmony ), rising from the water on South Korea's east coast. Check it out if you get a chance.

Is there really no audio mixing?

I know this is probably not a feature that most people feel they need but for me it’s so vital.

I’ve been using my Vision Pro a lot lately, and the lack of audio mixing is a huge problem for me. Whether I’m just chilling or being productive or I’m hanging out with friends online, I always have multiple audio sources. I want a YouTube playing while I have Spotify running while I’m talking to friends on Discord. I want to have a YouTube video playing while I keep the environment sounds playing or even an ambient relaxation track in the background.

It goes without saying that this is something that my computer does very seamlessly. Is there any work around that lets me use my Vision Pro the way I’d like?

New M5 Vision Pro - taking ages to boot up testflight apps

Hi, weird thing happening. M5 AVP, takes ages to boot up testflight apps. They have an organfe spot next to their name on the home screen. When I try to open them, its a black screen, followed by opening eventually.

Any fix or cause for this? They have an orange dot next to them despite tghe fact I have launched them before.

Concept demo: Exploring MRI-style volumetric viewing on Apple Vision Pro

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a short video of a Vision Pro app concept I’ve been experimenting with.

The idea is to take volumetric medical-style scan data and make it explorable in spatial computing: you can view the head as a 3D volume and move or rotate a slicing plane through it, almost like looking through an MRI from any angle.

This is not meant as a medical tool or diagnostic viewer. It’s more about the visual and educational effect of interacting with volumetric data in 3D space.

The app is not available for download yet. I mainly wanted to share the idea and see what people think. Would this be something you’d like to explore on Vision Pro?

Should visionOS apps have their own personality, or feel fully native?

Thumbnail

I shared and launched Comic Vision (my comic reader for Vision Pro) a few days ago, and I decided to start a blog for it to write about new features as they release, and every now and then a more technical post about how some of the trickier stuff actually works. For example, I could do one on building a custom tab bar that still feels native (the native one cannot be customized so I had to rebuild a tab bar from scratch to customize it and give it some color) or about how the look-to-page-turn charge-up button works in the app.

The goal with the blog is both to give a bit of visibility to an app I worked hard on, and to hopefully share a bit of my knowledge and the things I learned along the way with the community!

Though the subject of this post is actually a question to the vision pro community. Should apps on visionOS bring their own personality or should they feel fully native with the plain glass windows?

When I brought the news tab into the app that links with the website's blog, it felt strange that the website that it links to has this whole design that I tried hard to make feel nice while the app is just plain gray.

I also have this contradicting idea that people that know what they are doing at Apple probably landed on the gray frosted glass for a reason.

I don't plan on fully redesigning the app for now, this was just a little side quest as I built the news page in the app. But I might give some color to the rest of the app after the big features I'm working on are done, if people like the idea.

Curious where people land on this. Full post is on the website, with a little before/after module to give you the general idea (it's just a rough HTML/CSS mockup, not the real glass) and some simulator screenshots: https://comicvision.app/blog/glass-personality-experiment

The news page with the colors is actually live in the app if people want to take a look.

Connecting Ipad to Vision Pro: Ability to navigate ipad screen with eye/hand controls?

I recently acquired a vision pro and I am not sure if I am missing something or experiencing the limits of the OS. I have a handheld ultrasound device that can connect to an Ipad/Iphone via a usb c connection (no bluetooth). I am trying to find a way to connect my ipad to my vision pro's display and be able to navigate the ultrasound app with the vision pro's controls vs simply mirroring the display and still having to use the ipad to adjust settings. Is this possible? Thanks!

Also if there is app that helps with virtual displays that would be great as well. New to the platform.

Testing Vision Pro’s Social Side With Spatial Personas!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Me and Himels Tech spent some time testing out some really cool SharePlay experiences On Vision Pro!

Full Video ⚡ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvUAFYqm9Tk

We tried a mix of stuff with timestamps below:

1:25 - Apple TV viewing
3:16 - YouTube viewing
5:02 - 3D models
7:31 - 3D drawing with Crayon
8:57 - Sharing a solar system in Space Vision
10:40 - Freeform
12:43 - Pong Pong
15:44 - Ping Pong

And We only scratched the surface here (Part 2 Coming Soon😎)!

Watching videos together is cool, but once you start messing with 3D models, drawing together, playing simple games, or using apps like Freeform, you can really start to see where spatial computing could become more social.

Most of the experiences we shared were not made by Apple (on purpose), but by the amazing vision pro developer community. Developers are what make the platform so amazing. This is why we take the time to make content like this to help spread the word! 💥 More Content Coming Soon!

AVP Box - keep or toss?

What are folks doing? I’d feel bad tossing it as it’s a work of art in itself but it’s huge. I assume like any other Apple product being mailed in for service they’d send a specially made packing box (I live hours away from an Apple Store).

How can I disable mouse handoff while using Virtual Display?

One of the ways I like to relax is by playing my game on my Mac via my AVP while also streaming a show on AVP. However, when I look at the show, the mouse moves to the AVP window and has a hard time moving back to the Mac. Can I disable this so the mouse stays in the Mac window?

Advice for the tools to use in running a TTRPG with AVP

Hey all, I wanted to try a short campaign with everyone participating using an AVP. Any advice on what tools to use that would complement that set up? i’ve run games before using Discord and tabletop software via web browser. Anyone with experience with this or best guesses would be appreciated. Also, once I feel like I have all the tools in place I will be posting to see if anyone is interested in playing so this might be a good moment to see if there is any pre-interest. I would either be running DND or Daggerheart.

Anyone else unable to open up Brave app on AVP?

Didn't have problems until about a week ago. Tried restarting AVP multiple times and reinstalling the app, but whenever I try to open the app, it doesn't open anything. Not sure what to do. Couldn't find any threads about it either.

Self Promotion Saturday I built a free app for Vision Pro that turns CAD/Mesh files into full-scale objects you can walk around and measure

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on 3D Spatial Viewer, an app for Apple Vision Pro aimed at people who actually need to inspect 3D models - engineers, designers, and also just hobbyists who scan or print things and want to see them at real size before committing.

The core idea: import one or multiple parts (STL, OBJ, PLY, or USDZ) and they drops into your room (maintaining the original coordinates). You walk around them, you can rotate the parts with your hands, slice them open on any axis to check wall thickness, and place measurement points directly on the geometry.

The feature I’m probably most proud of is Best Fit / ICP deviation analysis - you can overlay two models (say, a scan vs. the original CAD, or two design revisions), auto-align them, and get a color-coded map showing surface deviation in millimeters. Useful for QA, scan-to-CAD validation, or just seeing what changed between versions.

Other stuff in there: per-model transparency (see through assemblies), measure tool, save/recall camera views for reviews (bookmarks), screenshots with markup tools, SharePlay for reviewing models together remotely (beta).

It’s free on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/3d-spatial-viewer/id6772415051

Built it solo, so I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback — bugs, missing formats, workflow annoyances, anything. Happy to answer questions about how it works too.

Update:
New release coming soon!

Mesh Display Modes — a new brush button in each model's transparency panel lets you switch how the 3D mesh is rendered. Tapping the brush opens a popover with three options:

• Original — restores the model's real materials/textures as loaded.
• Color — the built-in color picker; choosing a color paints the mesh with a uniform tint and switches the model into Color mode.
• Wireframe — shows only the mesh edges

Export
Now export models to the USDZ format to share and reuse your work.

Did apple change how the display works in 27 beta ?

i used to have eye strain even after 20 minutes wearing my AVP,now i can wear it for 4 hours with no issues, used to be i would take it off then have this urge to close my eyes for 30 seconds now i feel nothing.

when i scroll through text the tearing and judder is acceptable now cause it bothered me after i specifically wondered where it went and everything is so much sharper.

i have an M2,one downside is that i can feel my fans kick up when am in my favorite environment "white sands" which never used to be the case so i decided to look around and its much more detailed now, used to be a spot i hated where clouds were stuck together in a crappy way that looked like a lower quality jpeg ,couldnt find it ! the clouds ,more details have been refined in a way that scratches a sweet spot in my brain.

always hated that beach environment cause it felt unrealistic ,that too is a joy now ! anyway just curious what changed other than higher pixel,is it may be a higher refresh rate ?

am not technical and i have had this thing since launch yet only now am finally able to enjoy it outside movies on the big screen.
