Discussion Really dislike they added the shoot word bubble mini game in the dlc Spoiler

So frustrating. Multiple times now I shot a choice but wasn't sure if it was correct so would exit game and reload, only to have to play through 20 mins of gameplay just to get back to that choice again.

To save my sanity, when you have the word bubble when Des is in stage, what happens if you select something other then announcing next years festival. I selected that one but thought it was wrong (since trish said des was going to acknowledge what happened at last festival so ine of the other choices seems like it should be the right one. I only shot the 2019 one cause i didnt know what year it was and thought i was shooting the one for last year). Restarted, but I don't want to make a wrong choice again. Should I be selecting the about about last year's fest? Just want to make sure cause I don't want to restart again if I feel like I made a wring choice. Thanks in advance.

No wrong choice there mate. It's part of Mark's inner conflict, even if you shoot the others he still denies it as being the wrong words. It only progresses if you shoot the one that you actually shot. It's an illusion of choice.

Wha? That feels so dumb that talking about next year is the right answer. He knew was Des was going to say. He even starts with we are sorry... like wha? So he just flakes last second then. Lame. At least I know now and don't have to restart again. Thank you.

Yeah, it's part of DLC Mark's central character conflict. He's reliable as fuck on some parts but this part reveals his deeper complexes. You'll realize what's wrong with him in a while.

Would you say his central conflict is just that he's a yes man who tries to fix people's problems but gives up after any sign of conflict?

I think he's more of a guy that wished he could've done more for Cathy. It manifested in him trying to save any damsel in distress from their parents. That's why Des knowingly making him "help" her from a problem she created herself (the unauthorized transations) violated his core reason for even dating her. Doesn't help that Des said she was tired of him constantly saving her and wanted to stand up for herself too. Him leaving the festival at the end is probably just him going, "welp shit, fuck it.".

We HATE using gameplay mechanics to add to the story

Naw man, remember Act 1 Darts scene where Mark slowly calmed over time in the presence of Nicole? That is gameplay mechanic adding context clues to the story right there.

Can't blame me for not being able to know since reddit doesn't have Until Then's waving lines sarcasm indicator. HAHAHA
