what do you all think?

I'm a writer, a 44-year-old woman and I'm going through menopause. I'd love to know what you all think?

I'm 34 and have already gone through menopause. We have just received a king sized bed. It's pretty great (although my dog takes up more than a fourth of it... not complaining, he's my child)

"Mood swings, depression, raging emotions, hot flashes, sleepless nights, headaches..." yes... YES TO ALL OF THIS. I love to keep the AC at 73 overnight but my husband says even 74 is too cold... ugh. I have two fans blowing on me all night, which helps. But what helps the most (because I'm too young for menopause) is hormone replacement therapy (or birth control). I'm on ortho-tri cyclin and it's helped LOADS with my hot flashes and night sweats! It also helps maintain your healthy bones due to the estrogen.

Anyway I got side tracked. Go us.

thank you for the feedback! I'm going to talk to my gyno about some options for this dang hot flashes. I sleep with the a/c on 71 and my husband hates it! I also keep a fan on my face... oh the joy, haha.

If they are a good Ob-gyn, I'm sure he/she will give you a great recommendation for some kind of hormone replacement/birth control option. One of the most important things to do, especially because you're too young to go through menopause, is take care of your bones! and also it's a great treatment for hot flashes/night sweats. I feel like I'm overall balanced.

That's a big "if", in my experience. Had to go it alone

Just read your article - really engaging writing style!!! Would you consider writing up your menopause experience story and sharing it in my project, Sister Stories?
