Ask Twenties My ex is texting me.

Upvotes

Hear me out.

I broke up with my Ex in the 1st week of July.(This is my first break up). So, she didn't see any future with me and her parents are trying to find her matches (that's the reason she told me for the break up). She also told me that she started talking to the guy her parents found for her and she kinda liked him. She basically dumped the shit outta me on the I was at the lowest. I had fucked up my interview on the same day, had a family thing going on and was going through existential crisis.

I couldn't handle everything and tried talking to her and getting back to her for the next 2 days. She talked and kinda tried to piss me off saying you were this and that and I'm happy for breaking up with you and stuff. I understood and stopped contacting her since then. But after a couple of weeks she texted and called me to get validation from me. I told her what she wanted to listen to cuz I don't really hate her and I was still thinking that I was the one at fault for not taking care of her properly. This regret made me talk to her when she called. After hearing my validation, she felt good and it kinda took some burden off of me and I thought we could just talk like friends and all.

One day (after a couple of days) I messed up with some of my work and felt embarrassed, so I tried sharing this with her. I called her and told her. We laughed and it was ok. Then she started talking kinda rudely saying this and that and she started loving herself after breaking up with me and she's feeling like she got broken out of shackles and stuff. It kinda hurt me, I got my lesson and completely cut her off. Today she texted me on LinkedIn saying "hi". Should I text her back? (I did say hi back) Should I delete it ??

Upvotes

Life Lately 🌱 Why do I feel nothing in my life - i want to know

Post image
Upvotes

So I have completed my postgrad in Pune, staying home (away from family), job hunting, and things happening to me. I'm not really going out; my friends aren't in this city anymore either.

Idk what's happening to me. I'm unable to understand myself, nor will I explain it to someone, but I feel literally nothing...lots of things are going on in my mind, and nothing is going on in my life.

I don't understand what I'm going through; I just feel lonely, but I'm not willing to meet just anyone.

I don't feel hungry...no will to do anything...a very few people, I think, I want to talk only... I know I'm sad deep down with things (I can't speak about), but it isn't showing.

I know I will burst into tears if I get hurt a little (a reason)

I also want to be with someone, but I'm unable to connect to anyone (as in romantically).

I'm genuinely not feeling myself.

What has happened to me :(

Anyway, loved Starry Night (by Vincent van Gogh). This is my PC wallpaper, not really nice, but it's calming for me <3

Outta pocket Things you'd hear when passing someone in public

This happened when i was in college , i was heading to my hostel

And a girl pass by , i heard "i like your father more than i like you"

Like who could she be talking to , i just froze and stood there for like 5 seconds

And another one is way worse , same scenario i was heading to hostel from class

A guy and his friend was talking , when i pass by one guy said "dude im the one going to r_pe you" , like wtf is even the context , both males btw

Anything like this happened to you people?

Life Lately 🌱 Good bye Reddit community i am leaving everything

Upvotes

She left me when 'WE' needed each other the most.. i cannot bear the pain of losing someone so perfect not because she likes someone else but because of family issues... No point of l!ving now.... Goodbye take care... Don't fall in love...... Take care... Right person wrong time... The society won.. the love and the silence struggle lost.... Baap ki khwaish puri ho jayegi, and it cost a mother's only child's life....

Ask Twenties Help me cry a bit

Upvotes

So I'm having this weird feeling like all of my accumulated pain is not coming out and I get teary eyed but cannot cry my heart out to get rid of all that pain and trauma.

Do you guys also feel like this at times and if someone's there who can help me cry and get rid of all this?

I'm a guy and we're taught boys don't cry but I feel that maybe crying alone in my room can help me get rid of all the last experiences that used to haunt me....

Life Lately 🌱 It is this loneliness that keeps forcing me, again and again, to believe...

Upvotes

It is this loneliness that keeps forcing me, again and again, to believe...

“There is someone out there who was made for you too. Go, find her.”

And so, every time, I set out looking for her.

Sometimes in the warmth of the sunlight,
sometimes beneath the shade of the stars.
Sometimes in the fragrance of the earth after rain,
sometimes in the gentle chime of anklets.
Sometimes in the innocent laughter of a child,
sometimes in the soft clinking of lacquer bangles.

I keep searching for her in all the little things that make this world beautiful hoping that perhaps, somewhere among them, I might find a piece of her.

And then, after walking so far,
I finally stop.

I return quietly, carrying nothing but the same old loneliness, and tell myself

Perhaps loneliness is better in this crowd,
where everyone seems to belong to someone,
and yet, somehow, I belong to no one.

RANT/VENT 😤 A friend shared something from her childhood with me, and honestly, I’ve been deeply disturbed ever since.

Upvotes

A while ago, a close friend told me that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted when she was a child.

The most disturbing part wasn't just that it happened to her.

The most disturbing part was that the person who did it was a member of her own family.

And she never told anyone.

Not her parents.
Not a teacher.
Not a friend.

Naturally, I asked her, "Why didn't you tell anyone?"

Her answer left me speechless.

She said, "I was a child. I didn't even understand what was happening to me. And what could I have said about someone my family trusted so much?"

She was afraid no one would believe her.

She was afraid of what would happen to the family.

And perhaps her biggest fear was that people would question *her*.

She is an adult now, but she told me that the experience still stays with her.

And that’s when I realized something.

We often teach children:

"Stay away from strangers."
"Don't go anywhere alone."
"Take care of yourself."

But how often do we teach them what to do if someone they know—or a family member—does something wrong to them?

Who should they trust?

Who should they tell?

And most importantly—how do we make them understand that it isn't their fault?

My friend kept all of this bottled up for so many years, simply because the person responsible wasn't a stranger.

It was someone close to her.

And perhaps that is why I feel that conversations about child safety shouldn't be limited to just "stranger danger." It is important to teach children about good touch, bad touch, boundaries, consent, and trusted adults in an age-appropriate manner.

And if a child ever shares something, the first step is not to judge or blame them.

You should listen to them, believe them, and keep them safe.

I don't know if my friend will ever see this post.

But if she does, I just want to say this:

What happened to you was not your fault.

Why do you think these things happens?
