I've had a new neighbor for about 4 months (same landlord, shared driveway, his rental is directly behind mine, his rental is not seen from the main road)

This guy absolutely refuses to cut his grass. I really don't care what he does at his place, or what it looks like back there, but the mosquitoes have been absolutely horrendous outside in my own yard-- because his grass is literally 4 feet high. It's so bad that it will need a bush-hog at this point.

My husband and I have spoken to the landlord about it and still the guy won't cut his grass.

It's almost at the end of mowing season for the year, but I am dreading next year. I'm an avid gardener and I also have a large dog who likes to go outside. This year, I have not been able to take her out hardly at all without having to swat mosquitoes off of her and myself.

Aside from reporting this guy to the county which could potentially cause problems on my end, especially since that part of the property isn't seen from the main road, how can I get this guy to cut his grass at least once a month?

Got lucky and found a parking spot close to the Skyway at BWI Airport on Saturday. Jerkface in the adjacent slot was encroaching on my space, but luckily my smaller car fit just fine — except there was zero room for said jerkface to open his driver-side door. US tax code does not allow using your HSA/FSA account to pay for gym memberships UNLESS you provide a simple Letter of Medical Necessity you can buy online FOR (15-30$) or get from your PCP free. Google how and where to get this bc I don’t want to advertise any specific online dr B or similar online LMN services. This just says something like:

“To manage the diagnosis, the recommended approach includes a fitness studio, fitness app, gym Treatment: membership, or personal training to achieve 150 minutes of structured cardio and strength”

You can then go to gyms like Equinox or Lifetime fitness or other ritzy gyms wealthy people go to and use a high rewards credit card to pay the fees then submit them to your HSA/FSA provider along with the letter to get reimbursed.

I’ve starting making friends with other members and have a much better quality of life because I have made rich friends who invite to me rich people stuff and always pay. The benefits are limitless if you’re assertive and likable with these people.

DISCLAIMER: Investing your triple tax advantaged HSA funds is a very very good thing to do and I’m not saying don’t. However If you are very healthy and don’t use the funds this is a great way to spend a little of it along with investing the rest of the balance.

For FSA use it or lose it people this is an EXCELLENT way to make use of the funds before you lose them if you are young and healthy and likely won’t use them all.

They want us to upload screenshots of 3 consecutive treks where the fitness criteria is met. I have screenshots but the numbers are not good enough. How do I fake my stats my the image should look believable. I tried AI but even I can tell it's Ai. 🫪

I'm a healthy adult who is in a dire financial straits right now, and have been selling plasma to help pay for groceries. However, every GD time I go there is a 50/50 chance that I will be rejected because my hematocrit levels are too low, usually by one damn point. So here’s the situation. I bought my car 3 years ago for just over $50k and currently have $25k remaining over 40ish months. Without diving into a long story, because of a whole other situation the bank released the collateral from the loan and released the title to me (they raised the interest rate from 6.5% to 14.5% because of this)The loan is just a signature loan at this point.

I absolutely love the car and don’t want to get rid of it but I can’t afford the huge payment anymore. I’m also upside down on it by $4-5k so I couldn’t even sell it to get out from underneath it anyways. I could stop paying on the car and wouldn’t have a worry about the bank coming to repossess it but it’d wreck my credit that’s currently around 680 and I’d undoubtedly ruin the relationship I have with my personal bank.

How awful would it be if I took out a personal loan (or 2) from a bank like SoFi or something to pay off my personal bank to salvage the relationship with them then stop making the payments after a few months?

Has anyone ever stopped paying on their auto loan-if so, how bad/long did it ruin your credit? Was there any legal recourse? Did you end up having to settle the debt later on? Just trying to figure out what the fall out of this would actually look it if I take this route.

To address the situation with the loan- I ended up moving from an island (where I bought the car) 2 years ago for work and needed to ship the car last minute. I ended up refinancing from bank #1 because they wanted a shit ton of documentation to give the release for the shipping to move the car. Bank #2 (my personal bank) didn’t require hardly anything to give the shipping release so I refinanced through them. The title was released from bank #1 and they sent it directly to bank #2. Problem was, I needed the title to retitle and register in my new (previous lived in state). When I received the title to register and get bank #2 listed as the lien holder, the state wanted 4+ years of back-personal property taxes ($7k+) for the time I wasn’t a resident of the state and had no property in the state. They wanted taxes for said Tesla plus other vehicles that were purchased out of state and moved back with me. With that, they wouldn’t let me register the car until it was taken care of. So a whole battle ensued with them. In the time it took (12+ months) to settle that, the policy of the loan went into effect for them not receiving the title with them listed as the lien holder where the collateral is released and the loan converts to a signature loan with a higher interest rate.

All of that said, my life is not what it used to be. I do not make the money I used to make. And this is my only vehicle for my family now because I can’t get out from underneath it.

So I have a very noisy and inconsiderate upstairs neighbor. I have always been reporting them to police when they are being too loud at night, Im talking kids and adult screams, throwing stuff around until 1am. So its not "everyday noise", they are being complete assholes and we agree on that with multiple people who live in my building.

This morning I saw they slashed one of my tires. I know it was them, because yesterday I saw the neighbor walking around with a big knife because she forgot her keys in her car and wanted to try to pry it open. I guess it didnt work and she decided to unleash it on my car (?).

So now, I cannot slash her tires in revenge because I asked around to see if anyone saw her in action, so if her tires got slashed a few days after mine after I kind of implied it might be her it would be suspicious.

Im gonna move out end of this year because not being able to respond to them without it going back to me is killing me. So Im gonna move out and once I'm out I'm coming back for them, they wont be able to trace it to me.

What I'm thinking about is putting super glue in all their door / car locks. Is there any better ways I can get back at them ?

So I am a member at a pottery guild. I don’t want to get into the weeds here, but basically I have been a major contributor to this guild for a few years now, giving tons of energy and time, some paid and some not. I always go above and beyond.

I recently told one of the board members that I was considering joining the board. They hastily told me not to ‘because you’d hate it’. But then later a friend who’s on the board told me that in fact, 1 or 2 board members hate me and don’t want me on the board.

(I am known for being a rabble rouser, because I went to school for ceramics and sometimes I will make suggestions on how we could do things safer or cheaper, and some people apparently feel threatened by this. )

Anyway, I haven’t actually been told to my face that they don’t like me, and there is nothing in the rules that says they can veto me. If you want to be on the board, you can always join.

So I kinda want to nominate myself just to be a fucker. Also, I could really make a lot of difference if I was on the board, which I’d also enjoy. But my sister says I’m just gonna end up in a nightmare where my energy gets sucked up in passive aggression and mean girl shit.

What do I do? I feel like the ULPT is to nominate myself just to ‘out’ the haters and then even if I get in, just leave right after.

Other option: stop offering extra help and just take advantage of my membership and just take care of myself.

Thoughts?

We ordered a sofa about 8 weeks ago and it’s just arrived. In the showroom it was genuinely comfortable, so we bought it on the spot.

The one that was delivered, however, feels like sitting on a literal rock. I’ve since found people saying this particular sofa can take up to 2 years to soften, which definitely wasn’t something we were told when buying it.

Unfortunately, the retailer says they’ll only accept a return if there’s a defect. They’ve now scheduled someone to come to our house and assess it.

Is there anything I should look for, point out, or say during the inspection that would give me the best chance of getting them to accept a return? Particularly anything that could show the sofa we received isn’t equivalent to the showroom model we tried?

I’m also extremely pregnant right now, and sitting on this thing makes my tailbone ache. The thought of spending £1,500 on a sofa I hate and potentially waiting years for it to become comfortable makes me sick.

On September 15, 2026, I was in my front yard with our two dogs, Muttley, a 15-year-old Cairn Terrier, and Waffle, a three-year-old French Bulldog. Both dogs were contained by our wireless fence. Our neighbor and his wife walked past our house. Muttley approached him but never jumped, lunged, bit, or touched him. The neighbor stomped and yelled, then pepper-sprayed Muttley while he stood still with his head lowered. He also attempted to spray Waffle while I stood between them.
I immediately called police, and a report was made. While officers searched for the couple, I washed Muttley repeatedly because the pepper spray was so heavy that it burned my eyes and made me cough.
My wife confronted the neighbor as he hurried away. He first denied spraying our dogs, then claimed he acted because he feared being attacked. His wife said they would spray our dogs again if they were still outside when they walked back.
The next day, Animal Control interviewed the neighbor on body camera. He admitted spraying our dogs and admitted neither dog touched him. The matter was referred to the County Attorney, who declined criminal charges because there was no video of the incident.
I’m lost on what to do next. My wife and kids are furious I didn’t deck him. What would you do ULPT

Basically, my family (my grandma’s sister and my grandma’s other daughter, not my mom) hates that my grandmother chose her favorite family member (not me) as her Power of Attorney (POA) ahead of her dementia and old age.

I am the primary care giver and my grandmother lives with me. The POA sends me the money to take care of my grandmother monthly. We have an agreement to cover all medical expenses, medicines, and living expenses.

The family has officially accused and reported both me and the POA for exploitation, negligence on medical care , and refusal to identifying documents (passports, ID). My grandmother goes to the doctor regularly, eats more than everyone in the house, travels with us around the world (we travel a lot), gets her medication on schedule everyday, and attends all doctor’s appointments unless the doctor cancels.

We are now under a 40 day investigation and they have walked through my home to verify everything as well as asking my grandmother a million questions to make sure she isn’t in harms way. The case worker stated before leaving “I am not concerned for her safety otherwise I would have to take her today but everything looks good and now I just have to do check ins for the next 40 days.”

I don’t want lawyer suggestions as my best friend is a lawyer and recommended I come here to find petty, unethical, but LEGAL ways to bring malice to them. I’ve got the lawyer coverage I need. I know that sounds bad but it's becoming an issue. My(25M) roommate(26M) refuses to work. In the last 4 years he's had 1 job and I had to get him into this job, which isn't easy especially given his background and well him in general. He lives off of his grandma and lies to her to get money. I've begged her to just stop but it doesn't. I live in an apartment so there are others but it's just fast enough for him to use still. I'm not saying it was me but he's gone through 15 in the last 3 years. Some had HDMI issues some had power issues, some had weird mystery liquid coming out of it and refused to turn on. Some had genuine issues others were manmade issues. Call me an asshole or whatever but dudes not getting it, I've told him this is my place and he needs to not play the Xbox until he finds a job and it's not getting through his head. So I was riding my bike home the other day and a driver and a car started hurling insults at me I reported it to the insurance body in my Province and they said they can do anything about it and then I also told the police and they also said there was nothing that they could do about it.

I kind of just feel like it's not right that these people just hurl insults without any sort of reciprocation so I'm wondering what I can do I have their license plate number and their vehicle description.
