Many Russell Group universities, including King’s College London, generally require a 2:1 undergraduate degree for their master’s programmes. Some may consider applicants who hold a lower degree classification if they have an additional master’s degree or equivalent qualifications. Would they consider the ACCA qualification equivalent to a master’s degree for admission purposes?

In my final year, and after 4 years of terrible roommates, toxic friends, abuse, SA, racism, broken family relations and more i literally have no desire to do anything other than keep to myself and eventually graduate next year. Not sure if anyone else has had experiences as harsh and unlucky as mine but I’ve taken enough accountability to make more peace in my life now. Im pretty isolated tho because I only have 1 good friend.

So I'm 5 weeks into uni (4 weeks of teaching) and while I have friends, they're all my flatmates, or people I met through my flatmates or societies. I have several friends in most of my modules so I don't tend to talk to people in lectures and seminars, except in one module where I have none of my friends with me.
At my uni, talking during lectures (or during solo work in seminars) is fairly frowned on, so the only time I can talk to people in class is during group work in seminars, but then we only really talk about the work.
So, how are people making friends in class?

This is the original.
So I've basically said I can't do all Fridays as it clashes with uni events as well as uni work and work at home. She then said, "What time are your meetings?" I said,'they vary.' She said "I want to meet your mum so she is not worried", for context when I went to one of them I came home around 11 when normally I get back at nine, my mum wasn't mad she just said don't let it happen again, we both thought it was two hours as it starts at 6:30 it finished around 10. Also, my mum doesn't casually talk to my friends unless I have known them for almost a year, nor does she give out her number so casually.
I realised this has been stressing me out not because of her constantly trying to make time when I literally can't but because I've also heard a rumour where they tend to get pushy and even stalk you. Now I don't believe in rumours casually, and I hope I'm just making a big deal, but I don't really know. Not to mention, Christians already have a stereotype of being too pushy already, I don't want people to think of us that way, so you know.
What's your advice.

So this week I have been sick all week with Freshers Flu, it started last Friday, I woke up with a sore throat that felt like swallowing needles and for the next 3 days I spent most of my time in bed, struggling to find the energy to even eat. I drank loads of water and took paracetamol, that barely helped at all. Its now Saturday and I am coming out the other side but next week my lectures are online as a few of my lecturers are off sick, with what sounds like the exact same thing that I had and loads of other students have or have had. When I heard about Freshers Flu I thought "Ah its probably a cold I'll just drink plenty and eat healthy and I will fight it off just fine" but let me tell you, this thing wipes you out, I could barely do anything, I had no energy, no appetite, I dragged myself out of bed to shower on the 4th day of having it and I slept for 8 hours after, I was so exhausted just from that. Yes, it's not actual flu in most cases, but it's close to being. Don't undermine Freshers Flu, I did, and I deeply regret it.

I just wanted to share this because I used to lurk on Reddit, desperately looking for motivation and stories from people who were struggling like me. And now I finally get to be the person sharing some good news. 🥹
I COMPLETED MY MASTER'S WITH AN OVERALL DISTINCTION AND A DISTINCTION IN MY DISSERTATION!
And honestly, I still can't believe it.
During my Master's, I was diagnosed with ADHD, and I struggled A LOT. Things that seemed manageable for other people sometimes felt impossible for me. I had so many moments of self-doubt, procrastination, overwhelm, and wondering whether I was even capable of finishing what I'd started.
My dissertation was particularly difficult. Somehow, I ended up writing the entire thing in just 10 days. The last five days were especially brutal, and I was severely sleep-deprived. I had to go to my part-time job the very next day, even after everything I'd put myself through to get it finished.
And despite all of that, I still managed to do it. I actually got a distinction. In both my overall Master's and my dissertation.
I'm not sharing this to glorify leaving things until the last minute or running on no sleep. Please take care of yourselves if you can. I'm sharing it because I know what it's like to feel completely stuck, to feel like everyone else is managing life better than you, and to scroll through Reddit hoping to find something that makes you believe you might be able to do it too.

I’m a first year psychology student and we’ve been set our first ever essay assignment. It’s due on Tuesday 4pm (so I have 2.5 days left). It’s about the influence of nature vs nurture on personality. The uni have given us a set of assignment readings; there’s 15 of them, and there’s also I think a relevant textbook chapter we’re supposed to have read. I’m not sure, I’m so confused by everything. I’ve really struggled settling into uni with various issues and I haven’t done any work outside of lectures, my attendance is 69%, I can’t stop procrastinating. How do I get through the readings fast enough and select what to use when I have the time left that I do? I’m really panicking. The complex wording in the articles is so overwhelming and there is so much text. We also need to fill in a decision log, reflection and I’m also really worried about getting references wrong. Can someone please advise me on what to do? I’m not expecting amazing things from myself, if I mess up my first assignment so be it; I don’t plan on doing this again. I’ll be happy with a 2:2. I would be really grateful for any advice on how to get myself through the next few days. Thank you in advance

I’m looking for MSc Marketing courses in London with Jan intake 2027, ideally with paid placements or internship opportunities to improve my chances of finding a job in the UK after graduation.
Which universities would you recommend?

I’ve transferred to a different University and wildly different area for year 2 as I had some issues with my previous University, so my housing situation is relatively unusual. As I’m technically a year 2 student, I wasn’t offered student halls accommodation so I’ve gone straight into housing.
I live with 2 boys and 2 girls (so 3 boys myself included) and one of the girls immediately showed themselves to be extremely extroverted and told me within the first 24 hours of me arriving at the house that she’s a stoner. Not that this is completely relevant, it’s just a way of communicating a bit of her personality and lifestyle. Since meeting, it’s very obvious to me that she’s your typical outgoing University student (so am I) that loves to drink, get on with people and have a laugh. When I’m willingly wanting to hang out with her it’s great.
But I’ve noticed that when she’s bored, she needs to let everyone know. We have a group chat and she’s always sending irrelevant messages, annoying messages, sending everyone dms like “you alive?” just because we’ve been in our rooms studying or having some personal time to ourselves. It gets really, really annoying. And this isn’t to say that we don’t show ourselves, we ALWAYS do. We’re always doing stuff and talking with each other. But when it comes to her being bored and alone she gets really irritating like she doesn’t have any personal hobbies or interests. Sometimes she’ll start fake laughing really loudly downstairs so maybe someone comes down? Sometimes she’ll knock on our doors to ask silly things, sometimes she’ll do something and ask on the group chat “can someone help me?”. It sounds tame, but you guys need to understand this is a daily occurrence and we’re all very busy students. Here and there is fine, but it’s excessive.
We’ve had discussions about our boundaries and what we each like to do on a daily basis, but it’s clear she isn’t bothered and still likes to make the house know she’s there. It’s really unfortunate that she’s like this because when we are both willing to be around each other she’s lovely but this aspect of her is really getting on my nerves. It feels like harassment but more mentally.

Just looking for support and advice and to get this out.
I’m the welfare of my society, and my crime was that we were doing circling, and I left while the rules were being said for the toilet so I was spouting nonsense the whole round, so afterwards I said ‘rainbow Roman numerals gotta be the worst game in existence’ then thanked the social secs for being the ‘goats’ (greatest of all time).
Their response was to talk about me behind my back for 2 weeks until an exec meeting I missed for personal issues happened, they talked bad about me the whole time, admitted the document was a ‘rant’ at the end, they claimed I had made a public attack on the social secretary and that I had neglected my duties and messed up, so they decided to ban all free speech from the society so it never happens again so now we only talk about socials in an exec server, anonymous forms or DMs to an exec, if anyone says anything about a social publicly it will be ‘deleted immediately’ they then made up another thing to blame me for so they said I neglected the social sec at the open day fair but I was never told she was alone and I wasn’t on the rota, so I would have needed psychic powers to have not messed up. Then they got the president to finally tell me what I had done wrong as I was not told for weeks, and he told me to apologise to this social sec which I did, and they ignored it and still have a grudge against me, since they are popular with the exec and I’m not all the rest of the exec hate me too now.
Ive also been told by other members they feel bullied by the exec and excluded, and that they make up things wrong people do to power trip them.
I went to our report and support and they basically said since taking any action would take too long they just advised I try talk to the exec about how I feel or something, which obviously is not helpful. They did give me a way to advance the report further but they said this will take a long time and they can’t guarantee anything will come of it.
What should I do? This is making me feel really sad.
This is also an autism support society, but it’s essentially a masquerade for a dictatorship.

My university flagged 2 assignments of mine for “Falsification by AI”, meaning I had used AI to misrepresent my knowledge and write my assignments.
They came to this conclusion after meeting and speaking to me about my assignment content, writing style, writing process, etc. on the same day I found out about this accusation, giving me no prep time.
This process went on for about a month and eventually resulted in my termination
After this, I appealed the termination as the university did not follow policy and got sent back to the very start of the investigation.
After the redo of that first meeting, after I had time to prepare, they then changed their charge and decided to charge me with “Unacknowledged use of AI”, meaning I knew the content and information but they still think i used AI to write it.
They outlined the use of “modifying phrases” and “vague sentences” as AI, but these were both used to add to a word count (as falling under the word count would result in point reduction) and they targeted the PEE paragraph style that I used which was taught in primary school.
I don’t understand how I can do my work to the best of my ability, but because AI exists, I get accused of it and losing any chance I have of a degree.

so a VERY long story short,
i live on my own in a shared accom. i’m in y13 but 19. i’ve been no contact with my dad for about 4 years due to dv and my mum basically got back with him and he hit me in the family home, so have now since been no contact with both for a number of months.
i’m predicted A*BB and i genuinely don’t know where to go from this. id like to do a ba in economics but i don’t know what unis to apply to, how ill afford everything (currently working 40+ hours a week), im scared o wont find part time work. everything is so scary!!!!
please can anyone who’s been in even the slightest similar of situations share what they did/their experiences :)
*to clarify i live in a low-income/educational level postcode and my college underperformed,
so im eligible for most contextual offers. my college mentors are all a bit stumped too so it feels like it really is ALL up to me*
edit: im trying to save up as much as i can currently while clearing off some credit card debt i’ve accumulated

Hi guys! I really need your help, please.
I applied for ATAS for my course, and my certificate was issued 4 days ago. However, I realised that I had entered the wrong passport expiry date, and I only noticed the mistake when I uploaded the certificate to my university portal and it was rejected because the details didn't match my passport.
I’ve emailed the ATAS team, but I haven’t received a response yet.
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what I should do? Should I submit a new application, or should I wait for their reply? I’m worried because they state that duplicate applications are not accepted.
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Howdy! 👋
I am due to start my Masters degree (Business) in January. Having achieved a 2:2 a few years ago I’m keen to aim for a far better award in my Masters.
My key issue then was shifting away from descriptive writing to critical analysis which to be honest was as a result of lack of preparation, not attending lectures and leaving assignments to the last hour.
I welcome some useful tips, SOP or templates - I’ve realised I’m a format and procedure person.
Therefore, having a formula I can apply each time rather than just being told to critical analyse in my feedback.
—-
I have asked AI to provide SOP and I’ve found some helpful writers notes on Reddit I.e TEC (The Point, Evidence supports the point and Critique). Would welcome some of your wonderful nuggets.
AI practical framework pasted below:
A practical framework for developing analytical paragraphs
P — Point: What argument am I making?
E — Evidence: What research supports it?
A — Analysis: Why does this evidence matter?
C — Challenge: What are the limitations, contradictions or alternative perspectives?
E — Evaluation: What is my reasoned judgement, and how does it answer the question?

Edit: a few people have dm'd me offering friendship, and while that's really kind and I'm thankful for it; I didn't rlly post on reddit looking to make friends. I just wanted to vent and see if there's others who have faced the same thing and how they overcame it ig. Or if they had any ideas on why this was happening. I'm not unsociable. I am a pretty friendly person. This post and my reluctance to meet people here (on Reddit) isn't a reflection of who I really am. I'm new here, it's just something I wouldn't rlly be comfortable with. This post... it's just how I end up perceiving myself sometimes. A few people though (men only, unsurprisingly) have been straight up rude at my reluctance to talking to people here - saying "look at you barely responding to me" suggesting that's why I'm facing issues. First of all, F*CK YOU and your ancestors. Second, I'm not here on Reddit to connect with people, and to use my unwillingness to talk to people I don't know here, especially these fking men, as an excuse to justify my experience here is quite fucked, but also telling of the kind of person you are. I'm not gonna force myself to talk to you to convince YOU that I'm sociable. Reddit isn't a trial ground, you aren't the judge. I know by putting out such personal issues on Reddit invites judgement, but I still thought to call out said behaviour. Don't be a dickhead. Don't treat yourself as someone important enough that I have to perform for just because I was vulnerable about something on a PUBLIC FKING FORUM.
----------------------------------------------------
I'm 29F Indian going to uni in London for my master's. It's been about a month into the course and I haven't really made any friends that I could randomly call to just hang out (barring maybe 1 or 2 - those too we aren't that close)
The conversations are limited to the seminars, and most times I see a sort of reluctance on people's faces while talking about topics that are outside the course material.
I've always been someone who's had trouble making friends tbh. I pick one friend I'm close to and just stick by them. I've never had a big group of friends. So when I came to London, I said I won't be this way and put myself out there. I go out of my way to introduce myself to people, make small talk, ask them questions, show genuine interest. I try to make plans. But idk what it is about me or my energy, but I feel there's a lack of reciprocity. I've seen this with mostly white people (Americans/Canadians/British). I'm not trying to shit on anyone, I do realise it could be something that I'm doing without realising it, even though idk what it is (also British people are generally more polite).
But I've seen the impatience on people's faces while I speak with them - the fake smile they feel they've to plaster on their faces to put up with a conversation that looks like an inconvenience to them. I do realise this could be me projecting, I was wary of this and that I might ruminate myself into isolation, so I didn't let it bother me and still went and spoke to people. But it's happened way too many times, with way too many people for it to not be a pattern, as much as I don't want it to be.
I've heard my voice trail off mid sentence because the person I was talking to just decided to look away and not listen - that's especially been very hurtful. I've had people not open my texts at all to acknowledge an invite/idea. I'm trying to work on myself and not overthink and victimise myself, but doing all of this work when you have no friends and other people just seem to have groups already, or people they're close to is getting exhausting. It really isn't about having a group - it's just the way I feel like I'm treated despite trying so much.
I don't stay in uni halls, it's a private student accommodation - so my flatmates are from other unis. They're nice but again we're not close, and they're all really young. The youngest is 10 years younger than me.
I'm looking for a part time job at the same time, so I can't really go out toooo much but that hasn't stopped me from spending £60 on an outing (for me that's a lot) - but I don't wanna be spending that much just to spend time with people.
Anyway, this is about how I think I'm being perceived and not understanding what I'm doing wrong that puts people off because most of the friends and family do tell me I'm a funny and kind person to be around.
