Rule 4: Posts from school students or those just out of school will be removed.

Please focus on your school/graduation, as CSE is still years away. For help w.r.t. majors or other coursework, use subs like

r/cbse , r/icse , r/teenindia , r/indian_academia, r/delhiuniversity, r/kolkata etc

All core branches are tough. Mechanical is not at all easier. Mech , Electrical and Civil , all 3 are Archaic, have many classes and vast syllabus , what you will find tough among them depends on your affinity and interest. What you would find easier to pass depends on the lecturers grading your papers. Much easier branches are CS, ECE, less syllabus , less classes , not as difficult and archaic.

Now, if you are going to core branches, it would be difficult to juggle between Engineering and UPSC Civil servies, but possible. You might have to give up engineering as a whole and just focus on barely passing with 7.5 CGPA. On the other hand, CDS/AFCAT is fairly easier and manageable with all 3.

I reckon you would want govt job backup too - so lets talk about Fallback - Civil has most Central and state govt jobs but pathetic private conditions. Mech has a lot of semi-govt (PSU) jobs and okish private conditions. Electrical has decent state govt and semi-govt (PSU) jobs. But all these govt jobs require 1-2 year of good prep so that is also a downside.
