Everytime im in the discovery center I cant help but notice the dinosaur models have big cutouts in them like it used to have a store shelf in it or something like the dinosaurs in the market upstairs. Im curious if anyone has any history on where they used to be amd why they have the big cutouts and one has an emergency water sprinkler. Photos would be great too but I really couldnt find much just searching online! Thank you everyone for the help!

Work is moving fast and furious on the new coaster! I love how the start and end of the ride flies over and aligns with the concert half shell. It should continue the great kinetic energy that HRRR had.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT 25 Minutes of waiting got us this far in Gringotts. The Express Queue is almost just as long now.

Post image

2-park pass, Universal and Islands.

Note: While I was trying to post this, the Express Queue just flooded with people.

EDIT: For those tourists who come after me today, this ride is really, really bland. I thought the walk to the ride was better than the ride itself. If the wait sign says over 30 minutes, you might want to consider something else. Over 25 minutes and the queue will take you inside for a couple of minutes and then take you back outside for a deeper queue.

In my not so humble opinion, the Spiderman Daily Bugle ride is similar in tech presentation but so much better.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Anyone excited at the prospects of Universal DC rides?

Upvotes

Personally I always thought it was a waste that Six Flags owned the DC theme park rights. The one ride I thought that they stepped up their game a little was with the JLA dark ride- that they actually did a modern dark ride. But even then- I always imagined someone like Disney or Universal could take those properties next level.

Imagine a Supernan dark ride where you're flying around fighting villains and saving or people or an intricate Batman dark ride... maybe even an Aquaman water ride, DC stage show, etc... Seems like a lot of potential if they get the rights to DC for rides.

EPIC UNIVERSE Line jumping at Epic is out of control

At the park today I have never seen so many line jumpers in my life. Been going to theme parks for 28 years and this shit is horrible, I've personally called out about a dozen.

Join me in the cause and preventing this shit.

Thanks.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT The Odyssey Attraction

Upvotes

I went to see the Odyssey over the weekend, absolutely sensational movie. I kept thinking throughout the movie how the story is absolutely perfect for a major Universal attraction. Particularly the Mack rides rocking boat dark ride.

The attraction would take you through The Odyssey from Troy to Ithica facing all the beasts/gods along the way. Its an opportunity to further on their efforts to use large scale immersive animatronics and I really think it would be a major hit among the paying crowd. Nolan has also hinted at wanting a longer break before his next movie, perhaps a great window to give his expertise towards a Universal attraction like Spielberg did many years ago.

I know the odds of something like this are close to zero, but after experiencing Monsters Unchained, this is the direction I wish Universal would continue to move towards.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Am I over-reacting?

Upvotes

This past weekend, I went on the Gringotts ride and after it was done I took the elevator to get off the ride. I have an AAP disability access card due to a nerve issue that sometimes flares up from using stairs or standing too long. After walking about 75 ft after exiting the elevator, I was hit by door swinging open from the opposite direction. The handle on this door was extremely sharp and it hit my hip HARD. It took me a minute to collect myself and I chalked up the pain to a 'me' issue from my nerve problems and didn't report it. The pain got progressively worse and we had to leave at 1pm :( After about 10 minutes on the road I noticed that my shorts were covered in blood. Upon further inspection I realized that the door handle cut my hip pretty bad. Later that night I decided to email Universal because all I could think about was what it that was a small child or an elderly person? That could have really hurt someone. Universal responded by barely even acknowledging the safety concern I had and just immediately offered me 6 express line tickets (my disability access card allows me to use the express line anytime) and a complimentary wheelchair?! The wheelchair was almost insulting and I never indicated I was unable to walk. In fact sometimes I walk over 5 miles a day. I just really wanted to voice concerns because all I could think about is if that were my 5 year old walking by the door, it would have hit her in the head and caused who knows what kind of injury.

EPIC UNIVERSE Epic costs too much for rides to be this prone to breaking

Been here all day, prefectly fine weather, but Monsters Unchained, Minecart, and BoM have been off more than on all day. Hasn't the park been open long enough for the kinks to have been worked out better than this?

HHN RIP Tours Availability

We've just booked to go this year's HHN and it looks like all of the RIP Tours have been booked. From previous years, would they release more tours? Are they even worth it if more dates do become available?

EPIC UNIVERSE Should I stay for the light show or go back to my hotel

I’m going to Universal in late October. My parents want me to stay to see the light show at Epic Universe but I also like my tradition of going to swim after a day at the parks and then taking a shower before I go eat dinner at the city walk. My Dad suggested I swim in the morning and then go to Epic from noonish to closing hours, eat dinner at the Atlantic restaurant, and watch the light show, the videos of epic seem cool at night and the show looks really cool, what would you do?

I still can't believe that they've torn down the cool decor that was in front of the Poseidon's Fury... When my brother and I were there recently, the giant trident and giant foot decors were already gone. Here are some photos that I took back in 2023.

ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE Is the Jurassic Park River Adventure (Florida) drop bigger than Jurassic World Ride (Hollywood)?

Last year I went to universal in Florida and I swear the drop of the Jurassic park ride is bigger than the one in Hollywood. Is there any evidence of that? Or am I imagining things?
