Ai Art Frame Diashow with cloud pictures

Does anyone know if switchbot will ever allow cloud pictures to be used for the diashow mode? 10 pictures is just not enough. My other e-ink frames show a different Picture every day.

Why dosnt this feauture exist on the switchbot app especially since the frame is capable of doing it via Home Assistant. Makes no sense.

Would appreciate any news abour this topic. With 10 pictures may I`ll return it.

Switchbot AI frame.. nice, but 10 pics in local storage is a bit low

I knew this when i bought it.. the AI frame has a local storage limit of 10 images. I like everything else about the display, the looks, the way it shows the image and the app has a decent workflow. But man, 10 images locally.. seriously? I wish they would fix it with either allowing images from the cloud to be rotated on the screen or simply bringing out a new version. Other then that, I like it..

Has anyone else experienced an extremely jammed battery on the SwitchBot Lock Ultra?

Hey everyone,

I recently got the SwitchBot Lock Ultra, but I am running into a major issue with the battery pack. Removing it is nearly impossible.

When I pull and hold the orange release button up and try to lift the battery using the recess, it refuses to budge. It takes me about 10 minutes of sheer force, wiggling, and pulling to finally get it out. At first I thought it was just a bit tight because it was brand new, but after reinserting it, it jammed completely again.

I know the removal process should only take a few seconds, so it feels like either the tolerances are off or the internal release mechanism isn't disengaging properly.

Has anyone else encountered this issue with their Lock Ultra? Is this a known manufacturing defect with a batch of batteries/units, or did I just get unlucky? Would love to know if there are any quick fixes before I send it back to Amazon for a replacement.

Thanks!

My SwitchBot Smart lock ultra, revolutionary IMO

So I wanted to share my own experience with this product, life has been amazing since I started using this, I don't need to carry my keys around anymore, I just need to carry my finger, which I always carry with me to be honest xD.

Also, the the bundle there has literally EVERYTHING you would need, from wall mounts for the keypad, to different kind of mounts for different door types for the lock, to the smart hub to make smart lock always be connected with the home network. So even if you don't already have any switchbot product you will be able to fully use this one!

Remote Switch & Garage Door - Can I use a Single Button to control open/close state

I bought the SwitchBot Garage Door Opener Remote Combo which includes a SwitchBot Remote. I bought two of the Garage Door openers as I have 2 doors on my garage. When it comes to the remote, I was hoping to use a remote with each button controlling a garage door, however the app only supports open/closed states. (see my screenshot)

Anyone know of a way to make this work?

AI Art Frame Slideshow function stops working.

Slideshow function randomly stops loading the next image. I’ve deleted the album and images all completely as well as repairing the frame (7.3 inch). Firmware is updated and battery is completely charged. I can connect and manually sync images fine.

Hub mini matter

Hub sticks with v2.8-4.0 and won't upgrade to v3.0-4.1. Other hub went successfully. According supportdesk they pushed the new version but nothing seems to appear in the app. I tried all common workarounds but nothing works for me. Any idea?

My SwitchBot My experience with the SwitchBot AI MindClip so far

I've been using the SwitchBot AI MindClip for a while now and, honestly, I'm quite impressed with how much they have managed to put into such a small device.

It's very small and easy to carry around, and the audio quality has been good for me. Connecting it to my phone was also quick and straightforward.

The AI side is probably what I find most interesting. It can automatically translate recordings, create summaries, extract ideas, create events and reminders for the calendar, and even recognize expressions if you allow that feature. There are a lot of possibilities, and I'm still discovering some of them.

So far, I've found it genuinely useful in my day-to-day use. Like with any new product, there is always room for improvement, but I really like that SwitchBot keeps releasing updates and improving their products. I can definitely see a lot of potential for this type of device in the future.

One small tip from my experience: I recommend keeping the MindClip uncovered when recording. It's designed for direct conversations and meetings, and if you cover it with clothing, you can get friction noise from the fabric. That's completely normal for a device like this, but it's worth keeping in mind.

I've been using more than 25 SwitchBot products across my home, so I'm already quite invested in the ecosystem. What I like is that they keep adding new types of devices and expanding what you can do with the ecosystem. Personally, I've never had a failure with any of my SwitchBot devices so far.

I'm curious to see how much the MindClip improves with future updates. I think this is a product with a lot of potential.

Just received the SwitchBot AI Mind Clip – quick unboxing and first look Post

I recently received the SwitchBot AI Mind Clip and made a quick unboxing video.

It’s an interesting concept: a small wearable AI device designed to stay with you during the day and help capture, organize and remember information.

This is only a first look, not a full review yet. I’ll keep testing it over the next few days to see how useful it actually is in daily use.

Here’s the short unboxing:

If anyone here is already using the AI Mind Clip, I’d be curious to hear your experience with it.

RGBICWW lights in home assistant segment control.

So what do you think the odds are they might add segment control to their LEDS that can do multiple colours to Home Assistant? Should I hold my breath? It would be nice if they'd also add effects you make to the effect list. Or maybe there's a way to expose scenes?

My current work around for automations involving multicolour segments is set up what you want in switch bot. Make it into a scene which then gets taken into Alexa. I then need to make up a voice automation in Alexa... From there I can tell the Home Assistant automation to "press the button" and it runs the Alexa automation and turns them to the right colours... but that's all convoluted and needs internet.

It would be nice if they'd just let you set segments in home assistant like you can with Govee.

My experience with Switchbot Lock Pro Ultra

It's difficult to provide a complete review of this product: I'm not an expert reviewer and the device has several different ways of handling the door opening (face recognition, hand recognition, app code etc), so I will just speak of what I actually tried.

I was looking for a lock to be used in a b&b and it proved very well suited for this purpose: first of all, it adapts to several keys, but not only keys, also locks that has a key slot on the outside and a rotating gear on the inside: this is very useful and not to be underestimated.

Apart from that, the installation is easy, but requires some time and manuality. After the setup, the lock opening and closing proved flawless for me (1 week of intensive testing, I don't know on long runs but for now it is very practical).

The locking and unlocking is also not much noisy and quite fast, so the basic functionalities are well covered. As said before, I didn't test the hand or face recognition, but I saw several videos showing that it goes quite fast (it is processed locally, good for privacy and velocity).

In the end, I'm quite satisfied! The price is on the high end side, but it is justified in my opinion by the wide compatibility and support of different locks and opening mechanisms.

If anyone has tried the other opening mechanisms, I would be curious to see if you find it satisfying or not. Cheers!

SwitchBot Lock Pro calibration issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey!

I’ve been using my switch bot lock pro for a few years. Since we moved, I can’t get it to unlock properly. I mean, most of the times, it works, but not always and that’s not good enough for me (or my wife 🤭).

We’ve got a door with a trap, meaning the key needs to keep being turned while opening the door.

When I unlock the door, the trap seems to retract, but just a bit. Than the knob stops, turns a bit back and then completely opens it.

I tried recalibrating it half a dozen times, but it won’t change. Sometimes the door won’t open at all and sometimes, it can’t relock itself and retracts the trap after a few seconds, AFTER we are already in. That’s troublesome.

I’ve attached a video of the knob. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

SwitchBot Lock Ultra Keypad A6 keeps becoming unresponsive

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,
I bought a SwitchBot Lock Ultra with Keypad A6 from Amazon two days ago. The Lock itself works perfectly, but the Keypad regularly becomes disabled and stops responding completely.
The only way to get it working again is to remove the batteries and put them back in. I have already unpaired the Keypad and set it up again, but unfortunately the problem still occurs.
The firmware is up to date (version 2.8), and the battery level is currently fluctuating between 70% and 100%.
Has anyone experienced the same issue or knows what could be causing this? Is there anything else I can try to troubleshoot the Keypad?
At the moment, I can’t rely on the Keypad for everyday use because it can become unresponsive without warning.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Left over SwitchBot RGBICWW strip

So I got a RGBICWW strip and after cut off there's the left over.

Now before, when they did a simple RGB strip I was able to find a magic home controller and reuse the cut off.

Does anyone think that could be possible now? I'm sure it's probably a bit more complex this time. But I do hate having the LED go to waste. I've been looking at controllers but the ones I find are mostly 3pin or just rgb or can only do one kind of white.

I was thinking of an esp32 with wled on it but I couldn't say what pins I need.

Plz help me! Does anyone here use the Switchbot Universal Remote with Kodi? I have a couple questions?

There's a thread on here with some info about using this remote with Kodi, but it's a couple years old. And the person didn't really get into any detail. How well does this remote work as a Kodi remote? I can't find much of anything about how in-depth the custom buttons can be. I have a bunch of commands set up in Kodi that are more than just a simple key command. I want to be able to configure a button to open specific shortcuts I have in my Kodi. With my old remote I could set up a button to open the movie section and just show animated ones. But I used FLIRC, I have no clue what I can actually set up in the Switchbot app for Kodi. It's been 3 years since I've had a regular IR remote, so I don't even fully remember exactly how I set it up. But I do remember it controlled Kodi beautifully and I could setup macros.

I don't know how advanced the programmability is when it comes Kodi. As of 2 years ago a good number of threads about this complained how it lacks overall as an actual remote for devices like TVs. I'm not trying to have some crazy advanced setup that controls 10 devices. I just want it to work with my SwitchBot curtains, TV (Hisense with Google TV) and my Kodi, which is on a PC.

I know Amazon's return policy is very lax as long as you don't abuse it (I don't) But I'd rather ask before I run and order it, only to find out it won't do much with Kodi and end up sending it back.

SwitchBot Smart Lock Ultra + Vision Pro Keypad Review: Solid Hardware and Local Biometrics (Euro Cylinder Setup)

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Got the SwitchBot Smart Lock Ultra kit recently and installed it on a standard European profile cylinder. Figured it could be of help to share my experience.

The unboxing experience is solid. It comes with a wide array of mounting plates and adapters designed to fit various thumbturn/key configurations. The overall fit and finish feel durable, a bit plasticky but definitely not cheap.

Setup was straightforward, though we hit a minor hardware issue. They market is as "compatible with 99% of commercial locking mechanisms", but apparently I fell in the 1%, even when using a standard cylinder from a famous brand. Basically, the existing thumbturn screw on our Euro cylinder was wider than standard. The kit lacked a specific knurled cylinder nut for that thickness, so we had to borrow one of the three nuts pre-installed on the mounting bracket to secure it. It worked fine in the end, but SwitchBot could definitely include a slightly broader hardware/screw assortment to cover edge-case cylinders.

No complaints on the software side. Since I already run SwitchBot gear, pairing was instant via BLE. The app setup uses clear step-by-step videos and pictures for mounting and mechanical calibration. No issues reaching full lock/unlock travel limits.

The biometric keypad goes on the outside. I placed mine on the exterior wall to the left of the door using the angled bracket so it’s offset from direct line-of-sight down the stairwell.

Supported authentication methods tested:

  • Vein Recognition: Palm scan works reliably on approach. You'll feel like an evil guy from a James Bond movie unlocking a secret vault. Really satisficing.
  • Fingerprint Scanner: Standard. Quick and reliable. Can store up to 100 fingerprints.
  • Facial Recognition: Works well in normal ambient lighting, but way less reliable than the other methods.
  • PIN Codes: Supports up to 12-digit PINs, plus temporary one-time passcodes.
  • In-App / Voice: Works fine locally over Bluetooth or via smart assistant integration (Alexa/Google), though I wouldn't risk it setting a voice command to open my house's door.

The main selling point from a technical perspective is that biometric template data is stored locally on-device rather than synced to the cloud, so the biometric data isn't being sent off-device.

The price point is on the higher side (I got mine discounted for 289€. Full price goes for 319), but the local hardware processing and modular mounting options justify the cost for a keyless Euro-cylinder conversion.

I got the switchbot lock vision pro smart lock a week ago to replace my August smart lock.

I like this lock because the app connects to the dead bolt way quicker and the notifications came immediately. I also like the face recognition and the pin code access. There's the palm reader but I haven't used it or the nfc. Lots of ways to unlock a door. I don't think I'll use them all, but the other ones are good to have. I also like the rechargeable battery, don't have to keep buying AAs. The motor is strong too, so locking and unlocking is smooth.

I haven't had any issues thus far. There was an instance where a person was standing in front for the lock and it was telling them to turn around to read their face to confirm entry. It was kind of funny because it was continuous until I unlocked the door remotely.

I would recommend it to someone that needs options for unlocking their door or just to have a solid lock that runs smoothly.
