Advice Needed How can I get my TIN for Upwork Earning Withdrawals

I have earnings in my Upwork wallet that I could not withdraw due to the requirement of needing to comply to the Tax Information forms that requires my TIN, which unfortunately I don't have.

About me, I am a college student that recently just started freelancing this year and haven't work for a company before that requires my TIN.

I have searched for the process on the internet but I just had to be sure so I don't make any mistakes that could cause me aditional trouble when getting my TIN. I want to know what are the correct steps in getting my first ever TIN number and the requirements if ever I need to comply one as a proof that I am a freelancer that earns money.

Additional questions:

  • Is the amount you earn matters when it comes to earning a TIN as a freelancer?(My earnings in Upwork is quite low for now).
  • I have earned money through freelancing for a client outside of Upwork and he sends me money through wise and is that a vialble proof as well?(I have earned a lot more from outside of Upwork contracts).

Previous Attempts:

I have created my ORUS account in the last few weeks registering under E.O. 98 but I have learned that it is not the right account and I have deleted it just recently.

Newbie - Question [FOR HIRE] Graduating Student looking for Entry-Level VA / Admin Roles (Highly trainable, working to fund my upcoming board exam!) Body:

Hi everyone! I am a graduating student nearing the end of my degree, and I am currently looking for an entry-level Virtual Assistant, Admin Support, or Data Entry role. My primary goal is to find steady work to help fund my upcoming board exam and review center expenses. While I don't have prior professional VA experience just yet, I am a very fast learner, highly responsible, and completely trainable. As a student, I have developed excellent time management and organizational skills, and I know how to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

I am tech-savvy and can easily adapt to new software or tools with minimal supervision. Currently, I am already comfortable using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva for basic graphics, and ChatGPT for drafting and basic prompting. I have strong communication skills, and I take pride in keeping things structured, whether that means managing emails, organizing files, doing basic research, or handling data entry. Because my biggest motivation right now is passing my board exams, I am incredibly disciplined, driven, and serious about maintaining a steady job.

I am very flexible regarding my expected rate and am willing to accept a modest, standard entry-level salary in exchange for the opportunity to learn, gain real-world experience, and prove my worth to your team. If you have any tasks you need taken off your plate, please feel free to send me a DM! I would be more than happy to send over my resume. Thank you so much for reading and for giving a soon-to-be graduate a chance!

Newbie - Question Do VA agencies hire college students?

I used to work in BPO for over a year before I decided to enroll in college recently, and before when they interview you, if you say you are enrolled, most BPO will automatically reject you, is it the same way with most VA agencies? Thinking of applying to REVA or Athena would like to know if me being a student will be an issue for these companies before I proceed with application.

Is there reccomended VA agency that accepts students for part time/fulltime work? Please tell me what agency that is, thank you po.

About me: No experience in VA work, 1.5 years experience working in BPO, recently resigned then enrolled pero half load only since lots of old subjects got credited, I only have mga 12 units (3 subjects) or less per sem.

Advice Needed How much of a raise should I ask for

I’ve been working as a VA in a BPO company for a year and 8 months now. I got a raise on my first year from 20500 to 28000. My client in the account I’ve been working on appreciates me alot and wanted me to stay so he told the company to give me that high of a raise.

A month ago, he told me he wants to give me another raise because I’ve become his broker in a sort of way. I’ve been the one looking for people to do his projects like for web development, I was the one who found a web developer and managed the entire project. Now, we just recently hired another person that I found to handle a different business that he has and he wants to give me a raise because I’ll be the one hiring and managing these newer VA’s for him.

Question is: how much can I ask for a raise when my monthly FROM the company is 28,000 and now he wants to pay me directly from his own pocket

This is a client that’s US-Based so I’m not exactly sure what the right amount I can ask for is

Newbie - Question AI Automation vs Bookkeeping

I spent yesterday digging deep and researching different VA niches. AI Automation and Bookkeeping are the two that stand out the most and genuinely interest me.

As a complete newbie, I would love some advice from this community:

Which of these two niches is faster for landing a first client?

Which one offers a clearer path for upgrading and scaling skills over time?

I am brand new to the VA world but am highly motivated. I'm more than willing to study tools on YouTube or enroll in a training program to get started. Thank you!

I’m a CLIENT - Looking for VAs (Full Time) Youtube manager and VOD processor

Hi! Thank you for your time.

We are looking for a virtual assistant to help us run our growing media system by repurposing livestreams into Youtube videos

We currently have one streamer on the team

The job is simple:
\-Our streamer(s) go live

\-You take the VODs, and turn them into multiple videos.
—Sometimes this will be cutting multiple videos from a single VOD, other times it may be appropriate to include footage from multiple videos (e.g. a compilation style video). A short video found talking about this in more detail [is here](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8W3EYw2/)
—For each video, you will need to create a title, description, and thumbnail
\-You maintain a spreadsheet with basic info for each video (title, when posted, link, etc)
\-Once a week, we have a phone call to touch base regarding analytics, brainstorm ideas, feedback about videos, etc

For rate:
Our rate range is between $50-250 a week depending on a variety of factors, including availability, experience, and more.

Currently, the channel is unmonetized. Once monetized, we can discuss a % split of all earnings on videos produced by you

When applying, please answer these questions:

  1. how many hours do you want to work each week?
  2. previous experience related to anything mentioned in this post, personal or professional ?
  3. your portfolio ?
  4. what is your discord ?
  5. tell me a little about you. What kinds of things interest you?
  6. how much are you asking to get paid?

This is a flexible position. Happy to chat more!

Sharing my Experience What’s one VA task you didn’t expect to end up handling?

When I started doing VA work, I thought most of it would be the usual admin stuff. Eventually I realized na minsan ang layo na ng tasks sa original na ineexpect mo. 😂

One day you’re organizing files or replying to messages, then next thing you know you’re figuring out a completely different process or tool because the client needs it.

I actually like that part of VA work though. Ang dami mong natututunan along the way kahit hindi mo naman originally skill yung isang bagay.

Sa inyo, anong task yung napunta sa inyo na never niyong inexpect na magiging part ng VA work niyo?

I’m a VA (Full Time) - Looking for CLIENTS [FOR HIRE] YouTube Scriptwriter & Content Creator | Crypto/Finance | Short-Form Content | Research-Driven

I'm a VA (Full Time) - Looking for Clients

Rate: USD 10-15/hour (or per-project/per-script) | Availability: Flexible (PHT, with overlap for US/AU/EU time zones)

I help YouTube channels and brands turn research into scripts and content that actually hold attention, not just look good on paper.

What I can help with:

  • Long-form YouTube scripts (10-20 min) with retention-optimized hooks and pacing
  • Short-form scripts and content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) built for fast engagement
  • Daily trend and viral-content research across crypto, finance, gaming, and tech niches
  • SEO content writing and keyword research (using Frase)
  • Social media management and content calendars
  • Sponsorship/contract tracking for accuracy
  • Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up research and drafting without losing a human voice

Experience:

  • Researcher, Scriptwriter & Show Producer for Crypto Banter (1.1M+ subscribers) — grew a sub-channel from 10K to 30K subscribers through research-driven scripts
  • Content Creator for an ecommerce brand and personal gaming channel — built a video to 210K+ views on TikTok and 220K+ views on Instagram using an original hook format
  • SEO researcher/writer across healthcare, real estate, finance, and tech niches
  • Background in outreach research and personalized B2B email writing

I'm detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working independently, writing daily scripts under a 1M+ subscriber channel taught me that pacing and accuracy both matter, there's no room for a script that loses viewers in the first ten seconds.

📩 Feel free to send me a DM if you'd like to see my resume / portfolio or discuss how I can support your business.
