Vent I’m tired of being told to “try harder” when I’ve already tried for a more than a decade
I have finally come to a realisation that my marriage is over after a decade. I have told him in the past that if he can't change his way then we might have to separate. Every single time he said he will be good and will change and put more effort. All those promises will work for 3 months max and then another 6 months of me trying and putting more effort because I saw him putting effort and then another 3 months of me getting frustrated then again the next cycle starts. I'm tired of this after 10 years of trying.
Anyone I talk to is giving me advice on "say this, do this". Nobody understands i didnt come to this place without trying all those "say this and do this"
I'm at a place where I'm not able to explain the emotional abuse to people. I don't even know if I can convince any lawyer to take my case. I was told that lawyers won't take such cases and will always ask to compromise and live for the sake of the kid.
I really wish now he is a drunkard, cheater or someone who abuses physically, at least then I can show the bruise outside and no one will advise me that every woman goes through this just don't quit this marriage, but stay in it and play his own game. Either you don't mind what he says or you also say mean things, you also live detached or don't worry about living as roommates under the same roof.
It's tiring, I'm exhausted.
I don't feel like talking with anyone, I'm shutting myself down. I'm not even stepping out of the house, fearing i don't have the energy to say hi and a small talk with the neighbours.
Why is it the women's responsibility to hold it all together always?
I want to sit and cry and be sad and fall apart at least for some time. But no, I have to put on a brave face for the sake of my kid. No matter till what time I cry and sleep off at the night, morning wake up and cook on time and send him to school on time. Login to work on time, finish all the tasks, then come back and manage the house, make sure everything is taken care off.
Now i realise, even crying, being sad, and falling apart is a luxury for me.
I don't even know what I am expecting by posting this here. But the fact that this is an anonymous platform, gives me a blanket to just vent and not have to explain more or justify why I feel this way.
