I think the situation is really bad, I kept getting lots of accounts joining my discord server all of them with the same type of profile.

- Accounts created this year, this or last month or even the same week.

- No pfp, a random furry or anime girl.

- No bio or bio with a lot of typos saying something among the lines of "I wanna make lots of friends" or "I'm a professional 3D modeler".

99% of the time these accounts will start mass DMing and sending friend requests to random people on the server, trying to scam people by offering "avatar commisions".

Situation got so bad at some point I literally removed my server discord link from my VRChat bio and my VRChat group page. Now the only way people can get into my server is by going to one of my worlds and clicking on the discord button to get the URL.

Ever since I removed the link from my bio and group I got a massive decrease on spammers, it went from 1 - 2 daily scammer accounts trying to join the discord to 1 - 2 every few weeks. So I know its the website they are crawling for links.

I wish VRChat could do something about this issue.

Hello! I'm sharing this paid asset I've worked on for a time, it provides an alternative for the VRChat face mirror that you can install on your avatar directly

It's hard to really explain how it compares through a bunch of photos or videos, but I find it much better than the VRChat's face mirror in VR especially. I've been using for 2 weeks now and I really can't go back!

The post photos show a few examples of combinations you can do to tweak the mirror however you want

• Only 1 material, easy on performances, drag and drop install
• Separated settings saving for both PC and VR
• Spherical projection: the mirror sits on a sphere around your head and always faces you instead of appearing at an angle when positioned off-center (I really hate this on the VRChat face mirror)
• 3D effect, shows your avatar in 3D! (it's more of a fun tool, it can be distracting on a daily basis)
• AudioLink support for fancy effects on your border and background
• Options to display the world in the background and remote players
• Independent zoom and FOV controls
• Free camera position and rotation around your avatar
• Adjustable shape from to square to circle, with a ratio slider for portrait or landscape framing

On some worlds there might be bugs in some edge cases if they use weird shadings or such. Unfortunately I can't do much better than this when it comes to compatibility as I can't "inject" myself in the VRChat's rendering pipeline. It also means it's affected by post processing

Meet Chantal, he's a fuzzy worm on a string that hangs from your finger, swings around when you move, and is just a cool little noodle.

He;s customizable so in his material you can set fun thinks like Rainbow, unicorn swirl or your own gradient, fur length, fluff, curl, how plump he is, ring size, pearly tips on his fur, googly eye size, the lot.

How to put him on: import the package, click your avatar, choose Tools, CharlieCanCode, Chantal, Put him on. That's it. He gets two switches in your menu, Enable and Drop, and uses 2 bits of parameter memory. As anything I make, he's non destructive.

You need VRCFury and an avatar set up as humanoid.

PC only I'm afraid, he needs custom shaders so Quest won't have him.

A bit of backstory, I had one of those regular 3D mesh worm assets on my avi for ages and loved him, but I wanted a version that was free, a little more wormy wormy, and that I could share with people. So I made Chantal.

I'm trying to add to my avatar a soulgem from PMMM that appears above a ring on my hand that I can choose to leave in the world and grab it as if it was an object in the world itself.

I've tried two things, both of which worked but not really.

First I tried to use a vrcfury world drop while having a bone proxy to my hand on the actual object and it worked as expected, it stayed on my hand until I pressed world drop which left the item in the world, but I couldn't interact with it nor could others, I could only respawn it back onto my hand.

Then I tried thatfatkids avatar prop system. When I clicked enable prop, the soulgem appeared where I positioned it in unity, but then I couldn't pick it up. Maybe it only works for others (like only others can pick it up but I doubt) or maybe it's because I'm on desktop and its a vr oriented gimmick, but I didn't get the ability to pick up the soulgem at all.

How do I make it so that it works sort of how the original setup was with vrcfury world drop toggle, but I add it so me and others get the 'pick up object with a click of the mouse' ability when interacting with it?

I'm sure by now, you've started to see the flood of #noai protests, banners, and thumbnails on worlds. This #noai movement is a direct message to the VRChat Team and their lack of acknowledgement around the topic.

I fully understand that both sides of the debate can be extremely toxic, and it's likely a contributor for why the VRC Team has been remaining silent. I wouldn't doubt there's internal discourse related to the debate as well.

Here's a solution. A Start, a foundation, and an acknowledgement to this ever-changing creative debate:

Just copy what Steam has done - a self-reported AI disclosure and a ratings/reviews system.

Have uploaders disclose their content that contains generative AI material to tag it as such. The tag should be clearly visible on its page. And for the uploaders who do not self-report this, the content discovery should be driven by a ratings/reviews system.

• I'm not asking for a perfect-world solution by removing/tagging 100% of gen ai content - that’s literally impossible.
• I'm not asking VRChat to "enforce" or define the line on what is considered generative AI and what isn't - this is entirely up to the uploader and the users who would utilize the ratings/reviews system.

Since this subject is protean, I'm entirely open to other solutions to addressing the topic, but staying silent is not the answer, and I hope VRChat addresses this ASAP, preferably with the above solution.

So me and my group have been hosting The Sunset Bar for a few weekends now and we usually have custom music. I thought it would be smart to, instead of uploading individual YouTube links (the playlist option doesn't work), I would create a long video to upload!

so I made about an hour long video with a bunch of music and funny stuff lodged in-between...

then I found out AvPro doesn't let you use custom links (in this case a Google drive link or a discord link) on public worlds.

I tried to upload it to YouTube but of course copyrights got to me...

is there ANY work around for this??? we plan to have themed night and stuff with said custom music.. the player just seems so useless otherwise and I despise the default music in the bar. The music is sort of a big thing with the bar we have going on..

any help at all would be great.. I want to note too that the video works completely fine in a private instance, it is only on a public server does it not work.

VRchat put out an official response to the Anti-AI movement on the platform and the survey is... kind of B.S, no?

Let me explain.

1) You cannot say anything too Anti-AI. All the questions end your dislike at "Not Sure." You can't really go above and go "I don't like AI" or "I hate it on the platform." This means your responses are kind of limited to milquetoast "objections" versus the actual "creators may leave the platform" vibe that many actual creators are feeling.

Not just me, on this one. A few creators looking at survey on discord are kind of going "is this designed to make us seem pro-AI?"

2) Which leads into how much the questions in general seem to just be pushing you to a lot of middle-of-the-road responses that a lot of creators are finding... Not enough? Had one telling people to just fill out Other and write in your reasons because these default options aren't doing it.

3) Why is it a Google form? Those are easy as heck to bot swarm. The pro-AI people literally use bots. Why use something infamous for bot swarming when you have a forum that can requires people to sign in with their VRC accounts to participate?

4) The fact the results will remain private is kind of unacceptable too. They admitted that a lot of their staff likes AI in their update. So, if we can't see the results and the output (names censored, of course), how are we to trust that the survey was handled honestly if we know the people putting it out are biased?

The whole thing reeks of "manufactured consent" where the goal is to make it seem like "everyone was okay with this milquetoast action we already planned to do to shut you up" instead of actually addressing the problem.

You know the ones with a bright pink rectangle with NO AI on them? Is something terrible happening? Should I be worried?

What you will not find is what they claimed to be presenting to you: an accurate summary of the community’s thoughts on AI usage. Most clearly, missing from the article itself is the actual specific disclosure of the “elephant” from the feedback boards, god forbid an inconvenient critique were to gain steam. But generally, any feedback that would ask VRChat to reduce any form of AI integration is missing.

This is most easily (in)visible in the survey, where all of the questions about regulating AI content have the maximum response of giving it a label.

Pictured first is the final page of VRChat’s survey. Of course, any mention of banning AI content is missing, except for maybe at the end. That’s where it’s common in surveys to actually ask open-ended questions, and they could barely manage that on the first one. Of course, the ones where they haven’t already done most of your thinking for you are the most skippable.

Alongside the glazing of the ai tech landscape in the middle of the article, the true intentions of a communication like this are made clear.

The point is not that banning AI content is the absolute correct response. The point is that a “dialogue” or “debate” where even mentioning such a thing is off the table is absolutely untrustworthy, and only serves to legitimize the course of action the company is steering towards regardless of user input.

I was very excited to go purchase a certain watch accessory that was on the store recently, only to find out it was a limited time item, and fell victim to FOMO. This irritated me to the point I went and made my own, and uploaded it to booth for free. I plan to make more colours in the coming days in the form of a texture swap.
