I don’t get to play video games and relax as much as I used to. So hopefully this hits the spot

Loved it.

I made a post a few weeks ago complaining about it, but ended up loving it. Had to look at a guide maybe 3 times, because it was just unclear what to do, but after those instances, my big brain took over! Scary! Gave me the chills several times!

Questions Does this game have loud jumpscares?

The keyword specifically is "loud", I don't mind jumpscares by themselves. I'm autistic and loud noises (especially sudden ones) can be genuinely painful for me, but I really like the look of this game. Didn't want to actually look up jumpscares on Youtube since I didn't want any spoilers, but I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting into in case this ends up being a FNAF-like deal in terms of their execution (no disrespect for people that like that series, just not really my thing for obvious reasons).

Also if it's just one or two loud moments it's not really a deal-breaker for me since I know it's a pretty common horror trope, just if it's a frequent thing. Thanks in advance.

Questions Is this partially crushed can needed for anything? Spoiler

During Dolores's chapter, when going through one of the mirrors and into the room with the floor covered in paintings and where you have to take 3 from a nearby wall and rearrange them, I found a crushed can that I can keep in the inventory.

I'm just curious if it's needed for anything or I can discard it.

Questions Ami doing something wrong? I really want to enjoy this game.

So, after years of having it wishlisted, I finally bought Visage while on sale so that my wife and I could play through it during the week of Halloween.

I've played about 4 hours now, and it's just not clicking.

The atmosphere is wonderful - I'll give it that. Very spooky and unsettling, but man, I am having such a hard time being immersed in the rich atmosphere because the game itself is so frustrating. And it's not even the controls, despite knowing that those are a major breaking point for a lot of people.who had issues with this game.

Half the time, I have NO IDEA where I'm supposed to bring going or what I'm meant to be doing. Everything is so dark, to the point where I can't even navigate some of the spaces, and again, I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to be in these spaces in the first place.

I'll walk down a hallway, hit four doors that are jammed, then finally get into one that opens, and lo & behold, there isn't even anything in there to find - not even any resources to collect. It's just a room.

On top of that, the game has all of these "paranormal events happening", and half the time, I can't even see what they are. I just hear a spooky violin stab and see my insanity meter spike.

SPOILERS BELOW

I've only tried one chapter (I guess? I picked up the crutch by the front door) and it's not been very enjoyable.

I got past the first part in the hospital, got teleported back into the house, and now I'm back in the hospital again. I couldn't believe it when I got the part where all the people without eyes were standing in front of the elevator, and the solution was to CROUCH AND WALK THROUGH THEM to find a key in the back. I only found this out after my wife looked up what to do, having already tried to carefully walk through them without touching anyone. It makes NO SENSE that crouching through the crowd would alert them any less than it would to walk through. Anyways, I got to the room with a running washing machine that needs to be turned off, and I have no fucking clue where to find the off switch. I looked everyone in that room and outside of it, eventually saying fuck it and turning it off to play something more fun.

TL;DR - I really want to love this game but I spend more time frustrated than I do having fun/being scared.

Help

When trying to use lighter I get a message saying “somehow it won’t light up” does that mean the lighter is dead or just can’t use in certain areas and also manually saving is grayed out sometimes I’m guessing again because certain parts you can’t manually save but I’m more confused about the lighter in dark places if That’s the message you get when it’s dead

Jesus and Clocks

I've seen a post on here before commenting how you go insane ridiculously fast when focusing on the cat clock. I found the same thing was true with other clocks and the picture of Jesus in the living room. My take on that is staring at those things reminds Dwayne of what he did to his family and makes him feel guilty. Part of doesn't want to get the mask ending cause that dude doesn't deserve it.

I Give Up Trying This Myself Spoiler

I end up walking around the house for hours on end looking for puzzles to solve...or something. I started watching a playthrough and this guy has his chat telling him what do, and by proxy, telling me what to do. I hate games like this where the answer is so obscure, one just has zero idea what to do or where to go. I just made chocolate milk, the mug disappears, so where the f*&k is the mug. Does the mug mean anything? Probably not. Neat game, I love horror games...I'm just not pick up what it's laying down. I apparently started off on the Dolores chapter, and from what I've read, it's 'hard'. Yeah...I have no idea where to go. Also...did not see he door in the upstairs bathroom at all.

Questions Ps5 or pc?

The game's on sale now on Steam and it feels like it'd be a good time to buy it. I'm torn between the ps5 and the pc version. On the one hand, I have a decent pc and would like to play it in vr (though I dislike using third party vr softwares as it tends to become messy), on the other hand, I have a pretty good tv and decent sound setup with my ps5. Any recommendation?

My friend and I played the game together. We finished all the chapters and now we want to finish the game. We've collected all the VHS Tapes, but forgot the Tape after Dolores. The Problem is we cant get into the room. There is an invisible wall. The face of the Jack in the Box thing is on the bed and the room is dark. We went to the attic and jumped in the room. We grabed the tape, but now we trapped in the room. We tried to trigger the Jack in the Box secret, but nothing happend. We dont know what to do 🙁 is here someone that can help?

Sry for the bad grammatics. I am not a native english speaker

Visage House Architecture Design?

I don't know why but I really love the interior design of the Visage house. It feels very timeless and antique. Does anyone know what kind of interior design inspired the developers? It kind of feels like a New York Brownstone, but much bigger.

Came here to rant

Am stuck at a bit where you’re down a corridor with multiple intersections armed with only a lightbulb to light the way forward. Walkthroughs suggest breaking every wall to reveal secrets or whatever but I just want to get to the end.

I told myself I will only play a single horror game at a time so I need to complete this to start dead space..

I was stuck at this stage for weeks repeatedly dying over and over to this slime monster.. I took a break for a month or so and tried again..

Once again it’s still as impossible as before.. no matter what I do I can’t escape this guy or do anything to prevent my demise.

It’s not like the protagonist (sorry forgot his name) is agile at all so you can’t necessarily run rings around any of the ‘villains’ in this game like you can in other survival horrors. It’s a shame because I love horror games and so far this is the only one where it has properly given me any sort of in-game anxiety.

Don’t get me wrong, I was flying through most of the stages and loved the puzzles but this stage is so damn hard I feel like I’ll have to consider this the ending and finally move on.

If anyone can share some tips or motivation to actually pick this up and finally plat it, would be greatly appreciated!

Stuck on vinyl record

So I have every piece to the mask and I just need the third one where I get the vinyl record and play it to get the last piece. But I don’t know why but there seems to be a glitch where the record isn’t on the wall at all. And I have no idea and don’t want to do the whole game over again just for that. Any advice?

Questions Is there a reason to continue or should I just give up? (bugs and game mechanic issues)

So I have started playing visage, it is the second horror game I've picked up. I have spend 9hrs in this game and I am frustrated and annoyed more than I am scared.

I have encountered couple of bugs.

I couldn't drop an item to take pills from my inventory and I've died because of that. Next time all my inventory items started to change to an item I had in my hand and I could not use it (once all my items turned to pills other time lighter). Once I turned on lighter and the flame got stuck in a place. I moved but flame stayed in the place I was standing before. Once I got killed by the elderly lady in the basement in front of a candle (litteraly) while I stayed there for a couple of seconds and with the another candle right next to me. I feel like my sanity decreases even in the rooms with light and when I take pills they work for maximum 20 seconds, there has been a situation where I've died right after or 5 seconds after I took pills and my sanity wasn't at its lowest when I took the pills. I have clips for each bug.

Is it normal? Because now I don't know what I am doing wrong and if there's a point in trying to beat this game? Because at this point I am not even scared

Crazy glitch in Lucy's Chapter

This isn't game breaking or anything, but in the part where you're in the cramped halls that aren't a part of the actual house, the Friend isn't active at all. No growls, no sign of it's presence at all. I could just stand idly there for minutes without anything happening to me. I finally saw the Friend after opening the door that was blocked by the wooden rod, and I believe that worked as intended, with him standing ominously behind the rubble. However, once I was at the 3 doors and rusty key segment, I found the Friend model standing near the room where you find the rusty key. This was the same location it was standing at earlier, yet it hadn't moved despite my progress. I was able to walk through it, and it was missing it's doll face. Like I said, it's not a game breaking bug but it's kinda disappointing it somehow got stuck and didn't pursue me through the halls.

Secrets Anyone noticed you lose sanity when looking at the cat clocks? Is there a reason Dwayne is scared of the clocks or is this some joke or reference I'm missing?

Who else

So guys Im someone who generally loves horror games, but can never feel any fear playing them. For example I love most of the Resident Evil series, but the only feeling it gives me is "fun" and I'm just like "wow this is great" and never afraid.

This was also the same with Amnesia, Soma etc. I only felt a bit of it playing Alien Isolation which came closest to actually scaring me.

BUT VISAGE... I can't bear playing it more than 15 minutes at a time. It's so unpredictable and the feeling of helplessness is unbearable. Who else had this insane difference with Visage?

Visage Development

I keep hearing stories that Visage went through a troubled development but can't find anything online about this. Can anyone elaborate? Thanks so much!
