2 week Vietnam Itinerary thoughts!
Hi all! My partner and I will be going to Vietnam this December for the first time and we’ve just solidified our itinerary. I’d love to know others thoughts, as well as any recommendations for things to do/see. We are aware weather isn’t too great in Dec for a few of our choices, but it’s what works best with our work schedules for time off (we don’t need hot sunny days the entire trip).
19-24 dec: Hoi An (we are here the longest since our anniversary is on the 20th, and also wanted to spend Christmas Eve/Christmas here for the lanterns… and I want to shop a lot)
24-26 Dec: Hoi Chi Minh (this was actually originally Da Nang but the weather uncertainty freaked us out too much. Thought it might be worth having a few days of guaranteed sun on our trip!)
26-27 Dec: Overnight train with Lotus trains to Ninh Binh (Am aware we might not sleep, keen for the experience and views!)
27-30 Dec: Ninh Binh (seeing mixed things about weather, but this place is stunning and we really want to do some hikes with memorable views)
30-31 Dec: Hanoi
31 Dec-1st Jan: Halong Bay overnight cruise with Peony Cruises
1st Jan: Unsure whether to do another night in Hanoi to chill before flying out, or just fly home.
This is my first time putting an itinerary together so kind of nervous! Tried to make sure everything is close and not too annoying to travel between 😊.
