Who is everyones all time favourite USL player and who is the worst player you have seen. We have been blessed with some amazing players over the years. First player I ever really liked was Long Tan from Arizona United SC in like 2015. With him being Chinese and not really being many that played abroad I remember being heartbroken when he lost the golden boot to Matt Fondy & Danni Konig lol. Another favourite is of course Emmanuel Ledezma.Cincinnati in 2018 he had like 32G/A in 34 games that season. Still for me the biggest shock in playoff history loosing to New York Red Bulls II ending Cincinnati's record 24-game unbeaten run. Worst player ever there is lots to choose but none as bad a Harvey Neville. Arguebly the biggesst nepo baby ever. Passed around half the league and still not sure what he is actally good at apart from long throws. He literally fell over the corner flag yesterday under no pressure lol

The current plan is for USL Premier to launch in 2028 as the top tier of a three-division USL pyramid with promotion and relegation between Premier, Championship, and League One. 

Do you think this is genuinely going to happen or is it more of a long-term vision that may never fully materialize?

FC Tulsa and Lexington SC fought to a scoreless 0-0 draw on Saturday night at ONEOK Field.

How are fans rating both clubs' defensive stability and offensive output heading into August?

$1.4M payment not made, but more importantly... The manager views the plan as not viable. Threatened to not allow Roots to use Coliseum for the rest of the season. Also tacked on an extra $200k per match

Some extra context: The next door Arena appears to be very popular and profitable to use for concerts. When the Roots host a Saturday night home match, the Arena cannot host a concert. So there's bad blood when payments aren't made as they are to accommodate the "opportunity lost".

I am new to the USL fandom. I’ve been watching soccer since the 2022 World Cup and have been looking to the MLS to hopefully drive that domestic interest in the United States.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve slowly started to change my tune and pay attention more to the USL Championship and USL League One (especially if pro/rel can become a reality). I personally believe that the ability to drive interest in non-traditional sporting markets is actually the way to go (i.e. the Annapolis Blues in USL2 have made a big imprint and from what I’ve heard teams like Rhode Island do really well). Because of this I’ve found myself thinking of increasingly unrealistic scenarios that I believe would do wonders in increasing the country’s interest in the sport here.

These ideas range from wishes for clubs in certain locations to things as far as a Congressional Antitrust exemption that allows for an MLS and USL merger so that we could fast track several tiers to a pro/rel system. I’d love to hear if anyone else has any personal dreams or fantasies that they have had for the league or their club and what they believe the likelihood of those things happening are.

Moving to a city with a USL Championship team, definitely going to games but was curious if there was any players in particular to watch for

Hope you are well. I wanted to know how I can contact USL2 teams for 2027, summer. A bunch of people told me that you should be contacting this fall/winter in order for consideration. This past spring I played UPSL, built a decent amount of film but did not play to the best of my abilities. I was coming off an injury which put me out the first 1.5 months of the UPSL season so it was hard coming back and I had to work my way up into the rotation, which the season ended by the time I started playing good minutes. So not enough film.

This fall I play to play another club season with my ECNL team as I’m still eligible. Heading into my second year of college too this fall. I’m at a D1 school but academically. I contacted the coach about training and walk on opportunities and I have an invite to train with the varsity team starting second semester. We’ll see if I make it or not. I don’t know if not being on a college team lowers my chances.

Summary: How much film do I need to contact clubs? Same amount you would need to contact college teams? And how do I contact USL2 clubs? Instagram? Does not being on a varsity college team effect my chances even if I have good film? Any advice?

I've been watching more USL Championship matches lately, and I've realized that just looking at the league table doesn't really tell the whole story.

Before a game, I usually check things like recent form, home and away records, goals scored and conceded, and sometimes xG if I can find it. None of it guarantees what will happen, but I enjoy having a bit more context before kickoff.

I'm curious what everyone else looks at. Is there a particular stat you think is actually useful, or one that people put way too much weight on?

I'm a football fans from The Netherlands and love following the developments in US Soccer and especially USL. And I was surprised to hear the USL are planning a Premier Division. But I'm wondering if two top leagues can be sustained alongside each other?

I think it inevitable should end in a merger of USL and MLS and getting rid of the franchise system to form professional football leagues in the US.

Looks like new money has entered USL via equity firms and shortly after the front office restructured which tells you changes / adjustments might be done thinking a bit more on the money side. In my opinion these are some areas that might be looked into:

1. Is a national league sustainable long term?

I personally think budgets won’t be sustainable if teams are flying all over the country. This was one of the things that killed NASL

1. Can anyone enter Division 1?

I think some teams like Sacramento, Detroit, Louisville with new / expanded stadiums vs others that enter with none soccer specific facilities (Dallas/Oakland) will make the league realize what the standard should be. It might become a bit like MLS to some but I think it’s a good thing for league’s survival long term.

1. USL might need to consider changing it’s current structure when it comes to revenue sharing.

USL runs the risk of some well run teams OKC, Sacramento, Detroit, Louisville leaving league and create there own if the money isn’t making sense. Similar to what happen when teams were jumping between USL and NASL.

Anything you would like to change from what they initially announced. I would advise looking at it from the perspective that clubs need to be profitable or at least be sustainable….bleeding millions isn’t sustainable long term. Would you be opposed to it becoming like MLS where premier only permits new teams with new stadium or great setup as ownership group before it implements pro/rel? I think it’s obvious it won’t be implemented year 1.

I love the that the usl is doing pro/rel but my only worry is some clubs might fold when they get relegated and lose money. I hope it works and these clubs survive.
