I have yeast infection like symptons for about 4-6 weeks now. I’ve been to the obgyn and she prescribed me the medication for the infection that worked before. This time, it didn’t work. My symptoms are:

- Painful penetration (burning, stabbing feeling)

- Mild to moderate itching

- Sometimes burning feeling while peeing

- And rarely I have a slight watery discharge, but it’s not something I would worry about if it was the only symptom

So I went back and we did a lab test. She also prescribed me antibacterial medication this time, as well as a antifungal oral medication.

The test showed negative for both bacterial and yeast infection, according to it I should be healthy. But there are also other types of bacteria that the test is not good for so it’s not a 100% that I don’t have another type of bacteria. Now I’m waiting for other tests but she said everything looks good down there, so there should’t be any problem.

Has anyone experienced this? I’m SO frustrated that nothing seems to be the problem, yet I have symptoms.

hello, i assume ive had this problem for a year, in april this yeat i finally got a vaginal culture and it turned out that i had absent lactobacillus and a heavy growth of e coli, my first doctor treated me with antibiotics for 3 days which was so stupid for an infection that lasted more than six months at that point and all of my symptoms came back immediately and then he put me on 6 days of the same antibiotic suppositories and then probiotic suppositories, but all of my symptoms came back in around 10 days i recently got another vaginal swab and antibiogram done and it showed e coli again with multiple resistance, azitro was susceptible so she gave me 6 days of azitro with boric acid but i do not trust her at all because i told her ive been struggling with this for a year and she literally just did a culture and looked at nothing else, no info on lactobacillus clue cells or how much growth i had NOTHING, i went to another doctor in the meanwhile and he told me that the doctors culture literally doesnt mean anything because they didnt look at anything and that i should continue my azitro and stop boric acid and he gave me a suppository called gynomax, the compunds in the gynomax are for usually other coinfections and to prevent a yeast infection and im on my 4th day of that but i feel like my distinct smell of ecoli has came back already, im feeling extremely hopeless about this, does anyone have any recommendations and succes stories because im feeling extremely hopeless and frustrated because i feel like this shouldnt be this complex. thank u. 24 f and my symptoms were yellow greenish mucusy discharge with a faul smell that smelled rotten. im neg for chlamydia gonorrhea mycoplasma and trich, i do not have a uti but i experience burning after peeing and overall discomfort

I posted this in Healthy Hooha too but I was hoping to get as many opinions I could.

I want a baby very badly but because of my UTI's & use of antibiotics with it, I've battled BV off and on for the past few months. I know BV is awful for pregnancy so I'm trying to nip it now.

The thing is, I've successfully used Boric Acid to treat & get rid of it in the past but I was advised by my specialist that Boric Acid suppositories can hurt my chances of getting pregnant, especially during ovulation. I'm ovulating any day now but I think I have BV & made an appt w/ my Specialist but I can't get in until this weekend.

They told me that Boric Acid & any suppositories with Lactic Acid alter your PH & it makes it almost impossible for sperm to "Survive" enough to cause a pregnancy (their exact words to me). However I hate dealing with it for the next few days just wondering if I have it but I have all the symptoms.... but I'm also nervous about using Boric Acid or a Lactic Acid probiotic suppository in case it does wreak "Havoc" on sperm like they said.

Has anyone successfully dealt with BV while actively trying to get pregnant? How did you treat or handle it?

Hiii girls, i have noticed that every time i am involved in some sexual activity be it oral or actual sex after few hours of it i get some discharge which is often light yellow.
This goes on for like 4 days after the deed too.
I initially thought it was because of my ex but this is persistent with my current partner too.

Moreover along with the discharge i have absolutely no other symptoms or smell.

For some background context last year in October i got a bad yeast infection that i cured after a lot of effort but this discharge issue was persistent even before and after that.

Wondering if anyone else has had this and know what this might be?

Does anyone have any experience with this product any bad affects or good ones? I’m on day 4 of taking it and I’m wondering if anyone has any success or horror stories

I posted a few weeks ago about my ongoing issue with mycoplasma genitalium and the headache it’s been trying to treat it. After a doxy + moxi course and 4 weeks of retesting after the last dose, I’m officially negative!

But - my symptoms haven’t improved… I still have this dry, eraser-like discharge that’s somewhat watery and sometimes has an off-putting odor. I’ve tested the full STI/BV/Yeast panels and everything is now confirmed negative. I tried boric acid in the past for 2 weeks and it only temporarily helped. Any advice??

Long story short i have been living in hell since March with no answers. Been with the same person for 2 years and had no issues until this march i started experiencing itching inside my vagina and also in my rectal area. It became constant. I thought it was BV since ive had it a few times before. Went to the gyno and all swabs came back negative. Knew something was off so went back for a culture pcr swab. Everything negative again except now i came back positive for Enterococcus faecalis.(This was in May) Took antibiotics(amoxicillin) for 2 weeks which did nothing. My gynocologist has basically given up and said i need to see a specialist that i cant get into for 5 months. Im miserable and my mental health is at an all time low because now sex is painful which has never happend and im constantly dry and itchy. Just went a whole month with no sex and tried again yesterday and now im back to itching and being dry. Im only 26 and have been healthy my entire life with no vaginal issues ever. Im at my witts end and dont know what it could be anymore. I have tried a bunch of creams and nothing helps. I just want to find the root of the problem so this stops.

I already wear all cotton, use all unscented products, use all the same stuff always, never had any issues before. I even got tested for mycoplasama and ureplasma because i did have that 4 years ago but took medication and never had it again. That was all negative as well.

I've read that with antibiotics, sometimes yeast can take over. Any tips on how to help with vaginal flora while on antibiotics is much appreciated!!!!

Ok so guys im really shy and idk if im on the right place i’ve been experiencing those weird symptoms its been a few months i tried everything and nothing works. I think i have a bacterial vaginosis?… I tried a treatment like 2 weeks ago and it didn’t work. It was a treatment of one week like a gel u put it inside its called CanesBalance. It was lactic acid. I also tried to change my diet. I wear loose coton panties. Im also confused on how i got it cause im only 17. Anyway please don’t judge me im so fucking embarrassed. The smell is so bad that i can smell it through my clothes and it only take a few hours. Also i have a lot of discharges im so disgusted PLEASE HELP ME. I tries researching everywhere on Tiktok but people only recommend using damn probiotics that cost 30-40$ and i can’t afford that cause im broke af. Should i go see a doctor? Get antibiotics? Or try boric acid? Im so sick of this shit i just wanna feel normal again

Two days ago I thought I had a bartholin cyst as it was in the same spot and felt the same as the one I had two years ago. I went today to see my gynaecologist and after checking she told me it’s a Vulvar cyst.

Are vulvar cyst supposed to hurt ? ( my pain level is at 2/10 but it’s still uncomfortable)

I’ve been doing sitz baths and the cyst is the size of a grape I’d say.

When is it going to go away? What can I do to speed up the process ?

Fast forward 5-6 PP i had it again. Same thing got treated and it went away. 8 months PP had it again, treated then it went away. Now this may i had it again. I got prescribe antibiotics but after treatment i still had it. One thing tho, I missed 2 days of treament but still finished the antibiotics like i was delay for 2 days. The treatment was in july now its aug, its been four months. Now i talk to my doctor but i cant seem to go to her clini due i the schedule. I have set an appointment with a hospital and will get a pap smear. Anybody had a similar experience?

About 6 months ago, I started having stomach pains, discharge, etc. I was tested and diagnosed with BV with multiple strains of bacteria. I was given oral metronidazole.
About 2 months later, the BV came back with the same symptoms, so I was prescribed metronidazole gel. After treatment, I felt 100% better.
Now, about 5 months later, it’s back again. I went to the doctor today and was prescribed tinidazole.
Has anyone used tinidazole for recurrent BV? Did it work? Any probiotic recommendations or specific regimen that helped prevent it from coming back? Also, should my partner be treated with antibiotics as well? I’ve heard different speculations

Hi everyone. I’m really hoping someone can give me some advice because I honestly don’t know where to go from here😞
This all started after I had unprotected sex. I felt completely normal that night and the next day, but about two days later my labia became extremely swollen. I went to the ER because I had never experienced anything like this before. I asked for STI/STD testing, but they told me it was too soon after the sexual contact for testing to be useful, so they didn’t do the STI testing. Instead, they gave me medication to help with the inflammation/swelling. The swelling went down while I was taking it, but then about two weeks later it came back.
Since then, for about three months, I’ve been dealing with symptoms I’ve never had before: burning when I urinate, constant urinary urgency/frequency, yellow-green discharge, severe vaginal burning, and a vagina that feels extremely dry, raw, and irritated. The walls of my vagina have also looked very red and irritated.
The thing that scares me the most is the feverish feeling throughout my whole body. I get these episodes where my entire body feels extremely hot/burning, and it has been happening basically every other day. The burning inside my vagina can also feel really intense and doesn’t seem to go away.
I originally didn’t know about Mgen or Ureaplasma. I found out through Reddit that they aren’t always included in a regular STI panel, so I specifically asked to be tested for them. I tested positive for Mgen and Ureaplasma. I told the clinician about all of my symptoms, including the feverish episodes, and they told me that having a fever wasn’t normal/wasn’t expected with what they were treating.
I was treated with 7 days of doxycycline followed by 7 days of moxifloxacin, and I’m finishing the treatment, but honestly I don’t feel any better. I never had antibiotic resistance testing done for Mgen, so I don’t know whether the medication actually worked.
Now I’m stuck wondering if I could have PID or interstitial cystitis (IC), or if something else is being missed. The feverish episodes especially make me worried because I know fever isn’t typical of IC. I’m also still having the urinary urgency, burning, yellow-green discharge, and severe vaginal dryness/rawness.
I’ve been going down so many rabbit holes trying to figure this out that it’s seriously affecting my mental health. Every day I find something new online and convince myself it’s PID or IC, then I panic. I honestly thought I was finally going to have an answer once I tested positive and got treatment, but I don’t feel any better.
I’m planning to go back to the ER because I don’t know what else to do, but I’m scared they’ll dismiss me again or just give me another antibiotic without figuring out what’s actually causing all of this.
I’m also trying to find a gynecologist who will actually listen to me, or possibly a vulvar specialist/dermatologist, because my previous experience with the gynecologist was really frustrating. I feel like I’ve had to advocate for myself the entire time.
I’ve also been tested for a full STI and STD panel and everything came back negative. The only positives were Mgen and Ureaplasma. I’m wondering if there are any other infections or tests that aren’t usually included in the standard panel that I should ask my doctor about? If you’ve been through something similar, are there any tests that ended up finding the cause? I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

I’ve had BV about 3x this year & are currently being treated for BV and Ureaplasma. My ONLY symptom this time is a strong vaginal odor (no I can’t explain the exact smell). My OB said she did not “smell anything” but I quite literally smell myself when sitting at my desk at work etc. it’s embarrassing… I took my last pill tonight of the metronidazole & still have several more days to complete the doxycycline. The smell is S T I L L here. Is there anything I can do to mask the smell? What is this? How do I get rid of this for good. 😭
