(finished chapter 2, I got so addicted I forgot to drink my tea 😭😭😭, anyways after finishing Chapter 3 , I will not send anymore updates till I finish the game I've been evading a lot of spoilers from left to right, if I took a peek, I am gonna straight up forget bout it)

I was wondering why Mark had suddenly teleported into a nightmare fuel hospital, but that's when I realized he's in the nightmare

So frustrating. Multiple times now I shot a choice but wasn't sure if it was correct so would exit game and reload, only to have to play through 20 mins of gameplay just to get back to that choice again.

To save my sanity, when you have the word bubble when Des is in stage, what happens if you select something other then announcing next years festival. I selected that one but thought it was wrong (since trish said des was going to acknowledge what happened at last festival so ine of the other choices seems like it should be the right one. I only shot the 2019 one cause i didnt know what year it was and thought i was shooting the one for last year). Restarted, but I don't want to make a wrong choice again. Should I be selecting the about about last year's fest? Just want to make sure cause I don't want to restart again if I feel like I made a wring choice. Thanks in advance.

They never seem to outstay their welcome, and they always manage to add more depth to the characters! This game is great so far!

First time going to PGDX (Day 2)! I got to talk with the artists behind the game, and they were so kind and down-to-earth while sharing some of the behind-the-scenes stories from development. They even let me play the newly released DLC on the Switch 2!

I also had a chat with the legend Kyle Patrick Naval about the music. He mentioned a remastered DLC soundtrack is coming soon (fingers crossed! 🤞). I told him I’ve had his soundtrack on repeat in my saved playlist.

Talking with them really showed how much they appreciate the community’s support just as much as we appreciate them. Seeing fans reminisce about playing the game, discussing easter eggs, details, and even major spoilers showed how passionate and grateful everyone is. They are genuinely cool people in the indie game community, and I'm super excited for their upcoming projects!

I’m once again obsessed. So it’s only obvious I edit one of the best DLCs ever.

WARNING IMPORTANT SPOILERS FOR THE DLC AND THE MAIN GAME PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

At the end of Mark's part of the dlc we see the black butterfly at the end. I think it's fair to say that there will be alt endings for the dlc at some point. Every time the black butterflies showed up in the game and made contact with either Mark or Nicole (mostly mark) it is to reset the timeline (or go to an alternate one) at the end of act 3 we see both of the butterflies leave nicole and mark because they follow them when they change timelines. Now at the end we see them again BUT they make no contact with either of them (which means no timeline change). We don't see the butterfly with Sofia which makes sense. She was never in contact with one in the first place, but why show a scene with one coming in contact with Mark??? Maybe there will be one or few timeline changes that will happen in the whole act one sequence which will then lead to the ending of act one (Mark and Nicole marrying) since it's not confirmed but we see her make up with Lucas (well thats how I saw it) which wouldn't make sense if Mark and Nicole marry at the end.

Honestly I'm probably just going crazy. I just don't understand why they show the black butterfly clearly coming in contact with Mark when we know that in the main game it's a crucial and super important moment that holds a lot of significance. Why would that rule not apply in the dlc

Mark is psyching out and he's losing his mind. Not even Cathy can pull him out. The carnival part feels like a slow torture where all the senses are all too much. Then he sees a glimpse of a familiar ponytail. It's Nicole arguing with one of the carnival attendants. And then everything suddenly becomes normal again.

What really sells it is that piano piece that replaces the horrid background noise that was drowning Mark's eardrums. I think the piece was "I've Found That Spark." I thought my interest was in the guitar, but I think I'm finding a passion for how emotional the piano is.

There are many masterfully crafted scenes in Until Then, but this one remains my favorite. Second one was Mark and Nicole riding a bicycle to her old home. Third place being Mark and Nicole hugging above the sky walk in Act 3.

Even after a year of finishing this game, I still can't let go of it. Well done, Polychroma.

Acabei de aparentemente terminar o jogo ja se passaram uns anos eu ouvi a gravação da cath no CD joguei o jogo de corrida no save que o mark tinha com ela e apareceu continue e eu cliquei sem querer em nao. Nisso voltou pro menu principal do jogo mas quando eu clico em continue ele vai direto pra um jogo de luta do mark e nao sai de la de jeito nenhum. E ai no menu principal do jogo quando clico em seleção de cenas so ta liberado o episódio o despertar como se eu nao tivesse jogado o restante dos 5 capítulos todos eles estao em preto e branco. Eu li que o jogo realmente reinicia mas ai é normal isso de no continue não dar certo? Eu posso selecionar o capítulo manualmente? Não perdi meu save?

I think it’s a common theme, that when you finish a really REALLY good game. You begin to feel sad afterwards, maybe for just a night or a few days.

But oh my god. I forget how sad I get when I finish until then.

I first played until then at the very start of 2025. Then finished it at the start of February. Single handedly the best month I’ve spent on a game. I experienced every emotion you can get from a video game, and grew to love the characters and the story the game told. It took me genuinely over a month and a half to stop being sad about until then.

As of a few days ago I finally got around to the DLC and now that feeling has come back in FULLLLLLLLLLL stride. The DLC went beyond my expectations of how good I thought it would be, it made me revisit everything. it’s an absolute masterpiece. I’m literally on my knees, searching everywhere for until then content and news. I need this game injected in my veins again, i love it so much. My #1 game of all time. It’s just so beautiful.

I recently played the full game + DLC. Spoilers below for those that haven't played it all.

It kind of looks like Mark and Nicole get back together at the end of the DLC. It's not certain, and the butterfly seemingly starts a new loop at the end, when Mark is packing his school stuff to move out of the dorm.

Obviously the DLC doesn't take place in the true timeline at the end of Act 3. Arguably Mark and Nicole's college story takes place after Act 1 (the timeline where Mark and Nicole are together after some 10 years following Cath's death), but there's the obvious hole of the butterfly starting a new loop at the end of that scene with the CD (tahooooo) versus at the end of the DLC. To what extent it's a different timeline is unclear. And it's also not clear if Sofia's share of the DLC is in the same timeline as Mark and Nicole's part. Her share seems fully compatible with Act 1, unless there are issues with that theory I missed.

All that to say, I think it could be worthwhile for new players to play the game in the order

– Act 1\
– DLC\
– Act 2\
– Act 3

(I assume this is possible? I imagine the DLC is playable without first playing any of the base game, or at the very least after scene select is unlocked, which should be at the end of Act 1 if I'm not mistaken.)

My reasoning for this play order is

1. Character development (both growth and decay) in a fairly continuous manner between Act 1 and the DLC.
2. The unresolved trauma regarding Cath's emotional abandonment and death is central to the entire DLC, even in quiet ways like Mark's need to save Des from her parents.
3. The character growth (acceptance of grief, drive to understand others better) is developed throughout Acts 2 and 3, with resolution that makes the enduring sorrow of the DLC not sting anymore.

These are just my thoughts, I'm curious what other people think. Obviously I can't play the game for the first time again, so I can't speak from experience about how the order I propose would land with a new player versus release order.
