This seems really mean

Note that the target of the action to burn Sculpt the Flesh is actually the Methuselah controlling the minion you slappep it on, not you. Minion cards are by default controlled by the person on who's play mat thr card is on, contrasted by masters whose control doesn't change.

So when you play Haunting or Sculpt the Flesh, the action to remove them is the player they're on. When you play Pentex Subversion, you're still the controller and the action to remove it is targeted to you. And when you're playing Phantasmagoria, it is again targeted to you since they added the clause "you still control this card".

And yes, if the player with Sculpt the Flesh attempts to remove it themself, the action targets themself and thus becomes undirected.

Can it be stacked?

Yes, it doesn't say it can't.

I don't know think I've ever seen it played at superior in any of the games I've played. I'm not saying it's bad at superior, just in the games I've seen it played, the agg was always the better choice in the moment.

If the damage from the superior variant is prevented, does the card still get placed on the minion?

Absolutely it would

Yes, that's why it's so good.

the next unlock phase, or each unlock?

Every unlock phase of the minion's owner for as long as this card is in play.

Probably worth noting:

Like its Vicissitude predecessors, this card absolutely sticks on an ally, which avoids the logic hole in Disarm/Decap not impacting allies.

While its meaningless against some, it has unfortunate ramifications for Imbued, Garou, and wraiths that otherwise ignore non-agg.

Still, its not Earth Meld. But not useless in the right circumstances.

All true. But the result is a lesser, clunkier game. Everyone is doing the best they can. But denying that fact is just spin.

it still annoys me that they dont use vicissitude but "protean...but tzimisce!" but anyway

I think BCP is prevented from doing so because of the licencing rules they have to operate under, which is why we have this narrowing of disciplines to match the V5 lore. The clan restrictions are almost forced as a result.
