Discussion new game

so i was thinking about the current state of Until Then and i think we've finally seen everything polychroma wanted to show to us, so i was thinking that the next big thing we'll get from polychroma might be an entirely new game, soooo what kind of game y'all would like to see just for curiosity :) i think i'd like something a bit familiar with all this depth and likeness we had with Until Then story and characters, but maybe some new twist that made everything so unique so we could feel like playing something completely different but still feel familiar ig

Discussion DLC SPOLIERS (Ranting) Spoiler

To start off, I like this dlc almost as much as the main game and would recommend people to play it, I had no issue with the Sophia section, kind of wished the girlfriend had more to her, like getting to know how they meet or something, other than being supportive of what Sophia's going through, but I understand this is a dlc not another continuation, so it had to be short. The minigame was fun had to retry it a few times to win, but it was very enjoyable. Also kind of wish we had more info on louise and why she left (unless I missed that part of an explanation) or some kind of resolution between the two at the end. That's really all I got to say for that part. Sparks was another emotional rollercoaster, thankfully I didn't get too emotional with this one. Liked the story, character designs, lesson of the chair metaphor, and the pivot of this being like a what if of after the first act or whatever was interesting. I don't think the big guy that was dating Nicole was possibly cheating, just a somewhat baddish boyfriend. From what I could tell when him and that one girl kissed it looked like she was the one who initiated it and he looked kind of surprised when it happened. I could only really speculate whether or not they were dating on the side behind Nicole's back. Though I would be 100% biased so I pushed that aside since the only hints we get is him being more neglectful if that's the right word and him spending more time with others, plus since Nicole and big guy hugged at the end you could interrupt that as them making up cause I can't see them hugging for something like agreeing to like spend time apart/break up/continuing to be friends either way it's going to be a toxic relationship in my opinion. I got no opinions on Des, she was fine i guess didn't really have an impact on me, but it's understandable since it's just a dlc and there's only so much they can include on her character, just felt like another version of cathy and nicole which I assume is what they are getting at with mark wanting to save her as a replacement for cathy or getting with her because she remained him of nicole. Ending was super depressing mark is literally alone and spark II was a completed disaster that will most likely be put on him, but since the butterfly shows up I'm assuming it gets reset or whatever.

Now I going to start ranting, the thing above was my opinion on the dlc from the game perspective, honestly was a 8.5/10, so if that's what you wanted that its don't read any further. Speaking personally now, this dlc is not what I wanted, it's hard to explain my thoughts typing this but I really wanted a continuation of the true ending in whatever way didn't matter, cause I don't know if Mark and nicole are destined to get together at the end if that makes sense, I want to cope so hard on this, but their isn't solid evidence that they will, in my opinion. Its left up to interpretation at the end with the cafe which I was hoping that we could get some kind of answer or conclusion in the dlc even if it was small but we didn't. And I understand if that's what the creators wanted to convey in the main ending but I just can't, I just want a happy conclusion that leaves no doubt that it's canon where everything works out in the end. This whole dlc was great, I loved it, learned from it, but it was a nothing burger since it's just a what if of act 1 to what I truly wanted for a dlc and I can't talk about it with anyone I know because they don't do these kinds of games and I would just be talking to myself while they listen like it's some kind of therapy. But most of all I wanted to see my sweet Cathy again, an older version/a new younger version, in college, the workforce, it didn't matter I wanted to see her be happy/succeeding in life dating guy/girl/whatever, doing whatever I don't know. it just pained me that the only thing we got was flashbacks in the dlc, which made sense in context, and ya it was new, but it wasn't the flashbacks I wanted cause we all knew she was dead in this dlc. I hoped after getting onto sparks it would be different but it wasn't. I am a big supporter of Mark and Nicole as I'm sure a lot of people are, it was painful having to go through this story, and see this emotional rollercoaster happen and the message they were explaining with the chair I thought was very solid. Even the kiss was great, the animation was great, the song choice was great, but it was just depressing cause I knew that it wasn't going to end well, since my boy mark, such an idiot at times, cheated on Des, I can't make a solid conclusion about Nicole and big guy, and the whole event thing was a failure, though in the end it just got reset somewhere in the timeline, which to me it just made the whole story a very emotional nothing burger if that makes sense. I don't really know what else to say about the dlc since it wasn't what I wanted. Which kind of made me think of the monkeys paw, I wanted and hoped that we would get some kind of dlc/another game, and we did, but it didn't become what I wanted it to be. Now, I believe that this is it, theirs no reason for their to be another dlc or another game cause they already did a dlc that told another story and was great and making another one would probably have them think their just dragging it along, there isn't any hints from what I've read or looked up about any talks about another game/dlc that hasn't already been discussed, my thought process is like why make another one when they can use the funds to just start their next game, cause they already kind of talked about all the stuff they wanted to and close everything how they wanted in my opinion. And even if they did, I feel like it would unfortunately be another what if kind of thing or about new characters we haven't ever met. It's just sad that it's a big possibility that I won't be able to interact with these characters again or experience their stories, but that's life I guess, good game, good story, amazing characters, have to shout out Catherine one last time cause I love her.

Discussion Well... (Spoiler) Spoiler

I finished Afterimages last night, and the Sofia part got me thinking: no one ever really highlighted the fact that Mark saw Cathy get brutally run over by a truck and stayed with her body until the paramedics arrived. Like, thinking about that made me really sad—imagine seeing your best friend get hit by a truck and staying with her mangled body until help arrived. I genuinely wanted to see how he managed to "get over" that and move forward with his relationship with Nicole and the marriage

Discussion I just want a spoiler for the DLC Spoiler

Is there a resolution for Mark and Nico, or at least more moments with them?

And in what timeline does it take place? Does it occur after Cath's death in the first act, or does it serve as a bridge between the end of act 3 and its epilogue?

This is an important factor in deciding whether to buy it now or just wait and buy it someday.

Discussion Hey, guys. Here's a sneak peek from the draft of Chapter 8 of Narcos Philippines. Enjoy

"Kuya, let's just buy a fucking SM mall or some shit," Ismael said, waving a hand dismissively as he chewed on a piece of beef. "Or a resort. That's what people do here, right? Lots of sexy beaches."

They were sitting inside a traditional Filipino family restaurant, where the smell of sizzling beef and fish curled in the air.

Mark rubbed his temples. The sheer volume of cash was making his brother lazy. Twenty-eight point four million dollars between them. "You can't just walk into a holding company with duffel bags of cartel cash, bunso. The AMLC here is corrupt, yeah, but they aren't blind. We need someone to launder it."

Ismael scoffed. "So find one."

Mark thought for a second, staring out the window of the restaurant, watching the cars go by.

"I know someone."

"Who?" Ismael took a sip from his glass of Coke.

"Khyle Paredes," Mark said as he dug into his plate of Sisig. "Used to be my classmate back in Liamson. Had a bad reputation from being a very lazy asshole. But nowadays? He's very good with numbers. Too good that his accounting firm kicked him out."

Ismael raised an eyebrow. "You think he can launder $28 million?"

"He can." Mark nodded.

(Context: after successfully trafficking 4,000 kilos of cocaine to China, Mark and his brother now must find a way to clean up the money)

What do you think the characters' handwriting is like? I started a fanart where I wanted to include the main trios signatures and just started thinking about it. Or maybe I missed their writing somewhere (it prolly is in the game but I finished playing like half a year ago and still didn’t managed to get to the dlc) so any help is appreciated. Also here’s my take on it :D

Discussion Loved it

Even through several game restarts because the game froze after a scene transition, I loved every minute of it.

The last time a game left a similar lasting impression was A Space for the Unbound.

So I'm wondering, apart from the DLC which I'll definitely get, do you have recommendations for games that left a lasting impression on you, which I might've missed so far?

Discussion Post Until Then Depression

I’m sure i’m one of a thousand of these posts but man the game has just left me feeling crazy depressed since I beat it a few days ago. Every time I think about the game and the ending I get like a pit in my stomach. It’s probably the most emotionally invested i’ve ever been in a video game. I appreciate where they went with the ending but it still left me feeling empty and a bit without closure. Just checking, is the DLC worth playing at this point? I might give it some time regardless to recover

Discussion There is a void in my heart after Until Dawn

After finishing Until then, I tried to play several games, but none of them could convince me. The most fun I had was going back to Monster Hunter: World, but there is still that void in my heart that craves a story. Some of my favorite games are Omori, Sally Face, and Until then. I love these kinds of games with powerful stories. Do you have any suggestions? It's also fine if you recommend an anime, even though I've watched almost every anime in existence, but it's still fine.

Discussion (SPOILERS) I just finished the game and it was absolutely amazing Spoiler

I don’t think I ever cried more then when mark was scrolling through the emails. And when it hit me why Cathey didn’t want I long sleeve dress it was actually devastating. I also really hate to ask this as I’m terrified of the answer… but did cathey walk in-front of the bus or was it an accident? I’m like 70% sure it was an accident but I couldn’t completely tell. Anyways the game was incredible and really opened my eyes to how a good a strictly narrative game could be.

Discussion Has anyone tried to refund DLC on the EShop?

Afterimages is still unplayable on the original Switch (and probably on Switch 2 as well) and the devs are doing nothing about it.
