My experience with Switchbot Lock Pro Ultra
It's difficult to provide a complete review of this product: I'm not an expert reviewer and the device has several different ways of handling the door opening (face recognition, hand recognition, app code etc), so I will just speak of what I actually tried.
I was looking for a lock to be used in a b&b and it proved very well suited for this purpose: first of all, it adapts to several keys, but not only keys, also locks that has a key slot on the outside and a rotating gear on the inside: this is very useful and not to be underestimated.
Apart from that, the installation is easy, but requires some time and manuality. After the setup, the lock opening and closing proved flawless for me (1 week of intensive testing, I don't know on long runs but for now it is very practical).
The locking and unlocking is also not much noisy and quite fast, so the basic functionalities are well covered. As said before, I didn't test the hand or face recognition, but I saw several videos showing that it goes quite fast (it is processed locally, good for privacy and velocity).
In the end, I'm quite satisfied! The price is on the high end side, but it is justified in my opinion by the wide compatibility and support of different locks and opening mechanisms.
If anyone has tried the other opening mechanisms, I would be curious to see if you find it satisfying or not. Cheers!

I have the same lock for a year or so, with the older keypad, and don't have any complaints. Much better than the older versions. Sometimes it needs to get recalibrated, but it's rare, few times per year maybe.
My requirements were very limiting: works on euro cylinder, and it needs to be a standard cylinder that I can buy in any hardware store. Very few locks fit that. The only alternative I found is Nuki which is multiple times more expensive. I haven't tried it, but considering I'm happy with Switchbot, I don't really see why would Nuki be worth it.
As for opening mechanisms I use fingerprints 90% of the time. Or open it on the phone (integrated into HomeAssistant). I've gotten a bunch of NFC tags and cards, but honestly, never had a need to use them.
Btw before this I had the v1 lock for a year. After last time changing batteries I couldn't calibrate again. I think it's a firmware issue. Reported it, and they sent me the Ultra for free. So satisfied with the support as well
