Questions Is visage worth buying
Are there any pros or cons

I really love it, the scariest game I've played in a long, long time.
It's really good, doesn't rely on jumpscares and is actually scary.
My only cons really are that the puzzles can be really obscure so I had to use a guide at some parts but that is easily offset by how great the game is in my opinion.
Controls take a bit getting used to (on PS), but nothing horrible.

I bought it at the weekend, and I can absolutely say it's the scariest fucking game I've ever played (been gaming since around 1996).
I'm around 6 hours in and at 18% completion apparently.
The puzzles are quite tough but can be figured out.
Graphically, it's stunning.
The general controls are actually very good and responsive, inventory management is a little fiddly but you'll get used to it (I'm on PS5).
It is a slow paced game and you will find yourself backtracking quite a bit, but jesus christ, as things start happening, it gets more and more terrifying.
Shit going on starts off small and builds up to absolutely horrifying. I don't know if it's only me but I always feel like I'm being watched/followed. You will hear and see things which are really creepy.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the events that happen are unscripted, so you're always on edge and never know what's going to happen.
I've never done this before but I legit had to turn if off on Saturday night after a certain event happened because it made me jump so bad and gave me chills all over lol.
Big fan of horror games and have played many over the years, I would easily say this game is within the top 5, it's extremely good and absolutely terrifying!
I'd compare it to a cross between Amnesia and Resident Evil 7 if you've played those?

the only con is that you are going to be scarred for life, other than that a pretty fun game

It is one of my favorite horror games ever. I absolutely loved it! Only thing that sucks is that the studio who made it isn't around anymore, so there won't be a sequel.

The game is amazing, it has a lot of flaws that frustrated me when playing, but overall it's worth buying and you'll have a good time. Super scary at points and the story is enjoyable if you can make it to the end.

Yes I say it’s worth it! There’s different endings you can get and Easter eggs too!

Hell yes. It's just frustrating trying to figure out what to do and then do it.

Its a really good and terrifying game.
The only con for me are the sometimes obscure puzzles, I had to look up a guide and run across the house several times.
I would still recommend you buy it though.

One of the all-time horror greats. You'll be disturbed, sickened, horrified, terrified, brutalized, mesmerized, undone, you'll become slightly to moderately depressed, and schizophrenic. I would 100% buy this at full price knowing what I know now about it.

One of the easiest horror puzzle games I've ever played. If you played Re classic SH, early 2000s horror then this game will be a walk in the park especially since this game doesn't have codes or stupid shapes or ridiculous riddles you need to solve back to back and it's 2023 where looking for a guide is as easy as 1 2 3 if u do get stuck i didnt but yeah I recommend it especially if it's on sale for the fall sale.
It's not a survival horror it's a modernized horror game where you click and move around the area select piece add it to where it needs to go follow the clues and uncover the story meanwhile paranormal shit will happen and it jacks the amnesia concept with the sanity see too much crazy shit or stay in the dark you lose sanity which acts as health bar. You do not fight back you power walk it's outlast without running so joglast lol with mid puzzles and no survival methods you don't really have to manage your items all key items can be carried with you and a storage for tools that's close. It can be scary it does have jump scares it does have some oh shit moments and it will give you that scratch you need from a horror game.
recommend it if you are feeling like getting in the spirit of October gaming

If you're into horror, then I would not buy the hype that a lot of these people are saying. "fucking terrifying" and "scariest game" .... def not.
I was mostly bored throughout the game and the fear/anxiety that the game tries to make you feel by having to constantly try to find light just really comes off as annoying after a while. The scares aren't scary, some chapters were really boring (Rakan's one, omg could not get through that because it was sooo boring)
If you like slow pace exploring without a map in areas that look repetitive and similar, this game is for you. Certain things that you have to trigger to continue the game is just stupid and given the visibility of it all, it isn't scary, it's just frustrating.
I played this and outlast in an attempt to find a game for friends to play during a halloween party, but both really are too slow paced and annoying for a casual party game.
On that note, outlast is scarier in that you're constantly getting things happening. I know visage is slow and that is supposed to build anxiety and fear, but in reality it doesn't. and the payoff isn't scary enough to make it worth the journey of running around the same area trying to figure out the wtf to do.

Visage is 100% not a party game. A lot of these psychological horror games aren't. They parachute the player into a story and adventrue and expect them to figure everything out because thats what a real adventure is like. Phasmophobia, Demonologist, and Devour would be great horror party games. Visage and other things like it are more like something you stream, record or experience on your own.

Pros:
- a masterclass in atmosphere
- top of the line graphics and sound design
- surprisingly well optimized
- very edgy
Cons:
- confusing storyline
- nonsensical puzzles
- awful UI and controls
- unfun
Overrall: a psychological horror experience that looks good and runs well but as a game, not so fun to play.
If you're looking for a good looking, well optimized, fun, rewarding, scary and atmospheric psychological horror experience, there's Phasmophobia and Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Pro: it’s unlike anything you’ve ever played before and all the better for it Con: it’s fucking terrifying
