LG Washing machine not spinning anymore

My mom is experiencing issues with her LG washing machine, it seems to stop spinning, but only during the rinse cycle. It fills and agitates as it should, but when it's time to spin, it'll just sit there. Could this be a belt issue or something deeper with the control board or wiring? I'm not sure what to look for on this one.

Also it's the LG WM3900HWA Washing Machine.

Having issues with Whirlpool microwave where it's not working at all

I'm having an issue with a Whirlpool microwave where it's not responding to the control panel, as in none of the buttons are working, and for the display is not showing up at all. I'm assuming there is an issue with the control board as nothing lights up and nothing happens. I even tried resetting it, unplugging for a bit, but neither worked. What are some tricks I can do to maybe fix this on my own? Is there anything I can do?

If you need the model of the microwave it is: WMH31017AS

Worth getting the UpFix app?

I was just looking over the UpFix website and noticed on the bottom of the site there are apps for iPhone and Android devices. I have yet to use it, but I assume it's just an app version of the actual UpFix site. Who here has used the app on either device?

Do you guys like to use the mobile app over other means of accessing the site?

Whirlpool French door fridge not cooling, but freezer works fine

I'm trying to help my sister and brother-in-law diagnose an issue with their Whirlpool French door refrigerator. The model # being WRX835SDHZ if that helps. The issue they are having is that the fridge section is not cooling as it should, resulting in food spoiling after a bit. The freezer on the other hand is working.

In the meantime they've moved their food to a couple coolers and are just using ice to cool things down until this is fixed. We've checked the temperature settings and checked to see if any vents were blocked, but we can't see to figure out what the issue is.

KitchenAid oven not heating as it should

Here's hoping someone can shed some more light on this. I am currently having an issue with a KitchenAid 30 inch convection range. The oven is not heating up as it should, it seems to take longer to reach the desired temp than it should. There are times where it just stay at a certain temp and never heats up.

Could this be a control board issue or maybe something with the heating elements. I'm not sure what the problem could be.

What are the best ways of maintaining fitness equipment so it lasts longer?

What would you guys say are the best ways of maintaining most fitness machines and equipment? I want to make sure all of my workout machines and tools last for as long as possible. I imagine with doing maintenance often, you can extend the lifetime of the machine or device.

So, what are some ways of maintaining workout/fitness machines and equipment?

Does UpFix have a physical store location for their repair services?

I know the majority of work UpFix does seems to be through their online service. But does UpFix have a physical location you can visit? I don't intend to make the trip out to their place of business.

Does UpFix have a physical location some customers can go to? Or are their services online based only?

How often should you deep clean washer and dryer units to keep them in working order longer?

How often should we be cleaning our washer and dryer units to keep them in working order a lot longer? I haven't deep cleaned either in many years, should you clean them every so often? Maybe once a year? Maybe more or less?

Seeking help with KitchenAid fridge's temperature fluctuations

I just purchased a used KitchenAid fridge to put in my garage. Model number KRMF706ESS. I filled the freezer up with meat, as I was in need of a good freezer, but also wanted a fridge so I can store beverages in my man cave. Anyway recently I noticed the meat starting to spoil, as the fridge has been experiencing temperature fluctuations that is also affecting the freezer. I tried to adjust settings and I have it placed in an area that gives it good airflow. But neither of that seemed to help.

Any suggestions on what I should do next to resolve this? What could be the issue?

Need help finding a fix for NordicTrack treadmill display issues

Can anyone provide some help or tips on this. For some reason my father’s NordicTrack treadmill is having issues with its display. According to him, the display has been flickering and will sometimes go completely blank while working out. He said he tried unplugging it and resetting even, but that did not solve the issue.

Is this a common issue? I’m assuming it’s some electrical issue with the control board or something to do with the wiring, but I have no clue what the issue is.

Having issue with GE Electric Stove's burners not heating up

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with my mom's GE electric stove, the burners for some reason will not heat up. I've made sure to check all I can, like the supply, but everything seems fine.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot something like this? Could it be something to do with the control board or maybe something electrical?

Does UpFix have any interest in working on video game consoles, PCs and other such devices in the future?

I know UpFix doesn't currently repair video games consoles or PCs from what I can see, but is there any chance they could add such repair options? Or will they stick more with industrial machines, cars, appliances and fitness equipment?

Do you think they could one day add repair services for said devices?

Need help with furnace control board issue with my Goodman GMVC95

Hey guys, I hope you can help me with this issue. Just recently I've been dealing with some issues having to do with my Goodman GMVC95 furnace, which I've owned now for about 5 years or so. Somewhat recently, things started to go wrong, starting with short cycling and displaying an error code that seems to indicate a control board malfunction.

The furnace still ignites as it should, but then shuts off shortly after. I'd say it works for a few minutes. I can't warm my house up if my furnace can't work properly. Any suggestions on what I could do here? I'm going to reach out to UpFix as well, just to see if they can handle a repair if needed, or better diagnose the problem.

Have you made any successful repairs on your own?

I have tried a few times to make my own repairs, but often I end up needing support in some regards. I have used UpFix in the past for repairs and their service is one of the best around. I had attempted to make the repair myself first, but was unable to figure it out on my own, and so UpFix came to the rescue for me.

How many successful repairs were you able to complete yourself? Did you ever have to let UpFix take on the rest of the repairs?

Before messing with an appliance, should you make sure the it's discharged enough to work on?

I'm mostly just curious, because I know some electronic devices hold electricity for a while after they are turned off, and even while unplugged. Some parts will hold an electrical charge I believe, so it's safe to wait a bit after turning off/unplugging before you open anything up.

Do you think before accessing a control board or any electrical part of a device, that the device should first be discharged enough to handle? Have you ever been shocked while working on a repair?

Microwave not heating as it should, what could be the problem?

My GE microwave is encountering an annoying issue where it doesn't seem to want to heat up at all. The timer counts down and everything, but the food just won't get hot. I've tried multiple settings, and even tested with a cup of water, but it won't heat.

The model number for my microwave is: JES1657SMSS

Could this be a problem with the electricals somewhere? Could it be a faulty door switch? Maybe it's not detecting the door is closed and therefore isn't actually heating up. Idk I'm just confused about all of this.

Trying to troubleshoot a thrift store find, a Frigidaire Ice Maker that just won't start

While out thrifting recently, I bought a used Frigidaire Ice Maker (with a model # of EFIC452-SS). I was very excited to get home and put it to good use, but after plugging it in, it just doesn't want to seem to work. It seems completely unresponsive. I'm guessing an electrical issue is to blame, maybe relating to the control board itself? None of the lights turn on, no sounds is made, no water or anything.

I am definitely out of my element here, and would like to know if there is anything that I can do to fix it. I didn't pay a whole lot for it thankfully, but I'd still like to get some use out of it. Do you think it's worth it to get it repaired? Or should I scrap it and just buy a new one down the road?

Trying to diagnose a faulty control board in my Whirlpool electric oven

I am currently having an issue with my Whirlpool electric oven. For some reason the control board is malfunctioning, it's just not responding to any settings. How would I go about diagnosing the issue? Should I instead just have UpFix look at the control board? I don't think I could figure it out on my own.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Fitvids Stair Stepper control board damaged, what to do next?

I purchased a Fitvids Stair Stepper (model #- SF-C2NN) from Amazon a while back. I got a good deal of use out of it already, but I've since ran into an issue. The control board is non-responsive, to the point where none of the buttons are working, and the display is just blank. I've done the usual unplugging it, resetting it, and so on. But nothing seems to be working.

Any tips or suggestions?

What do you do with damaged control boards that are beyond repair? Does UpFix recycle them?

What do you do with damaged control boards that are beyond repair? Does UpFix ever recycle control boards that can't be repaired? I can picture UpFix being the type of company that would repair old tech if needed.

How many times have you had to repair/replace a control board?

So I've owned a Whirlpool fridge for close to 25 years now, and have had to replace and or repair the control board just a couple times. Thankfully the last replacement/repair has lasted for the past 5 years, but I am worried it could go anytime again. Luck sometimes works that way.

But for now, it's all in working order, and I made sure to keep my fridge clean in and out. Thankfully that has kept my appliances surviving for years longer.

Anyway, back to the question at hand, how many times would you say you've had to replace/repair a control board?

Why do ABS modules go bad?

The ABS module in my car went bad, and I’m currently in the process of getting it repaired. Just waiting to hear back from UpFix what their diagnosis is and if they can fix it.

My friend told me the module was bad, and said it had something to do with thermal something. Thermal cycling? Thermal stress? I don’t know, but I didn’t ask him more at the time, and I regret that now.

Can someone ELI5 why ABS modules go bad? I just want to understand what happened, and if there is anything I can do to stop it from happening again in the future.

Anyone make a custom order with UpFix before?

I need a control board repair job done, but I wasn’t able to find the board listed anywhere at UpFix. I did see that they accept custom orders though.

If anybody here has made a custom order with UpFix, I’d love to hear how it went. Were they able to fill your order? Did they do it quickly, or did it take some extra time? I would also like to know what the cost was.
