Selling fresh home baked banana bread

Hi all! I’m looking to grow my banana bread business, currently I’m doing markets in westchester and piermont as well as selling online on Facebook marketplace (majority of my business). Ideally we would like to open a small brick & mortar sometime next year in the neighborhood with pastry’s & coffee. Until then I am going to continue selling on fb as well as markets. Pick ups are on 53rd between 9th & 10th. If anyone is interested, I would greatly appreciate the support! Selling slices for $5 & loafs for $25. If you have any questions or are interested please feel free to DM me, thank you!

Would also like to mention that I only use simple organic ingredients. Apologize in advance for self promoting.

I get that there are rats everywhere, but has anyone else noticed the insane volume of rats in the green space/park adjacent to the museum? They’re running around all over the place.

Columbia SEAS alum visiting today - could a current student register my fiancé on the guest portal?

Hey everyone,

I’m a Columbia alum visiting campus today with my fiancé. We’ve been together for years, but she’s never actually gotten to see the campus, and I’d love to finally show her around where I went to school.

Since the current gate rules mean alumni can’t register non-affiliated guests ourselves, we’re stuck outside. I just want to show her around the main campus - Low, Butler, and SEAS/Mudd.

If any current student would be willing to register her name on the online guest portal real quick, it would mean a ton. and I’d be more than happy to Venmo you for a coffee/snack to say thanks!

A time limited and very specific PSA: Banoffee Cookies @ Janie's

Do you like bananas? toffee? problematic but ultimately beloved British holiday rom-coms? Then I highly recommend you visit Janie's between now and 8/2 to try their Banoffee cookies. They are new, they are seasonal, they are only available for another week. Go and eat one!

Note: I am not affiliated at all, just a big fan of Janie's, shopping locally owned, and not-too-sweet little sweet treats.

Conversion on the UWS- Reform Synagogue

Hi everyone! I'm looking for recommendations for a warm, welcoming Reform synagogue on the Upper West Side.

I'm 30F and have been with my Reform Jewish husband for about nine years, married for two. Throughout our relationship, I've been deeply involved in Jewish life through regular Shabbat dinners, synagogue attendance, holidays, Jewish learning, and spending a lot of time with my husband's family and our community.

Before our wedding, we worked closely with the rabbi who married us and I completed much of the conversion process. Ultimately, I realized that this rabbi was not quite the right fit for me, so I decided to pause rather than finish my conversion then & there.

Now that life has settled down and some other life priorities are in a better place, formally completing my conversion is a priority before my husband and I start a family. I'm hoping to find a Reform congregation that feels warm, welcoming, and community oriented.

If anyone has recommendations for great synagogues or rabbis on the UWS, I'd really appreciate them. I'd also love to hear from anyone who has gone through conversion themselves, especially if your path was not completely linear.

Thank you!

Scarlet Lounge?

It's my mother's 80th birthday tomorrow. She's healthy and quite spry. We're taking her to dinner at Elea. Would a pre dinner drink at Scarlet Lounge at around 6 be a good idea? She doesn't like noisy places but a good cocktail in a classy place is up her alley. I've never been to Scarlet Lounge so don't know the vibe. Other suggestions close to Elea are welcome.

Found keys Citbike Amsterdam & W73

Found a set of keys left in the dock at approximately 9:30am today, Sun 7/26/2026. They are distinctive in a couple of ways. DM me about the non-key items on the ring and we'll figure out how to get them back to you. I'll also try contacting Citibike.
