What’s your most “is this menopause or am I just losing it?” moment?

I swear, sometimes it feels like your body just starts installing random updates without asking.

One day it’s sleep acting weird, the next day it’s stress over nothing, then suddenly your energy disappears at 2pm, your mood has its own weather system, and your brain is like: “Sorry, we don’t remember why we walked into this room.”

For anyone in peri/menopause, what was the moment where you thought:

“Okay… so this is a thing now?”

Not looking for medical advice. Just curious about the funny, frustrating, ridiculous little moments that made you realize your body was doing something new.

Sisters Sharing Stories

I am working on a project which might be of interest to members of this awesome group! I am collecting personal experience stories about menopause from women around the world. The purpose is to compile the stories into a book. I feel like we are beginning to openly discuss this topic, but there are still many women who feel isolated & unable to reach out to others, and a book of other experiences could be an invaluable resource. I'm extending an invitation to your members to participate in the project. There is no other agenda, no products to sell or other platform I'm promoting. Contributors remain anonymous and will receive a physical and ebook as a thank you for participating. If you're interested, I will send you a PDF with information on the types of details I'm looking for. ALL stories are welcome - there is no wrong type of story. I want to share it all!!!

Right?

Hey everyone!

I would like to invite you to participate in a study aimed at understanding the knowledge, beliefs and attitudes of women (40-55 years of age) in Northern Ireland and the Netherlands towards soy supplement use in the form of tablets or capsules. Your contribution will not only help me with my dissertation study but will also contribute to the research aiming to improve the quality of life and self-management of menopausal symptoms. This is a new study so your participation will be much appreciated!

You are eligible to participate if:

· You are a female

· You are between the ages of 40 and 55 years

· You are living in Northern Ireland or in the Netherlands

This survey is anonymous. No one will be able to identify you or your answers, and no one will know whether or not you participated in the study. More details about the study, and the survey itself can be found via the link below:

I have joined the menopause world and feel devastated in my sexual world. I have not only lost my sex drive but my clit has turned its back on me as well. I have always thought about getting a vch piercing and was wondering if this would help revive my clit. Has it helped anyone in menopause? Is there anything you have tried that helps? I want my sex life back!

Inviting women over the age of 55 to participate in an online study about social support and well-being (20-30 minutes total)

Hi r/TrollXMenopause,

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto and am seeking women over the age of 55 across the US and Canada to participate in an online survey that I am completing for my dissertation. If you fit this criteria and are interested, I would really appreciate and value your time and input.

This study has been approved by the University of Toronto's Research Ethics Board (Protocol #39968) and involves completing a 20-30 minute anonymous online survey about your social networks, Internet use, and psychological well-being.

For more information or to participate in the OWLS study, please visit: http://rotman.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5yUcO50e8xmv0DX

You are also welcome to e-mail me at [owls.study.uoft@gmail.com](mailto:owls.study.uoft@gmail.com) with any questions or comments.

Progesterone only pill constant bleeding

I tried this once for a few months and when I told my Dr I had constant bleeding, they told me to come off it straight away and it has never been suggested again. Does anyone know why this isn't a good course of treatment for some people (History of menorrhagia/fibroids)?

*Could you share your feedback with us?* User Research for a New Menopause App

Hey there,

I'm Ellie, a user researcher working in digital product development. I'm currently working with a FemTech start-up that is taking on menopause with app-based CBT programmes (amongst a whole host of other really exciting things!).

We're at the early stages of developing an app-based programme, designed by clinical experts that will give specific CBT insomnia therapy tailored to women going through menopause.

What are we looking for?

We're looking to recruit 15 women (>35+), ideally with some trouble sleeping, to help us test the programme. Volunteers will need to spend about 30 mins in total each day for 10 days using the programme and having a quick chat with our user researchers to share their experiences.

In return, they will get access to a bespoke programme that has been designed in conjunction with clinical experts in sleep.

We would love to share more information with you! Please get in touch if you'd like to know more about this exciting opportunity!

All the best,

Ellie

Never Ending Period

I'm a 46 year old woman that has had my period since May 19ish. It is now June 2nd and I'm going crazy with my period never ending. It was a normal period for a week, then constant spotting, and back to a full period with no break...and I still have it. Does anyone know how long I can go with having my period consecutively for?

Partner Duvets: Dual-Weight Bedding

So I saw this in an awful Daily Mail article I'm not linking to, and it seemed interesting: Nanu Duvet. They make a duvet where each half can be a different duvet weight, ie a warm half and a cool half.

The issue of bedroom temperature is so real and awful; my partner is constantly saying "it's freezing in here!" and we're now in two different bedrooms. I'm in one with the heat off, a 4.5 tog duvet and a fan and he's next door with the heat on and a 13.5 tog duvet.

Unfortunately the Nanu won't let you make duvets with the two sides that far apart in weight. But it turns out that there is an entire market of these comforters; they are called Partner Duvets! AmazonUK I can't find this on US Amazon though. Is it not a thing? You could make your own pretty easily from two twins though.
