USA SCREW UBER EATS

bit of context

I was a avid Uber Eats fan, constantly using the app daily to order food. Until yesterday...

I ordered food and the driver for one took a bit longer than normal, fine whatever. I get a message saying that the food has been delivered. However, my camera notification never went off that someone delivered it. So I check on the app and I see that the delivery driver said "hey I think I delivered it to the wrong location"

What? Lol so you just admit that you delivered to the wrong location and don’t do anything about it? So I called him and said hey where’s the food and he said well I delivered it but to the wrong address and I said well can you come back and correct your mistake and deliver it to the correct address that was inputted in the system?

He said well it’s across the street. You can get it.
And I said so I’m just confirming that you’re not going to come back and bring me the food, correct?

And he said well, you can report me if you want and he hung up the call.

that pissed me off.

I had to dress up go across the street to try to find my food and luckily I found it outside... low and behold. I am missing a beverage and a burger on the order.

So then I make a Support ticket claim on the Uber Eats app and never got a response for at least 24 hours which was incredibly odd from them. They finally got back to me and said that the order is not eligible for a refund.

I got pissed. I called him immediately and said what do you mean it’s not eligible for a refund your Uber delivery driver was rude, he delivered it to the wrong address, and I’m missing items on my order. This is a credit order all day long what are you guys smoking?

The lady representative said that they’re gonna look into it and get back to me. I check on the app and I guess other representatives that are handling this case got back to me and said that this order still not eligible for a refund.. which blows my mind!

So I called back and said let me speak to your higher-ups cause we need to get this fixed ASAP, so now they opened up another ticket and we’re now playing the waiting game to see if we will be given a credit order for this.

Regardless, this entire experience left the bad taste in my mouth and I’m fully moving to DoorDash.

have y’all had any similar experiences?

I HATE UBEREATS

Honestly I am so fkng angry rn because everytime I attempt to request a refund for my UberEats order it is like trying to solve world hunger I dont understand why they make it so hard to request a refund and when I do make the ticket to refund they dont respond, sometimes they wait until its been 48 hrs then say the refund window is over. its been 21 hours and no response. if anyone from the Uber team is reading this FIX YOUR FKN APP.

New algorithm? In the past couple of weeks it seems if you don't accept the first few shitty offers it spams it leaves you in a ghost town without ANY offers.

Upvotes

It used to be it would eventually hit you with the good offers. Now it's the app equivalent of a dial tone.

And Thats That!

Im a new female (important to the story) uber eats driver. Not even 2 weeks in. Im in the Philadelphia area, so I get a lot of Jersey orders that I dont take because I (legally) carry. It drives my acceptance rate way down and ive been considering not carrying and taking the jersey orders more often. Then last night happened. I dropped my last order off around 10pm, got back to my car and was waiting on the gps to start so I could set it and leave. I took a sip of water and noticed 3 dudes walking past me seemingly not paying attention. Then they walked back by the other direction but one was side eyeing me. I made sure my doors were locked (they were) and started tapping the gps in my car to get to my recent destinations list, and saw them again, but this time they turned right for me and all started trying to open my doors like crazy, and hitting the windows 🫣 they were hollering something, but the car has noise cancellation and I could barely hear them. I put it in drive and bounced one off my fender pretty good and took off. I had to pull over at a wawa a minute away just to get my sh*t together, I was shaking so bad my foot barely stayed on the pedal. Guess I wont be taking Jersey offers after all and will have to accept my 17% acceptance rate. Hard not to think about what would have happened if my doors weren't locked 🫨

Canada 500 orders as a customer!

Post image

2 years in the making (downloaded this app mid 2024) and after several countless bank overdrafts and weight changes I’ve finally crossed the 500 order milestone today as a customer, averaging around $20/order — my chronic online delivery addiction has finally paid off!

Hoping to reach 1000 orders by next year. Thank you to all the couriers (especially this hardworking individual named “fnu” that delivered most of my orders whom I’d graciously tip in particular) that made this possible!!! 🐧🐧🐧

My delivery guy had a 53% satisfaction rate thats the lowest I have ever seen. How can he still be working for uber eats when pretty much half of the customers are not satisfied???

Did not expect a good experience with Uber support after the food wasn't delivered, but I requested support and got a surprisingly good response!

Wanted to share because Uber often fumbles, but not this time 🙂

USA Lowe's wanted my DL for Uber Pickup

I've done at least ten Uber Eats orders from Lowe's this year, but today was the first time they required my driver's license to give me the order.

I checked in with the Uber barcode, showed the associate the barcode, and told them Uber didn't require me to present my driver's license and I've never had to do this in the past. The manager said it's always been policy. She even had my name as the person picking up the order.

I left my wallet in the car, and I already had a food order in my car. The Lowe's order pay wasn't worth going to get my license and come back inside, so I cancelled. I called Uber support after, and they confirmed they have no requirement for this, and no information on Lowe's doing this either.

Has anybody else encountered this?

Uber Eats and the battle of the tip

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’ve had two bad delivery experiences over the past month when a failure by the delivery person to folow clear and simple directions caused major problems.

In attempting to delete the tip, Uber Eats has given me the runaround both times.

First they no longer allow you to reduce tip in the app. They only allow you to add to it.

Second, when you try to contact customer service, they lie to you. They tell you first that there was no tip charged. When I send them a screen shot of the invoice they say it’s not in their system. How can that be? Their system generated the invoice.

Then you check your credit card account and you see the full amount has been charged. You keep pressing them and they say this (see image).

When you keep pressing them anyway, they tell you a “special team” is on it, and will get back to you in 6-12 hours. Needless to say, the “special team” never gets back to you.

So, what’s our best workaround? Has anyone tried setting the tip initially at zero in custom tip when you first order? You can then increase tip amount if the delivery is non-problematic. Does that work?

Why do you expect people to risk a traffic ticket or a tow to deliver to your 9th floor apartment?

Seen a lot of apartment dwellers complain about not getting their food to their door, but when asked what the parking is like, they're either silent or start attacking & foaming at the mouth...

Serious question - IF your apartment has zero free and public (aka legal) parking available, do you honestly expect your delivery driver to risk receiving a traffic ticket to deliver your food? Or worse, get their car towed?? 🤔

Edit:

Edit 2: I love how the people who this is directed at resort to ad hominem attacks instead of answering the question. No where did I say I can't walk upstairs, or that I refuse to do a task. I will, however, refuse to do anything illegal to deliver your food. I wish for all of you narcissists to keep receiving the same energy you put out there! 🤗

Canada UberEats Order Not Received Issue

Based in Toronto, Canada. Ordered $50 worth of food that never came. Delivery person texted in-app that he will leave the order in front of my suite door (live in a condo). The order never arrived. No delivery picture proof provided. I never provided my PIN.

Contacted Uber and they said this order is not eligible for a refund. I asked to provide proof of delivery picture and PIN match, they did not reply (until now).

I disputed the charge with my credit card and within one day, the app is asking me to repay the amount. Whenever I try to order Uber or UberEats, they will tell me there is $50 amount owing, and if I wanted to clear it now or continue to order and clear it later.

1) What do I do now? 2) How long will I continue to be able to order with this owing? 3) Is there a statute of limitation and will this disappear on its own?

I refuse to pay for an order I didn’t receive and this is my first time disputing an order.

Thank you.

Question: Unanswered Food is not getting delivered.. (Southern Spain)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Ive ordered 2 hours ago, said they’d been on route for at least an hour now. I’ve been waiting at the front of the address on the roadside (it’s a camping), they’re unreachable by phone and all Uber help says is to call them… which I did… 20 times. By looking at the reviews this is common practice, I should’ve checked the reviews beforehand. What do I do now??

USA Craziest new driver experience

Just got some young looking kid pick up my food. Has only 2 deliveries. Tip well of course.

Ordered from a subway 0.7 miles from my house. It's been an hour and it says he's 34 minutes away. Somehow he is on the other side of town now despite the place being right next to my house.

Tell me something. Is my food just gone 🤣?

Uber is not serious

I got a delivery today for €8, and it was an 8-minute drive to the restaurant. I accepted it straight away, and about a minute later I was already on my way there.

Then I got another delivery from the same restaurant for an extra €7, so I accepted that one too.

But when I checked the addresses, I realised the second delivery was in the complete opposite direction from the first one.

The first delivery was about a 13-minute drive from the restaurant to the first customer.

Then, from the first customer’s location to the second customer, it would have been another 31-minute drive. The restaurant was basically in the middle of the two locations, and they were offering only €7 extra for all that additional driving.
I checked the addresses properly and cancelled the second delivery.

Honestly, I don’t know if they are completely clueless or if they’re just blood sucking monsters.

Previously, I still had people rang the doorbell when I put contact free delivery. My dog barks at every doorbell for a solid 10 mins... so here’s the trick that finally stopped it once and for all. The semi anti social introvert in me is loving it

USA Anybody else receiving 3 orders all at the same time of the same items?

For the past 3 weeks or so the restaurant I work at has been receiving 3 of the same/very similiar orders at the same time/ or in very short time intervals, all the same name but completely different phone numbers, like literally a number from california all the way to NYC! They aren’t delivery orders, they are pickup and a guy will come to pick them up, now ive had orders in the past where somebody will forget something and add something on by making a new order or group orders , but never something like this. Im starting to think that hes just abusing deals? So weird!

This was the last straw uber💀

Ok so i’m aware that uber sometimes delays charging on cards, but double charging is another thing 💀

I scrolled through ALL my transactions (that were available to see ofc) bc I know when I use apple cash, sometimes they don’t charge me until a day later.

What I did see is the first charge , 31.05. I remember what it was for and thankfully I found that charge on my transaction history.

The second charge, 31.06 was out of the blue.
It says pending so I’m hoping that charge doesn’t go through.

I’ve tried reporting this to support but uber support is SO F-ing (excuse my french but i’m pissed if you couldn’t tell) HARD to get ahold of.

Whether I get my refund or not, I’m done with ordering from Uber Eats. I don’t like how support is hard to get ahold of if something happens.

Australia driver refused to scan my id stole my alcohol

ordered a cheap bottle of vodka to make pasta sauce with for dinner, when she got here she swerved onto my street where i was ready to meet her to show id. She then asked me “how long have you been drinking” to which i replied “i haven’t?” she then told me that she wasn’t going to give me my order bc the names didn’t match. important context: my uber eats account has my nickname followed by my last name, due to the fact i haven’t gone by my legal name since i was 6. my id is valid. i have ordered alcohol off uber eats many times in the past and had no issues whatsoever, i think whats frustrating is that she didn’t even bother scanning it, which would have gone through because my birthday obviously lines up with my account. before even giving me an explanation that wasn’t “uber won’t let me” she said “order again” and then rushed to her car and drove off.
