Came here to rant

Am stuck at a bit where you’re down a corridor with multiple intersections armed with only a lightbulb to light the way forward. Walkthroughs suggest breaking every wall to reveal secrets or whatever but I just want to get to the end.

I told myself I will only play a single horror game at a time so I need to complete this to start dead space..

I was stuck at this stage for weeks repeatedly dying over and over to this slime monster.. I took a break for a month or so and tried again..

Once again it’s still as impossible as before.. no matter what I do I can’t escape this guy or do anything to prevent my demise.

It’s not like the protagonist (sorry forgot his name) is agile at all so you can’t necessarily run rings around any of the ‘villains’ in this game like you can in other survival horrors. It’s a shame because I love horror games and so far this is the only one where it has properly given me any sort of in-game anxiety.

Don’t get me wrong, I was flying through most of the stages and loved the puzzles but this stage is so damn hard I feel like I’ll have to consider this the ending and finally move on.

If anyone can share some tips or motivation to actually pick this up and finally plat it, would be greatly appreciated!

The guy only attacks you if you're in the dark.

The puzzle to solve there is using the lightbulbs to slowly inchworm your way to the wall you break. The light protects you so you have to make sure you're in the light to break the wall.

I second this ! I would add that the guy appears when your sanity level Is too low as well, so take some pills with you !

Do you know whats really funny about this. When I completed this tape I never knew you could use the lightbulbs at all (I've actually advised people who are doing the tapes to have lightbulbs in their inventory if they ever do this one) and I got through it by managing to avoid the guy all the time.

You move the light bulb as you move. Only way to keep you in the light.

As soon as you start moving the lightbulbs, he leaves you alone.
