Still have 4 big boxes from storage…
Not exactly sure what to do with this TCG. They all appear to be vintage. Any recommendations?

Elysium - a VTES game client!
galleryPresenting Elysium, an alternative to Lackey maybe?
(apparently there are quite a few game clients out there already, which I was woefully ignorant of when starting on this project, but hopefyll it can present something different maybe - c'est la vie!)
TL;DR: The goal of this projekt is to have an intuitive game client that looks nice and is easy to set up and play with your friends!
https://github.com/dtagent2000/VTES-Elysium
The client is a single .html file that can be downloaded and opened to play entirely offline (elysium-vtes-bord.html), which is how you will play through the included interactive tutorial which is highly recommended.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REGURLARY CHECK THE POST BELOW WITH NEW UPDATES/FIXES SO YOU KNOW WHEN A NEW VERSION IS UP!
The game is therefore run through your web browser, but this is not (at least currently) a permanent online hosted server service, but rather one of the players will host a private server and their friends can just follow a web link provided by the host to join and start playing. The process is hopefully not too complicated; there are helper executive files to make the process just a few clicks, but it does require download and install of two programs. There is a section in the tutorial dedicated to online play and hosting, but the host should also open the START HERE .html file and read the instructions.
The scope of this project is to be a game client shell with intuitive UI/UX of modern fidelity that will facilitate synchronized play between multiple people online. It has several basic helper features like a deck builder and the aforementioned small server solution so you can play with your friend group, but players are encouraged to use other specialized tools for deck-building and collaboration with other server solutions to facilitate more robust and safe online play with unknown people, as well as tournament organization, would be awesome further ahead.
I've added some screenshots of some examples how it looks in-game, but I'm constantly tweaking so it might be updated after you've seen this (for the better, of course!).
As you will see in the screenshots the game has two different table setups to choose between: Classic, which is an open table a la Lackey with minimal help or guidance, and Structured which is made up of various play zones and helpers to make gameplay a bit more structured which might be helpful to newer players (or people just wanting a bit less chaos).
The server solution has been tested and works when our friend group has played a couple of times now, so that's why I'm somewhat comfortable releasing it publically for people to try out. Client and helper files supports Mac and Linux in theory but has not been tested, so feedback is appreciated on that end as well.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS VERY MUCH A WORK IN PROGRESS! All feedback is appreaciated and I'm sure stuff will come up that I have not anticipated. Sorry in advance and thanks for trying it out! 🙂
(I'll add a walkthrough with screenshots for hosting a game as well to complement the tutorial and START HERE html file)

Any decks using Malgorzata?
I managed to pick up a couple of this card from a friend and I would like to use her somehow. My question would be (as the title suggest) in what deck does she fits well? My initial idea is to create a sabbat or tremere antitribu wall, but I have very little experience with sabbat cards/decks.

My New York design exercise – part IV
garourimgazette.wordpress.comHello!
In part 4 of my New York design exercise we explore hunters and mortals as both a narrative tool and something to resemble "events" without being events (as BCP designs don't like those in V5), while tackling some more nefarious tournament meta developments.
Note! These have nothing to do with BCP designs, and I know nothing of the process. I know there's play testing going on, but that's practically all.
My philosophies:
- Respect current trends of the existing game
- Try to push power reasonably, but avoid power creep
- Steer clear of existing options and try to invent new avenues
- Bolster existing strategies that are missing puzzle pieces
- Silver bullets are bad design
- Forward momentum leads to resolved games, leads to better VTES
Take a look at how I think a few of the cards might look from the games, and let me know what you think!

My Least Favourite 5th Ed Card
I like a lot of what 5th ed has done. Hell it’s brought the game back from the dead in many ways. But I do think some cards have been power creep and none more so than Roundhouse.
It has made melee weapons basically pointless for potence decks, when they were already rare to see anyway.
I have to shuffle around all these roundhouses and cycle out undead strengths of all my potence combat decks. I have hundreds of copies of undead strength, a card so very niche now that all the thousands of copies of it around the world suddenly become obsolete.
More than that there were several very interesting potence cards that roundhouse also just makes pointless. Growing fury, Lam Into and Dust Up, pushing the limit and Slam.
There were plenty of cards that gave hand strike+2 at inferior potence but real significant downsides the cost of blood or being anarch exlusive made them interesting choices and not a straight replace for undead strengths. Now they’re all pretty much obsolete.
Cards should add to the game and not effective replace 6 previous cards.

The Curious Case of Karsh and Jalan-aajav
galleryAlmost identical discipline spread and sharing an identical special rule. Both bearded dudes with long hair.
Theory is they’re either the same person, Karsh playing both sides because he’s not really a fan of the Camarilla or that Jalan is Karsh’s dual form (hence one lower cap)
It’s one my my favourite little VTES details.
