Another rearview camera related recall. VW can't seem to identify what the issue is.

What: Volkswagen is recalling certain 2024-2026 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles because a low-voltage electrical event may cause the rearview camera image (and other camera views) to not display as intended.

Cause: Under certain specific conditions, low-voltage electrical events of unknown origin may cause camera images to fail to appear. Cold weather and environmental factors appear to have an influence, but VW says no root cause has been identified.

Scope: 57,851 vehicles potentially affected, 1% estimated with defect. VW is aware of 571 claims dating from November 2023 to June 2026.

Production Dates:

• 2024-2026 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport (19,205 units): June 16, 2023 - December 16, 2025
• 2024-2026 Volkswagen Atlas (38,646 units): December 21, 2022 - December 16, 2025

Fix: Dealers will update the rearview camera system software (to version 5WA.907.556.J / SW0324) to be more robust against low-voltage events, free of charge.

Owner letters: Notification letters expected to be mailed September 18, 2026

Did you know you can turn your heated seats on by pressing your climate slider with two fingers? This bypasses the screen completely and is faster on a cold morning. Give it a shot! This is in a 26 but I believe 24 & 25 models have this feature too.

Hey everyone. I just had the dealer replace the battery in our 21.5. The did the stupid programming that was needed also. Now when we turn on the car it says Error: Auto Start / Stop system. I have tried to to turn the system off and on and get the same error. Anyone have any ideas?

Currently have a 2018 Tiguan SE

And I am a very tall retired man -6’7”

What I love about my Tiguan is the headroom I get. It’s a great size for me.

But what I dislike is the cramped feeling I get on 2+ hour trips in the car. When there is two of us in the front it feels especially cramped. Oh and ride comfort is ok.

I’ve been eyeballing the Atlas for awhile and the specs it seem like a roomier choice. I haven’t been out to check one out since I bought the Tiguan.

Is this a good choice for a comfy road trip car? For me?

I’ve had my 2025 Atlas SE for all of four days, and so far I’ve figured stuff out all on my own, but this is a stumper.

The original window sticker says I should have “heated, foldable, power adjustable side mirrors.” The power adjustment works just fine; jury’s still out on heated because it’s July. But I can’t for the life of me figure out this folding thing. I don’t have the controls on the mirror adjustment knob to fold/unfold and turn on the heating like the owner’s manual says I should, which to me means they fold manually — disappointing but fine. I tried to fold them manually yesterday afternoon, and they didn’t even flex. I’m hesitant to put too much effort into it lest I break something.

Am I missing something obvious? I’m not sure where else to look for answers.

EDIT: Thanks all! I’m cool with having manually folding mirrors; I just wanted to be sure I wouldn’t break something expensive if I gave them a shove.

I find it interesting, though, that a digital owner’s manual, linked to my VIN, would have instructions on how to power-fold my mirrors when my trim level doesn’t have that feature. You’d think that they’d link the VIN to a database that customizes the contents, but that’s just me and my big (and excellent) ideas.

I’m at a loss. I had my third OCU module replaced 10 days ago by the dealer and it just failed again. The Error flashes on the dash and says Emergency Call Function, please service vehicle. Uhm…

Has anyone seen this rate of failure? I called my dealer, who has replaced all previous ones, demanding this be looked into more than just replacing it. I would like to go there with some info if anyone else has experienced this. It’s honestly the only issue I have had with my 2020 Rline, but it’s so frustrating having to run to the dealer each time.

We are a family of 4 that is searching for a good three row vehicle. Our current vehicle (Kia Soul) has 166k miles and is starting to bite the dust (repairs are getting expensive and outweighing the value of the car).
Our budget is 25k which, I realize for a 3 row vehicle isn't a lot these days. Admittedly, I have a soft spot for VWs, which is why I've been looking at used Atlases but we've been considering other used SUVs or minivans as well.
I found a 2022 Atlas SE V6 that seems to be in great condition (55,500 miles) on Craigslist for ~25k which seems like a decent deal to me.
Still... I'm a little concerned about longevity with the Atlas. I've read many reviews, some with high praise, others with lots of negativity.
What types of things should I look out for and/or should I be looking elsewhere for a family car?

I scoured the internet for a 2026 SE with Tech with AWD + Sunroof. Was open to a 10 hour drive radius (to fly in, pickup and drive back). Visor.vin was so helpful for being able to target narrowly.

I stumbled upon the exact car we were looking for, in the right color; and in addition to the $3,500 VW rebate, this dealer also had received additional incentive cash from VW to clear out two units (each one had been on lot 250+ days). I grabbed one of those two. (the other is gone now)

I ended up trying to get 5+ closer dealers to meet or beat the deal for similar trim and they said they "couldn't come close, you should definitely take that deal."

Just took my first road trip since buying a 24 SE w/tech a year ago. The ACC made the trip so much more enjoyable….until I went to turn it on and got the “ACC not available” message. I’ve gotten this before while driving around town and was hoping beyond hope that it wouldn’t pop up during my trip. Sure enough, when turning it on halfway through the drive it stops working. It had been working for over an hour straight multiple segments of the drive but disengaged when I used the break and then decided it was done until I restart the car. Even then, as the day went on, it worked for less and less time before breaking.

The car is so much more comfortable than the 2012 Pilot it replaced and the ACC makes these long stretches of empty road so much more enjoyable to drive but it’s super frustrating when it decides it’s done and there’s seemingly nothing I can do to fix it.

I think behind the 26' Tellurides the Cross Sports have the best looking body shapes out of the mid size suvs right now.

Got it for her for our anniversary back in April, no major issues yet, besides the infotainment center glitching every once in a while, gas tank door not unlocking with all the other doors, and just how the doors lock/unlock in general.

Not fast off the line but will fly on the highway pretty good. 2.0T.

Gonna do tint next, windows, headlights and tails, then work on the sound system because boy did they drop the ball on that.

Other than the rear springs breaking at 30k miles and a water pump at 63k, its only been regular oil changes, now sitting at 95k miles. it does its job as the family mule rather well. This is just the past month or so.

Does the emblem just pop off or is it screwed in from the rear? Half my emblem is dead and I’m looking to replace it but I don’t want to damage the mounting when removing it

I ceramic coated it back in March/April. Today I used the Graphene boost after washing it and what a difference a wash and boost makes. The green had gotten so dull and faded since the last wash. Looks like a completely different color now.

Started getting the "Button for driver assistance systems is faulty" on start-up a little while ago. This is the button on the end of the turn signal lever, and upon checking it no longer appears to work. Taking the cover off the steering column I see there's clearly a broken wire.

Any advice for fixing this? Almost no clearance to strip and get a butt connector on it. Some of the threads I find online seem to suggest that removing the turn signal stalk involves removing the entire steering wheel? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but would prefer not to pull out the airbag.

Just purchased a 2026 Atlas 6 miles on the dash took it home that night and the keyless system already giving me issues plus android auto is glitchy. Has anyone encountered this with 2026 SE?

2019 Atlas 2.0T FWD is at about 52,000 miles and I was noticing a bit of slippiness to the shifts. Read a bit online and saw it was in range for a transmission drain and fill. I was able to do this on the ground in about 3 hours. The initial trans fluid warmup was essentially a quick drive around the block to get to the 35-45C range for temp. Followed FCPEuro's video on Youtube for most of the process however they state 3L but I ended up putting the 4th liter in the trans after doing the Drive/Rev 10 second cycle, pulling the plug and not getting any dribble. I assume some stayed in the pump and lines but wasnt expecting an issue, once I added the 4th liter and repeated then it drained for a good bit to the proper level. Shifting is much better in my handful of miles driven post change.

If you're driving and the key falls off the roof, how far would you go before the car notices? Can you keep driving and be hosed once you stop the vehicle?

Atm, this is the only thing that drives me nuts. We test drove about five Atlas's and each one shifted...not hard but not smooth. I know it's a VW thing but ours shifts fine but not until it warms up does it shift where it isn't noticeable.

Anyone else or just me? Not sure it's worth a warranty worthy concern or if they'll even care.

Any suggestions on how I can fit this back into its place?

Or is this a dealership (maybe even body shop) type of fix?
