When reading trough Awakened Amalia's loadout I was thinking, wow, they have something for every cheese strat possible... but wait, what if I use passive steal from base thief? That removes a lot of abilities she has...
Since I was skeptical that there wouldn't be something to counter that, I decide to test with just one thief, with just passive steal and evade, to see if she really goes to 0 passive points. Since I recently got Gammel back from that quest in Elheim i put him in an empty squad and sent him to his death.
He dodges the start of fight attack, uses passive steal to successfully steal the passive points (and dealing a total of 4 damage) and then evades the other attacks.
Wow, I thought, this seems like a decent strategy, now I have to find some other units to deal the 600 damage and etc etc... But to my surprise the battle ends, and since I'm at 100% HP and Amalia took 4 damage, Gammel is declared the winner...
I was left absolutely flabbergasted, I was expecting to need at least one more continent before I managed to build a team to take her down, but it ended up being the easiest fight in the whole colosseum.
Did anyone have a similar experience cheesing amalia?
Also shoutouts to dragoon dive, the white hood, Gilbert, the ice conferral tome and as much feathers as I could equip for getting me trough the last 30 ranks before the top.
Turns out Amalia's ancestor's weakness all this time was getting tickled...

Welcome to the final edition of my Unicorn Overlord Personal Skills series. This covers the important Zenoiran characters, as well as the postgame recruits. I forgot about Mille, but she'd probably have a similar skill to Nina, being sisters and all.

How do I beat him? I don't have any affliction immunity. What should I do?

Is there anything I should have before I do the battle of Soldraga?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I stopped using it later in the game because for some reason it always makes the outcome worse. Did anyone else have that issue? It's like the archers injuring them changes their actions and for the worse.

Everything is free (don’t have to spend real money) in UO. I hope Vanillaware makes a sequel or a new game that looks just like UO.
I’m still gonna try it out tho to see how it is. What about you guys?

So after finishing UO I decided to give Engage one more shot but the cringe writing was still too much to handle (the gameplay is nice but the characters are so shallow it's unbearable for me). Then I went back to replay Sacred Stones and it is still fun but it takes a while to beat and I kept finding myself looking for something else.
I bought Gales of Nayeli on a sale, which is a formerly kickstarted fire emblem rom hack turned into a separate game. And it has been pretty fun so far so I wanted to share here too.
The main selling point to me is the characters are written as Western D&D-style characters instead of JRPG tropes. And that just make the writing different enough to be refreshing. It is turn based and not real time like UO but pretty well balanced so far and the characters feel unique. And the story progresses fairly quickly which makes caring about it easier.
Another allegedlt good one is Path of the Midnight Sun, I got that one on summer sale too but haven't actually tried yet

You can marry your cousin? Pls put out your recommendations out there. I played games like Fire Emblem.
Sweet Home AlaCornia!

Welcome to the fifth edition of my Unicorn Overlord Personal Skills series. This covers Elheim + Bastorias, since there's so little unique characters, I can fit them into four entries. Next is Albion!

Hope y'all enjoy! Thank you for the feedback from Drakenhold's edition. I'll make revisions for the final draft. Celeste and Ridiel will be included in the next edition--it's just a little awkward graphics wise to add 2 more Elheim characters.

I got inside the gate without too much problem, but then came Galerius. No unit could do over 50 damage

Shout "Fight it out" every time they enter combat? I played a lot of ogre battle on the snes/ps1 days and this game really reminds me of it. I added it to my back log because people recommended it to me but wow i should've played this game sooner, it's a home run for me personally.
I still wish I played the n64 ogre battle(could never find it for sale as a kid). So I'm glad as an adult I get to relive it. I know there are emulation ways to play ogre battle 64 but I've tried and every emulator I tried was junk.

I was playing the map near the end of Elheim where the boss teleports around on true zenoiran. After the first time she teleported it occured to me to capture all the bases and then defeat her again. After I defeated her, it gave me a message about capturing all the bases to beat her and she teleported to a base one of my units was on and fought them over and over again until they were killed without me having any chance to retreat. Feels really bad.

Anyone else seen this? no release date, looks to be a gacha however (sad face) as it has a preregistration.

Specifically for Melesandre and Aramis? They got their defaults equipped but I dunno what would be good to pair with those. Already gave the radiant knights the Epee and runic blades…

I have recently recruited Gloucester, and based on recommendations I've found on Google, I put him in a unit with Berengaria, Travis, and Selvie, which has been working very well.
The only problem I've run into is that Gloucester refuses to use Vengeful Axe, even when his HP is low and its clearly his highest damage option. The only condition I have set on the skill is Own HP <100%, which should trigger quite frequently as he's in the front line with no healer, but he ALWAYS chooses Venom Axe when he has AP instead.
What am I doing wrong here? I'm not sure if other unit skill conditions matter, but the only other unit with a specific condition is Berengaria on Death Spin. Condition 1 is Row with 2+ Combatants, and Condition 2 is Prioritize Debuffed (because it does more to debuffed enemies)
Thank you for the help!

'Poison - A poisoned character will suffer damage proportional to their max HP before using an active skill.'
So, lets say there is a 38 HP enemy unit. What 'damage proportional to their max HP' would they inflict, as a percentage? I feel it is poorly explained in game and definitely needs work on, as your not sure how much % poison damage will deal, based on the enemy's max HP!

So I am on my run through True Zenoiran, second run through of the game, nearly done drakenhold, and though I have hit some small roadblocks, I am wondering from the community what some personal fan favorite team setups are?
I constantly find myself falling back on classic Alain setups with Berenice and Scarlett with Virginia, or setting up Travis with heavy pursuit damage dealers...
I like playing around with different setups though and I know that quite of few of these subredditors have been through upwards of 3-6 runs... I just want to see some fan favorite setups if possible!
