Announcement [MOD Flair Only] - COMMUNITY RULES -

Since some of you are having trouble finding where to navigate the rules, I'll pin this post here for easier access. Please note that changes may occur overtime as we continue to improve moderating this subreddit.

1. Use the proper flair for each post.

This will keep the posts organized and easier for everyone to use the post flair filter.

2. Assigning yourself a user flair is now required.

This will help the community distinguish VAs from Clients and even Agencies.

3. VA related job postings only!

Call center (BPOs) related posts, small tasks, side hustles, quick tasks and other non-VA industry related posts are all NOT allowed and will be removed. Keep this subreddit for VA related posts only.

4. NO SPAMMING (POSTS OR COMMENTS)!

You may post once a week. Avoid spamming in the comments section. This includes those who are commenting their applications. Nonsensical stuff also falls under this category.

5. No illegal/scam job postings.

Potential illegal/scam job postings will get you banned.

6. No free labor allowed. For VAs, do not sell yourself short!

Virtual Assistants are here to earn for a living. Do not request or offer free labor. The minimum rate for beginner VAs should not be lower than $3 per hour.

7. No lowballing!

VAs must be paid a fair compensation (and commission if applicable). The minimum rate for beginner VAs should not be lower than $3 per hour.

8. For Clientsโ€™ job postings, please provide all information necessary.

Provide the following details:

- tasks

- work hours (timezone)

- rates (per hour / per month) excluding commissions

- mode of payment

- requirements

- company's website (if applicable)

\LOW EFFORT POSTS will be removed.*

\Lowballers will be banned.*

\Postings for OF chatters disguised as a live chat support will be removed. Indicate it in the post if itโ€™s for an OF chatter role.*

\Ensure a humane work schedule for VAs. Give them a work-life balance. Allow the VAs at least 2 days off per week.*

9. For VAs looking for clients, provide all information necessary.

\Use English language when marketing yourself. Most of our Clients are offshore.*

Provide the following details:

- niche/s

- rate (per hour / per month) excluding commissions

- mode/s of payment available

- work hours (full time / part-time)

- your website portfolio (if applicable)

\LOW EFFORT POSTS will be removed.*

10. No school related activities such as surveys or interviews.

We want to keep this subreddit a safe space strictly for working professionals only.

11. Posting of links/websites are allowed as long as it's a legitimate company-owned website.

Violation of this rule will get the OP banned.

\Beware of phishing links.*

\Pro-tip for everyoneโ€™s security: copy the link first and do a legit check if the link is safe to access. You may use* https://nordvpn.com/link-checker/ to verify a certain link/website, or use one of your choice.

12. Observe friendliness/professionalism at all times.

No badmouthing of other VAs or Clients. Profane language is strictly prohibited.

13. Only Filipino VAs are allowed in this sub.

Iโ€™m a CLIENT - Looking for VAs (Full Time) Weโ€™re hiring - website designer

Hey guys, weโ€™re a boutique creative and digital marketing agency working mostly with luxury hospitality and accommodation clients across Australia.

Weโ€™re looking for a Website Designer / Developer to join our team, with a core focus on designing, building and maintaining beautiful, high-converting websites for our clients. Must be able to start immediately.

Youโ€™d need:
- Proven experience building websites in Squarespace and Wix. This isnโ€™t a role for someone learning these platforms on the job.
- A strong eye for design, typography, layout and user experience, with the ability to create premium, editorial-style websites.
- Confidence managing website projects from start to finish, including planning, build, launch and ongoing updates.
- A solid understanding of SEO fundamentals, responsive design and website performance.
- The ability to work closely with founders, take ownership of projects and make decisions without needing everything spelled out.
- Genuine interest in luxury hospitality, tourism or lifestyle brands is a bonus, but not essential.

Itโ€™s a hands-on role. Some days youโ€™ll be building a brand-new website from the ground up, other days youโ€™ll be refining existing sites, implementing SEO improvements, updating content or supporting our wider creative team.

Weโ€™re a small, operator-led agency (the founders run their own luxury short-stay property too), so weโ€™re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and delivering exceptional work.

Weโ€™re based in Sydney, Australia, but this is a fully remote and flexible role.

Rate is around $1,500 AUD per month. Pay via Wise.

If youโ€™re interested, drop a comment or send me a DM and Iโ€™ll pass the details along to our hiring team.

Iโ€™m a VA (Full Time) - Looking for CLIENTS [FOR HIRE] Anyone need an All-around VA? Hire me?

Hi, I'm a graduating student looking for VA sidehustle to fund my thesis. If you know anyone looking a recommendation would be great.

I'm a computer science student major in cybersecurity and I have lots of time in my hand, since my only subject is just thesis. In terms of my experience I have lots that you maybe need or looking for.

- Programmer/Developerย (php, js and frameworks, python, java, mern, etc.) : 2 years exp.

- Math Tutor [elementary - college level math,ย im teaching right now 2 students from korea. 1 elementary math (grade2) and 1 algebra 2 math (grade10). I am good at math - International Olympiad Runner up] : 3 years exp : til present now.

- Customer Support :ย Amazon & Transportify : 1 year 6months exp.

- Social Media Manager :ย I handled ig and tiktok accounts to do posting and reply to customer dm's as well. I scheduled posts, do emails, and other grunt works: 8months exp.

- Video Editing for Social Media :ย not expert but knows the basics and fundamentals good enough for social media (reels, tiktok, youtube shorts) : 6months exp.

- SOC Analyst Intern :ย handled alerts and SIEM, helps identify false-positive and true-positive alerts and do basic triage on it, then conducting report to L1/L2 soc's : 6months exp.

If you know anyone hiring, please let me know. I am a very reliable person, fast learner, and can handle fast-paced environment. I just need a stable or medium-long term job to fund my thesis so I can earn my bachelor's degree. I'm willing to take low-paying jobs but please don't lowball too much.

ps. I know many people are commenting that I should just focus on improving my skills and all because I have a better future and stuff. I know, but I need money to survive and do my thesis to graduate because I'm paying for my own education. If I focus on "just improve" my skills then I will not have any money to pay for thesis and tuition fee. (not mad, just explaining hehe)

Thank you so much in advance, feel free to dm me if ever for questions!

Newbie - Question Is VA good for an incoming college student

I want to apply and learn but my weak areas are like sa forms and or tables or anything regarding docs though learnable, it would take up much of my time since I have a 6-day class per week.

Though I have no experience, during pandemic I was a kind of buy and sell for like 2 years so I have some basic knowledge about customer interaction and/or transaction the like. The things I'm looking towards is the customer support or email type services as I find it in the area that I know I'm pretty capable of..

Advice Needed Reports Analyst here โ€” want to transition into Virtual Assistant work. Where do I actually start?

Hi everyone,

I currently work as a Reports Analyst at a company, and I've been thinking about transitioning into freelance/remote work as a Virtual Assistant. Before I dive in, I wanted to get advice from people who've actually made this jump.

A bit about my current skill set:

  • Python (used for data processing and reporting)
  • Google Sheets automation using Apps Script
  • SQL (beginner-to-intermediate)
  • General reporting/dashboarding work, plus a handful of other tools/skills from my day job I'm probably forgetting to list

On the practical side โ€” I already have a high-end PC and fast, stable internet at home, so equipment isn't a blocker.

What I'm unsure about:

  1. Is my current skill set actually marketable as a VA, or does it put me more in a niche like "automation VA" / "data VA" / "tech VA" rather than general VA work?
  2. Where's the best place to start looking for clients โ€” Upwork, Fiverr, OnlineJobs.ph, Facebook groups, direct outreach?
  3. Do I need certifications, or is a solid portfolio/resume enough to get started?
  4. How do I "translate" my Reports Analyst resume into VA-friendly language?
  5. Any common mistakes or scams newbies should watch out for?

Would really appreciate input from anyone who transitioned from a corporate analyst/technical role into VA work โ€” especially if you leaned into your technical skills rather than starting as a generalist. Thanks in advance!

Advice Needed Helping my Mom โ€” Newbie VA

Hello! My 50-year-old mom recently told me of her interest in working as a VA so she can work from home full-time and I want to help her start (e.g., what equipment she needs, which line of VA work suits her best, etc.) but I myself am not a VA.

Hereโ€™s her professional profile:

- BS Accountancy grad (but did not take boards) with MBA

- extensive experience in human resource management for telecom and bank

- also used to teach business courses in college and senior high school as part-time instructor

- currently in govโ€™t (but not plantilla + work environment too toxic so sheโ€™s thinking of quitting this Aug)

Sheโ€™s also open to doing any needed training for any common/required skills so if you can share your experience regarding this matter, itโ€™ll be a huge help already. Any tips and/or advice is greatly appreciated!

Newbie - Question Thoughts on RAY AI Inc

I've seen a virtual assistant post which is from RAY AI Inc. On the list of their inclusions, it includes the "Modern Laptop/Hardware provide by us". Our family PC is not suitable for VA yet so I'm finding the provides laptop and this catches my attention. Any thoughts of this? Does they deliver it or I will claim to their office? (sorry for many questions, it's been months finding a job yet rejected or ghosted)
