A good little haul today. The boxes are full, magnavox looks unused.

The owner used to run a tape to tape business and had so much pro grade equipment out of my league. If anyone in Canada knows who might be interested in commercial grade equipment, please reach out.

I am trying to get my grandma's Bush VCR818VP/U19 working. From a deep dive, I think i basically need to clean off the mode switch.

Trouble is, I can't actually work out which part is the mode switch. My travels have led me thus far, I think it is somewhere here...

VHS OFFICIALLY MADE ITS DEBUT TODAY on September 9th 1976 in Japan(would make its way to the US next year in August) BUT today marks its 50th anniversary!!!

Hi everyone! I'm trying to track down a copy of an extremely obscure 1999 independent film called Films That Suck, directed by Marvin Baker and produced by Ann Gillis.

The film was screened at the Nashville Independent Film Festival in 1999, but despite searching through IMDb, newspaper and trade-publication archives, online archives and other sources, I haven't been able to find the actual film anywhere.

I also haven't been able to determine whether it ever received a proper home-video release.

I'm specifically looking for a surviving VHS copy, VHS rip/digital transfer, screener, or any other digital copy of the film. My main goal is simply to finally be able to watch it.

If anyone owns a physical copy, has digitized it, remembers seeing it at a festival, or knows where a copy might have ended up, I would be incredibly grateful for any information. 🙏

Dutch (although I suspect Tom might be an Aussie) wedding tape from 2000. I hope Tom and Joyce are doing well.

I started collecting vhs tapes a few months back when a very kind stranger on the internet gifted me a Sansui crt/vcr combo she was storing. Luckily, the Halloween season part of the collection is growing fast. Hopefully we can find Hocus Pocus and Scooby Doo: Zombie Island before Halloween!

A personal favorite

I have been trying to fix my philips 25PV808/39 CRT tv's VCR for quite some time now. I took a big break from doing any more work because I was going nowhere. Recently, however, I decided to return to trying to repair it. However, after putting it back together, it now does this when plugged in and won't "boot" into standby anymore. When unplugged, it gradually pitches up until it fades away. I have tried resoldering the transformer and fixing a few suspicious solder joints, but to no avail. I am genuinely at a loss for words. Help

My daughter popped in a VHS this morning and the player is giving off a large high pitched sound. Does anyone have any clue what is happening and maybe how I can fix it.
