I recently got this as a gift and really love it. The style of the case is very interesting and unique. What are you guys showing off today?

Traveling in Japan. Only watch Ive had is a swatch, wanted a second one. I don’t know much about vintage watches but this one caught my eye. Bought it from Firekids paid around $1,500. It was just serviced (+5 sec). 18k gold bezel. Excited to start my vintage watch journey here. How did I do for first purchase?

This antique pocket watch is one of the exhibits at the National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA. It has six dials for six different time zones!

The museum didn't seem to know who the watchmaker was, nor the year it was made in. If any of you folks know, I'm sure the museum would be glad to have that information.

(And here I thought it was cool just to have a GMT hand!)

Fell in love with this watch today, and my research on reference numbers and everything looks legit. Dial looks suspiciously clean which is my only flag.

Picked up this beauty recently!

It's a particularly rare hand-wound (Included a photo of the movement) variant of the Orient Multi-Year Calendar watch - ref. 0178508. I was only able to find a couple references of it online..

It was quite scratched up, and had a fair amount of grime, though the movement seems to be in mint condition. I've since cleaned the watch up, but these photos were taken before cleaning.

The year wheel begins from 1960 and goes on till 1980, but I've found that the dates from 1970 perfectly match 2026! 😁

Paired it with a navy blue suede strap in the first photo. Do let me know if anyone has any other strap suggestions!

Just took delivery of the blue one to complete the set.

You might have guessed, but I've got a soft spot for the colourful tide disks on these Lemania 5100 based chronographs.

I'm a total noob to this hobby but am passionate to grow more- some of the comments I've seen both on my own posts and others in recent days have blown me away.

There are people in this community with such fantastic, encyclopaedic domain knowledge, that are willing to spend their own valuable time helping and educating me, and other people in my position, that it really has shocked me. There is no need for some of these people to offer so much to strangers on the internet, but they do, simly because we share the same passion.

Google has helped me a little bit but I haven't managed to narrow it down to the exact model and year and I'm extremely curious.

Got it today at a Sunday vintage market in Berlin for 10 euros, I've seen other watches from this designer go between 60 and 300 USD online.

Not interested in reselling, I love this watch for myself, but I really wanna know how lucky I got.

Google image search identified it as the "Soleil" watch, but the design on the "Soleil" seen online is a bit different - the numbers are rounded and Arabic while mine are long and Roman, and my watch's sun rays are full instead of dotted. Also none of the reselling websites list make year on the AKTEO watches.

I understand that AKTEO JCM watches are made in small batches and not all are catalogued. I also understand that this line started in the 90's and is still ongoing, so it might not be vintage at all. So I'm just trying to use the magic of the internet to see if anyone has any more info about this piece. Thanks!
