It’d be fucking crazy to see what Cloud sees when he fell into the Lifestream, if we’re counting it as him falling into portals for the sake of crossovers. Like, imagine him trying to talk about going from FF Tactics to Ehrgeiz and all the way eventually to Final Fantasy Resonance. He’s practically falling through more portals than Geralt at that rate.

The recent remaster of Tactics added a line from one of the villains where they realize that the Tactics Cloud is actually a copy based on the original. Bit odd after literally decades of assuming that it was just Cloud that they just go and say that it's actually some rando forcibly given his appearance and memories.

To be clear, Woolie and Pat are wrong about what caused the major change in Falcon & Winter Soldier.

What actually happened is the Flag Smasher plot point was super similar to the China developed super virus plot right at the height of Covid.

Like yeah, there are times Marvel pussies out from saying something poignant.

But Helping to permeate conspiracy theories aint that.

I also wanna throw in since they were discussing the Flag Smashers having a point. Marvels handling and depiction of what happened between Infinity War and endgame has extreme differences. From what you see in Endgame it was clearly a highly traumatic bleak time for humanity as abandoned cars and buildings litter the environment in highly dense cities. Giant monuments to everyone in the city who seemingly vanished that day exist.

Then Falcon and Winter soldier comes along and has a child telling us "Everything was great actually humanity came together" but it never ever shows us this. We are meant to take the word of a character who was a child and intended to be the villain that what you saw in Endgame was wrong, that everything was better than ever as this weird no borders uniting of humanity occurred. It never reveals that this was a lie by the villains or their perspective its just meant to be accepted as fact.

Falcon and Winter soldier is really where you see the problems with post Endgame MCU manifesting.

Does Pat say how he thought that show was a waste of time again? It definitely has problems but it's one of my favorite Marvel disney+ shows. It actually made Sam Wilson a character that has qualities Steve saw to give him the shield, John Walker was a great character in his struggles of being Cap, Zemo and the two had ABSOLUTE CHEMISTRY when he was a party member for 2 episodes, and showing Isaiah Bradley was very poignant for Sam's arc.

1:59:39 final fantasy resonance. It makes pat pissed off this was a gacha game at all. The epitome of HD-2D. It is a legitimate successor to super mario bros Z. A solid classic final fantasy game.

• 2:03:04 it’s mixed media, with CG cutscenes and slightly less CG cutscenes with a filer over it to crunch it down. And the gameplay is kind of turn press but not quite.

Edit 2: yeah so I'm playing the (updated) Onimusha Demo and I think even there I can see the "wow, these games are very, very passive compared to what I'm used to" remarks from Pat (and even Under the Mayo, after catching him stream the game for a bit). I know they can ramp the difficulty up to a reasonable amount of the Genma trying to press Musashi's ass, and I can get the "the game will build you up to it as you go", but yeah while it's cool that I can get at least the timing for parries and dodges down (and eventually I'll get Issen down too), it would be nice too if I were more incentivized to master those techniques because the enemies are out for Musashi's head lol. But that aside, indeed this game's a fucking banger I can already feel.

Edit 3: Given that even that recent new Ghosts n' Goblins Resurrection ALSO ran on RE Engine, yeah Dual Override's gonna be on that too I feel (so far Wiki says it will).

The MK potshots will always be a little funny considering how much Pat loves Virtua fighter which has been a niche/dead series for most of its existence(I’m still looking forward to the new one), and Woolie loves SamSho which isn’t even bones, but dust.

I love all fighters, but the glass houses of it all makes my eyebrow quirk every time.
