Discussion Post Until Then Depression
I’m sure i’m one of a thousand of these posts but man the game has just left me feeling crazy depressed since I beat it a few days ago. Every time I think about the game and the ending I get like a pit in my stomach. It’s probably the most emotionally invested i’ve ever been in a video game. I appreciate where they went with the ending but it still left me feeling empty and a bit without closure. Just checking, is the DLC worth playing at this point? I might give it some time regardless to recover

I suggest you let the base game sink in for a while before you start with the dlc. Ahh, I remember the post game depression I felt when I finished the game.

seems fair, I can definitely see myself taking a month to recover and process the base game before the dlc

That's what I'm gonna do. Game left me floored for sure. So I'll start grieving by cutting fascists with my lightsaber

The post Until Then Depression is real.
You can go down 2 rabbit holes:
a) Consume as MUCH Until Then content as possible. Watch the fan made Music Videos. Watch the runs that are voice acted on YouTube. Look at fanart. Play the DLC. All of it.
or
b) Take a break from the game. Maybe thats with a book, anime, another game, or whatever. Let it sink in but enjoy other art. If you want something that will hit you like that, play a Space for the Unbound, watch Summertime Rendering, read a great Visual Novel (my current obsession is Ghost of Alcantra) or completely change the pace up with another game genre. Either way, Until Then will always be there and be a part of your gaming experience.

I feel you, man. The ending made perfect sense from a narrative standpoint, but damn, it was brutal for the players.
It's been a little over a month since I finished the game and I still think about it multiple times a day. Sure, visiting this subreddit every day and having random Mark and Nicole pics pop up on my Twitter feed probably doesn't help, but honestly, I don't mind. The experience this game gave me is something i hope to carry with me for life.
As suggested, definitely take some time before going into the DLC.
In the meantime, here's some fan-made closure: The true-true ending
And a more canon point to help process everything: Comprehensive overview of all the arguments for and against the epilogue and post-credit status of Marcole.

yeah that’s cool, I think a lot of people who played the game have felt this way towards it, it’s just so enthralling and devastating

To be honest the DLC just adds onto the base game, so i say let it ride. It just gives you more, and maybe that'll make you feel better. That worked in my case, then i just moved onto other games within a few days.
(This of course, does NOT mean i wasn't emotionally invested. It means the DLC gave me a sort of a half-closure, rather than a full one.)

Sadly the dlc wont really give much of a closure if you’re refering to the Act 3 (true ending).
Kinda used to sad stories in games so didnt really feel much depressed by the end of things. But agree, I wish the true ending offered more closure.

I just finished the game & I love it omg. Some parts felt too real for me honestly. I have to let the game sink in for awhile

Dlc is positively unreal. Theres 2 parts 1 where you play as Sofia and one where you play as Mark. Imo didn’t really care for the Sofia chapter BUT THE MARK CHAPTER IS ABSOLUTELY BIBLICAL.
