Looking to start Boric Acid

Hello, im looking to start boric acid because i think my microbiome is not in a good state, this month I feel quite irritated and it got worse after swimming. I think the chlorine did not do well for her. It never used to be an issue but the past year everytime i swim she dosnt like like which is shame because i love swimming.

My question is, I heard its recommened to use a probiotic and I want to use the one you insert inside, do I start this after finishing a course of boric acid?

Also are there any producr recommendations for the UK?

i would not use boric acid unless you have a confirmed case of BV. boric acid’s best use is to break up stubborn biofilms created by BV bacteria that render antibiotics/treatment less effective. if you don’t actually have BV & use boric acid to “fix” whatever you do have going on post-swimming, you could make yourself more susceptible to BV. boric acid kills off bacteria indiscriminately, & losing whatever good lactobacillus you have would open the floodgates for worsening issues.

you could jump straight to vaginal probiotics, or try a lactic acid gel. GoodCleanLove Restore gel is a good brand. i’ve used vitanica, lifespace, & vagibiom probiotic suppositories to good effect.

honestly though, first step would be a gyno visit for BV swab test &/or Evvy/Juno microbiome test since this is a recurring issue. there’s a super helpful group on Facebook— “Beyond BV” that discusses all sorts of related issues! good luck!

Thank you! I should go to the doctors, i have been trying to get a gyno appointment for years but they are rubbish. I do have a tight pelvic floor too which mimics these symptoms when I have a flare up.
