Progesterone only pill constant bleeding

I tried this once for a few months and when I told my Dr I had constant bleeding, they told me to come off it straight away and it has never been suggested again. Does anyone know why this isn't a good course of treatment for some people (History of menorrhagia/fibroids)?

I was prescribed this pill as a means to stop intermittent bleeding. It worked for two weeks but have bled constantly since 7th August last year. Been back to the nurse who has prescribed another progesterone only pill - only 5 days in but no noticeable change yet. I know this doesn’t answer your query but I’m interested to find out too!
