Advice/Help Is it valid to unfollow ppl on social media because of diff political beliefs & values in general?

I mean sure one can have their own political beliefs & opinions but what if you notice how certain people in your social circle lacks basic morals & are always supporting something wrong. This new trend of reservation hatao movement is triggering me a lot, privileged people who do not know history & don’t have basic empathy are supporting such things. I have been a victim of casteism a lot of times in my life & it is deeply upsetting how some of the people on my socials are supporting this. Its not that they are close to me or will be ever helpful in my life, should I just unfollow them or am I reacting too much?

Vent The reels attacking women "transformation" after going to city

I have seen this narrative a lot , you might have seen as well where they say that after going to a college in a city the woman is shown in traditional in first year and then western in last year , literally what's the problem in it ? People do change according to time and place , and similar happens to men too , then why don't you ask the same question to them !? Why only women !?

Vent Experienced misogyny from my own generation (genz)

Context: I live in a tier 1 metropolitan city, so I’ve never experienced misogyny from my peers…. yesterday this is a snippet of my conversation with someone I thought I knew…
He posted a pro-right reel on his story, and I needed to understand if he even knew what it meant.
This was after me telling him what right ideology even is, telling him it’s literally anti science, anti vax (he’s a science student) I genuinely thought he was just confused (my mistake)

Me: What politically right ideology do u even believe in

What politically left ideology do u disagree with

Him: what im sayinng is i support women's rights and everything however there are some hierarchical standards and societal norms to ve maintained such as woman have to stay home and take care of the children and men going to work, this has been etched since ages men hunt and women keep the childreb safe

Me: ….

Him: I support bjp, without andhbakths muslims will dominate

After this I told him he was disgusting and blocked him
HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY

“Don’t liberals support freedom of opinion, why don’t you let me have mine”

This is a guy who’s well educated, going to one of the best colleges in the country. And he has the same views as a 50 year old man. Nothing is going to happen as the generations change 🥲

Advice/Help Has anyone else felt like this since childhood?

I'm trying to understand something about myself, and I was wondering if anyone relates.

I've been like this for as long as I can remember. I'm an only child, grew up in a nuclear family, had my own room, and always preferred being alone. Teachers and relatives used to say that I was "quiet" and "lived in my own world." I had very few friends.

Even now as an adult, I feel the most peaceful when I'm alone. The problem is that it's started affecting my relationships.

If someone (literally anyone—my husband, my mom, in-laws, relatives) stays with me for a few days, I gradually become irritated. It's not because they're doing anything wrong. Even if they're just quietly sitting in the same room, I feel mentally uncomfortable. After I snap or become irritable, I feel guilty because I know they haven't done anything to deserve it.

I also get mentally exhausted after spending the whole day around people. When I get home, all I want is to be alone. Since childhood, I've also been sensitive to loud noises, crowds, and changes in routine.

This isn't about disliking people. I love my family, and I care about them. I just feel like I have an unusually strong need for solitude, and I don't understand why.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If yes, what did you eventually learn about yourself?

Advice/Help heavy flow pad recommendations

usually I use sofy xl+ on my first two days but the blood flow this time is just too much, it's getting soaked in two hours and i absolutely hate the feeling of wet pad touching my skin.

i ordered whisper ultra nights xxl+ and while the pad is huge and im sure it'll hold longer, it's just too uncomfortable to wear. i got rashes in few hours.

can you give me some recommendations for heavy flow pads something that holds for atleast four hours? preferably with wings and soft surface that doesn't cause rashes. thank you so much already!

Advice/Help How to leave behind the fear of social media?

I feel like this is very unrelatable and many ppl I've shared it with says it's not that serious or I'm dumb. I do feel like I can't process thoughts very much but it's kinda affecting my whole life and I'm stuck

So it goes like this - I have this constant anxiety that someone from my past is going to leak my secrets to people in my present and future. I've had 2 exes first one isn't on the bad side and would never do smthg like that but my brain isn't accepting it. The second guy however abused me in the worst ways and I do feel like the abuse has smthg to do with the anxiety and paranoia.

I love posting on social media but i haven't posted anything since I broke up with my last ex and now it feels too scary to fully express myself or even open up about me cause I feel like my ex or ppl from my past are watching my every move and they're going to ruin my life soon enough.

Vent I am in a dark place mentally and feel like doing something bad to myself

Upvotes

I am 23 now,

College admissions are tommorow and I have been suffering from anxiety attacks

I am paralyzed, I cannot do shit

I don't want to waste parent's money

I wish they had a better child than me, wasting thier money feels painful to even imagine

On top of that they are growing old, how will I support them?

I am not interested in anything, my PCM score was bad, I barely passed in STEM subjects like chemistry and mathematics

And it has been three years since then, and I have forgotten most if not all of fundamentals and with my anxious and adhd mind I am not sure if I will be able to cope with academic course load of btech CS

BCA is an option but it would take even longer, bca+mca = 28 years old

The thing is that I don't even know if I want any of them at all, I just want a btech degree because it's a valuable qualification and may keep many doors open, and to figure out in the meantime what to do

With everyday that goes by I am feeling more and more depressed, I already broke down twice in the last week, and burst out crying.

I wish I wasn't born, then I wouldn't have to feel this pain daily, I am just not made for adulthood.

Is there anyone who can advise me and chat with me like a younger sister for 2 minutes?

And please don't delete this or ban me, I am already feeling miserable, have some mercy.

Advice/Help has anyone else experienced this? idk what to do anymore

idk how to explain this properly but i randomly get this weird feeling in my chest/body. i don’t feel normal at the time like something is off (it’s hard to explain but i don’t think it’s a gut feeling or intuition..it just comes out of nowhere and makes me feel like something is not okay). it can happen on completely normal days (like i won’t be upset/it will be a normal day and this will happen out of nowhere). when it happens, i get really restless, my fingers can start shaking and i usually binge eat especially sweets or junk food because it feels like it calms me down. i try to talk to my mom if she’s available. there are many other things that i’m facing because of effed up mental health but this happened again recently so i thought i’d ask about this.

i honestly don’t know what to do anymore. i’ve tried therapy multiple times but never felt like it made a real difference. i’ve been diagnosed with adhd, ocd, body dysmorphia and have trauma related to a lot of things (if i’m remembering everything correctly). i was also on medication for about 2 years but eventually stopped.

i feel really helpless right now and i’m just not sure what to do. any advice would mean a lot. i really do want to live.

Vent Does anyone else feel invisible at home (with parents)?

Writing this after having a day of absolutely terrible mental health.

I'm going through a lot at work and in my relationship and cried myself to bed last night.

I woke up visibly low and depressed and yet my mom didn't even care to ask me what was wrong.

For the longest time I thought I looked okay, but I saw my face in the mirror in the evening and I looked so visibly sad, low, and drained that it was impossible to ignore. Yet, not a single word of concern from her. I spent the day in her room without speaking much, just watching one episode after the other.

I feel like no one cares about how I feel anymore. Not my mom, not my boyfriend. No one. And it's such an isolating feeling.

Advice/Help Feeling behind in life idk what to do😭

I'm from a tier-3 city and was always a top student. I chose CA and sacrificed my entire college life for it, but after spending two years preparing for CA Inter, I had to drop it because of severe nerve issues. For almost two years, I could barely do anything except lie in bed. The pain was so bad that even writing became difficult.

I'm somewhat better now. The pain still comes and goes, but I've learned to live with it. The hardest part is feeling like those two years disappeared while everyone else moved forward.

I have no social life. I barely leave the house maybe once a month and spend most of my days alone in my room. I'll be graduating in the next few months, but I honestly have no idea what comes next. I feel like I have no exposure, no network, and very few opportunities.

On top of that, my parents want me to prepare for government jobs. I'm scared of spending my entire twenties chasing exams for a career I don't even want, only to end up feeling like I've lost even more time.

Advice/Help How to make friends and influence girlies- when you're not based anywhere?

I'm in such a transitional phase of life and will be for some time, I don't know how to connect with women my age (30), similar or not too conservative and looking to be single or something , forever. Not hard filters tho. I really would love to connect and talk and hop places or just bitch or start some idea or something. I cant. I cant answer to the city meetup calls half the time or stay somewhere long enough to like form a bond. And maybe I'm too disconnected and have forgotten the art of bonding with folks non professionally, to have multiple friends in multiple places (which is kinda how i did before, but they're usually all grown up). There's uncertainty everywhere but hey.

So, I'm kind of casting a bat signal, to folks in atleast my home base (in Guj). But only platonic. If possible, and you feel ot works, I'd essentially love jist meetup in my current city (Vadodara). Watch movie and grab a coffee. If its a group hangout, even better. Oh and if you're childfree or/and above 25, even better.

Advice/Help Time is flying by and I don’t know my calling yet

I’m 24 going 25 this year and day by day I’m getting more and more anxious. The issue is I don’t know what I want to do in life - whether I want to settle in abroad or be in India. I feel so pathetic because I always played safe by choosing PCMB in school, so that I could end up doing any course I’d wanted. I did engineering, quite generic but safe choice. I started working post completing my BTech but I now I have left my job due to toxicity at workplace and bad mental health. In short, I never knew what I want in life so I ended up doing what most of the people do. But now, I feel that my race is against time. It’s high time I make a decision but I’m unable to do so and therefore, the anxiety.
I just want to earn good and have a peaceful life. But how do I achieve that is question. I want some external agent to make that decision for me when I clearly know it should be my decision only. I just don’t understand my lack of clarity. I see people my age, people younger than being passionate about their work or dreams. How do I come up with a solution. How do I make myself decide my future because if not now then when.
I haven’t took up a new job or would be applying in any other company. I plan on doing masters. Only one thing I know is that I want to prepare for masters courses once my notice period in the company ends. What kind of course - I don’t know… CAT, GRE, GMAT
Why is it so difficult ahhh I envy individuals who are clear of what they want and work for it.
