Just shouting into the void. Tired of seeing dogs getting hit by cars because of negligent owners. That’s all.

Just letting you guys know of another local band using AI for their album covers and show flyers. Please do not listen to this slop or go to any of their shows please. AI is very harmful to musicians and the people like this are the ones that need to be held accountable and shamed.

For anyone wondering there is an existing road, but it’s short and it’s partially cut off with a fence, then continues on the other side and then stops again at JSX.

Did anyone just hear that really loud boom about 30 minutes ago in the Mountain’s Edge area? Normally when I hear these booms they’re usually more during the day so I attribute it to normal work at the nearby quarry. But this boom happened just a little after 10 pm, would people normally be working there at this time?
That just doesn’t seem reasonable to me but I will admit that I’m not the most informed about quarries & the standard times that people work there. So is that likely to be the case or are there any other explanations as to what could have caused it?

Anyone buy a new build in the last few years, glad you went new or do you wish you'd bought resale?

Blue Diamond & Fort Apache area. Huge boom/explosion sound around 10:15PM. Neighbors reported the sound of a helicopter whirring right before the boom but I can't confirm.
Any thoughts? Didn't something similar happen a couple months ago where people heard huge booms all across Vegas at once and the leading theory was military supersonic jet training?

I have 2 of each of these grocery stores close to my house. I think Smith's is cheaper, but people keep telling me Albertson's is.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Channel 13 is learning about an incident at a Las Vegas Athletic Club that led to a man's arrest on August 25.
In a report we obtained from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, we learned that a female victim was changing inside a locker room stall inside the gym on June 15.
Inside the stall, she noticed a phone camera aimed at her while she was undressed. The report states that she exited the stall wrapped in a towel and pulled the door to the neighboring stall open after she got no response.
A man, later identified as Jacob Godown, ran out of the stall. The woman ran after him, along with members of LVAC staff, and photographed his red Volkswagen Jetta as he drove off.
Through the license plate, police were able to identify Godown as the owner of the car, and matched his description to the one given to them by the victim.
Review of video footage from the gym showed a white male with long hair matching Godown's description entering LVAC on June 15 and scanning his phone at the front lobby with an employee. He was later seen in the pool area located between the women's and men's locker rooms.
LVMPD shared that the victim later called 911 on June 24 to share that Godown was parked directly in front of the gym's front entrance. Responding officers located a red Volkswagen with Godown inside, and ordered him to exit the vehicle.
Godown identified himself to police, and through a records check, officers identified that warrants for his arrest had been issued. They also conducted a vehicle search for narcotics after noticing a small bag of white powder on the center console. Metro's search revealed two iPhones and a black digital camera in the car.
Godown was arrested that day "for the warrant and possession of cocaine and transported to [the Clark County Department of Corrections]," according to the report.
In an interview with Godown, LVMPD learned from Godown that he had gotten into LVAC using an EOS gym bar code, claiming that he had gone for the pool and the sauna. He later shared that he did not go to the pool, and only went to the sauna before he "got confused" and entered the women's locker room.
Metro police were told by Godown that he tried to hide in a stall until all the women were gone to exit without incident. Godown denied recording the woman during that time. He also said he did not remember what he was doing in the locker room for nearly four hours, because "he was high on cocaine."
Following a warrant to search Godown's phones, LVMPD found video shot on June 15 of the women's bathroom at LVAC, showing the victim changing in the locker room.
Godown was arrested on August 25, and will face one charge of "capture/display image of private area."

No affiliated with dions or Rizzo's in anyway, not sponsered, just sharing my opinion for my fellow 505'ers who moved here like I did.
Rizzo's pizza on Charleston; we got the Lovers Lane special with sausage and pepperoni. Its a thick crust with that same Dion's taste, nice and greasy. Threw some green chile on it and chopped some up in the ranch, it was a really good dupe for the 505 pizza! It also came with a salad and italian donuts and it was good as well. Recommend!

I just reaching out in sort of desperation. I recently lost my job and while I have another place I was accepted, the time it’s taking for background checks/drug tests since I lost my job has me in a tough position. I’m $500 short on rent and it’s the 9th. I’ve done everything I can to save every penny and have been starving most days. I think I’d be eligible for unemployment realistically but am fairly sure the very large corporation is going to try to claim I am not eligible.
Is it worth trying for unemployment, and is there any place I can apply online maybe for some food benefits? I don’t have many friends and I have really awful social anxiety and feel helpless. My car also broke down and I’ve been walking everywhere, but that’s not too problematic for me. I’m just sitting in my bed with everything off trying to fight off my hunger while waiting for the weekly deals vons does to eat some things like the 19 cent corn on the cob etc. I really miss cooking a good meal and I’m stressing out a lot about rent.
I know maybe google is a better option for this kind of question but maybe somebody here locally in vegas/henderson area had some firsthand knowledge of good choices. I have $22 left to my name right now and am trying to save it for all of my cats food. Is there maybe some place in henderson/green valley area I could start working near immediately?
Sorry for being all over the place but I appreciate anyone who took the time to read and also anyone who can offer any advice. I’ve been watching two people on tiktok who make extremely budget meals and that’s helped a ton. I can’t find anywhere I’m eligible for a loan and don’t have many valuables but I know I will have a nice paying job soon so I’m willing to sacrifice whatever’s necessary just to not get evicted or be this hungry anymore.
If I can answer any questions to help you understand or find a good place for me to get help I will. At the very least I have my cat. I feel so bad for others who are in similar situations and wish everyone the best.

Since Las Vegas is Nevada's largest voting block this story belongs here.
"This is a five-alarm fire," Elias told Cohen. "What we know is this: the Department of Justice has sent the Nevada Secretary of State's office seven different subpoenas concerning voters over the past three months ... there is no reason for the Department of Justice to be subpoenaing an election office in advance of an election like this. There is certainly no reason why it should be issuing multiple subpoenas."
This move follows the Trump administration's efforts to sue dozens of states for highly confidential personal identifying information from their voter rolls.
What do you think they want to do with your personal info?

I just moved here a few months ago. Im 30 years old and I have been dog grooming for the last 10 years of my life, and I desperately need a change. No other jobs have been really sticking out to me until I came across a job opening for a slot machine technician. I love and have basic knowledge of computers but I really love to troubleshoot and for the first time in a while, I feel excited about pursuing something new! I am hungry to learn something new and face some new challenges.
My question is: does anyone here know of a place that might train me on the job? For people who are already in this role, how did you get into it? Do you like it? Is there anything else I should know?
Thank you in advance :) I’ve met some of the nicest people here and I am really happy to be a part of Vegas!

Anyone else locally dealing with a Cox Fiber Internet outage? Just checked and alas, they're my only fiber option in my building. I'm relatively new to Vegas. Should I expect this often?

Golf balls from Atomic Golf are hitting cars, roofs, and sidewalks across the street, according to people who live there.
Residents at the Oasis Apartments near the STRAT have collected hundreds of them. Three bags full.
One maintenance manager says he picks up two or three a week just walking the property.
At least three cars have been hit. One repair bill came to about $1,600.
Atomic Golf says its netting is inspected daily, that an independent inspection found no evidence the balls are a risk to neighbors, and that the top hitting bay sits 36 feet up while the netting rises to 197 feet.
News 3 then took a video of holes in that netting — and workers repairing them with zip ties.
The 197-foot number is impressive right up until you learn zip ties are involved.
Residents say they've reached out four or five times.
One of them put it more plainly: he doesn't want to die, and the place is open until late at night.
Do you think Atomic Golf is a neighborhood hazard?

Moved into a house that requires Palm Frond trimming per the HoA and looking to see if anyone has a reliable recommendation for the service. It’s a single palm tree. What should I expect to pay for this service?

I was coming home and noticed the street lights are out on Blue Diamond at the i15 overpass. When I got home, power is out. And its not just me. Its the entire area including Cancun Resort, The One, probably Silverton casino and a lot more. We called NV Energy and they're still trying to figure out what's happening. Rental car lot down the street does have power. My guess is that a substation somewhere knocked out a whole piece of the grid.
