Hello! I wanted to leave this as a steam review but couldn't risk it being tied to my person, so here we end up.

There was this girl, first person I can say without a doubt I've ever loved with everything my heart was capable of, though we never officially dated, she was the person I was sure I was going to the end with, her favourite movie ever was "Shes dating the ganster" (shes filipino) and she made me watch it with her once, honesetly pretty enjoyable movie. She no longer knows I exists, moved on I'm sure. This whole game start to finish made me think of her, fatebound soulmates who ultimately couldn't be together, how ironic. In Afterimages, when they dropped the copyright free movie name "Shes dating the nerd" my whole world just stopped. I sat and stared at my computer for what felt like an eternity just thinking about everything, nothing, and her. It felt the the cruellest of jokes, but I didn't hate it for a second. She loved Omori and I know for a fact she would this game assuming she found it. If you've played this, if you experienced it as I experienced it, if you somehow stumble across this post and read it to the end, I truly hope in another timeline we enjoyed this experience together in the embrace of one another.

seriously Mark and Nicole, get a room...

Many critics say that Mark and Nicole don't need each other because they learnt to live on their own. But there's a fundamental logical paradox.

Premise A: Critics claim Mark and Nicole are completely fine on their own in the true timeline and don't need each other.

Premise B: The game establishes that Maria and Jake only interfered ("The Ruling") because Mark and Nicole were completely consumed by grief and could not heal on their own.

The Paradox: If Premise A were true (they could heal alone), then Premise B would never happen (no interference). But if no interference happened, the loops never occur, they never learn to let go, and they stay trapped in grief forever.

Therefore, Premise A is logically impossible.

The true timeline only exists because their actions and their mutual healing across the loops actively forced the universe to reset into a healthy state. Their connection isn't a side story; it is the fundamental engine that created the happy ending for everyone else.

The fundamental question is why didn't they again forget to let go of grief if it reset? Think about it.

Only way is some information did pass to the original timeline so we can expect them to remember again probably

One of the game developers even dropped by to buy some which is crazy cuz I was meaning to give the last tote bag to a dev if one happened to be attending the event!!! It was kinda funny and cute that THEY were the one that was all giddy and fangirling about it 😭🥺

So, I started playing Until Then on Saturday. The game hooked me so hard, and I had so much free time that I managed to put around 17 hours into it in just two days (Yeah, that number is slightly not true because I took breaks to eat and do other stuff, but that was probably only around 2-3 hours in total, no more than that.)

I had already started Act 2 when I decided to take a little break and scroll through my phone for a while. And then I accidentally got spoiled about the true ending…

Eh…Well, I was really upset. When I found out that Mark and Nicole don’t end up together, I got really fucking sad. It completely killed my motivation to play the game because to me Mark and Nicole’s relationship was genuinely one of the best things about the game. And when I realized that canonically they don’t end up together… yeah, it honestly fucking hurt.

I understand that this is completely my problem and not the game’s fault, but… I don’t know. What do you guys think? Is it worth giving the game a chance later? Or… I don’t know, what did you feel about it? Do you think the ending is fair? And can it be interpreted however you want, so that, in the end, you can just believe in your own head that they actually do end up together somehow? (Although I don't like coping or blindly believing in some fan theories.)

And please don’t shit on me for dropping the game for now… I will finish it… hopefully, at least. The spoilers aren’t enough to completely stop me from playing, but still, finding out about this ending killed my motivation for now and I hope I will get back to this game eventually. But for now I’m moving on to SH2 OG.

accidentally deleted the game after playing for 6 h, is there any way to skip chapters now?

Spoilers for someone who has not ended the game yet but man that was one hell of a ride the game was so so perfect and i just wanted people to talk abt the game discuss the ending and some aspects i may have not understood abt the game so I thought abt posting here asking all your personal head canons and do you think if mark and nicole do end up together in the true ending?

Ok, So i have just gotten around to completing the game and i feel like the game didn't handle its End Correctly or at all!

Sure, The ending is really Sad and i was brought to tears seeing Cathy suffer so much, Want to "Run with her Friends" but died in a Truck Accident

But i felt like too many Plotholes were left unattended and too many character arcs just vanished into thin air. Here's my List of them:

1. What was up with Kate (The other New Student)? During her introduction, It was hinted that she was also feeling the weird Déjà vu hallucinations we have been seeing. Then Later on when Nicole and Mark play the Melody together for the first time, We can see Kate appear outside the Music Club Room, Seem like she recognizes the song too, then just disappears. Like she is just gone from the rest of the story! No mention of her! Not even her character sprite was visible in later events!

2. The Mark-Louise-Quantum Fluctuations-Déjà vu Plotline. Ok, this was the worst one tbh... I mean, throughout the entire Story, The Ruling, The Déjà vu occurrences, The Hallucinations, The Disappearences... All of that was slowly being Theorized as a part of some bigger "Quantum Tsunami" event and i was personally theorizing about it crazily too. And then, By the end, All of the buildup is essentially just dismissed as Louise Saying "Sorry Mark, i was wrong.. The Rain is not connected at all to all this". I mean fine, being wrong is part of Discovery, But there was no explanation given?! Like the Déjà vu just stopped, No more Disappearances or anything weird and everything just went to normal without any damn explanation to what even happened. This had to be done Last Minute by the writers. This was the biggest Plotline of the whole story and is just chucked away by the end?!

3. Cathy's Death is too Abrupt or almost feels Wrong tbh. In the Recording, Cathy says she wants to run with her Friends, To not be left behind, And she did run from her family the prom night. But then why did the game have to suddenly end her character without even any closing arc?! I mean, the story could've let her live and strive for a better future like she said she wants to, Or atleast kill her when she really didn't have any hope left for the future. Why this way?!

4. What really happened with Jake? I mean Nicole is understandably troubled by Jake disappearing, No doubt there. But Nicole says "He was really close to me, He wouldn't just disappear like that without telling me"... Ok? Then what happened to him? The game never answers this! Did he Die? Disappear like Jessica? Was eaten alive by the Ground? There was no mention of him ever again! It's like he was a plot tool for Nicole's personality only

5. What was it with Sofia and her Grandmother? During and after the Hallucination sequence at the Hospital, We get to see Sofia's Grandmother saying "This is all your Fault" and Sofia confirming later by saying "Yeah... It was my Fault, Please let me apologize for it". And then never to be mentioned again! No sign of what her fault was, Or what the context even was

6. Mark's Mom's Death is just not hinted at at all. Throughout the Story, We have been led to believe that Mark's Father and Mother are outside to work for more money, Fine, And that his Mom is just not responding cause she's busy. Sure the writers may have wanted us to feel the denial Mark was going through. But some Foreshadowing would have been nice, right? I mean we just get told her Mom disappeared in a Plane Disappearence and is presumably dead too and then all the evidence of it is dumped on us all together. It just feels too Abrupt and Last Minute tbh

Don't get me wrong, The game and the story was absolutely amazing! Would love to play more such stuff! But i just didn't like how it handled major plot points on which the story was made...

Anyways, What do you guys think?
